RE: eurgle 2.4 ghz
should be arriving at my door today! I will let you all know how it turns out. Update: I got the new Eurgle RX in and it does not stop sending the signal when the power to the TX is turned off. I ordered mine before the e-mail about the new ones was posted but he didn't have any in stock so I waited for the new stock to come in. I would have thought I would have got one of the new ones. I guess we will have to still wait and see.
ORIGINAL: Enzyme80 i know on the first page someone said that it does not work with analog servos. I just wanted to check on this before I purchased the radio. Thanks guys.
It works with Analog and digital servos.[8D] and you should be able to put an in-line fail safe on it now since the V2 RX are out.
ORIGINAL: edvin
receiver will automatically turn off once the signal from the transmitter is lost.
Definitely good improvement but will receiver turn on again when correct signal is received? Or should I unplug and plug receiver battery to restore receiver work? However car or engine is saved! Here, http://www.r2hobbies.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcps61208 under features, it's written Throttle cut Computer Programmable Digital Control Is this ''throttle cut'' related to previously mentioned ''fail safe''?
I don't think there is a throttle cut or integrated timer function thats mentioned... It would have been cool to have a timer. I'm gonna go check through my radio, but I don't think there is either one of them.

Cool, I just ordered an extra one from them a few days ago and I had to wait a couple days for the new stock to get in, so It should be from the new stock, with the fail-safe. we shall see!![8D] Other than the non mixing function I'm happy with this radio so far. I just ordered some 2900mah NiMH rechargeable for it so I wont have to keep switching out batteries. There is no slot/receptacle for a pack type unless you modify it so when you order this radio get some rechargeable batteries also.
ORIGINAL: mbe301 Where's a good place / model to get?
This is one, it comes with 2 RX. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8287&Product_Name=X8_2.4GHz_Combo_pack_for_JR_W/_Module_&_RX I use it in my Airplanes and Helis and it works great! it has a failsafe also. (All controls move to the position they were in when you turned on the system) so have your throttle at Idle and it will go back to Idle if you loose a signal, I really doubt that you will unless you drive very far around obstacles. This is the same module but without the extra RX http://www.himodel.com/radios/2.4G_X8J_JR_compatible_RF_module.html These are the RX's http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8688&Product_Name=X8R3_3Ch_2.4GHz_Receiver_(Long_Antenna) there are also others like the Corona... http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7380&Product_Name=Corona_2.4Ghz_JR_Module_&_Rx_(V2_DSSS) I don't know much about them but they seem to work fine. RE: eurgle 2.4 ghz
ORIGINAL: mbe301 Sent another email out to r2hobbies Hi Herman Thank you for your prompt response. It's not the servo, it's the rx. Normally the rx stops sending a signal to the servo when it looses signal, and the servo will tend to return to nuetral. When this rx looses the signal from the tx, it continues to send the last signal it had to the servo. If this one looses its signal and your throttle is at full power, the rx will keep it there. This also affects any failsafe plugged into it, because it is always getting a signal from the rx, even if the rx has lost contact with the tx. Anything you can find out would be appreciated. Thank you for your help. Here's his reply Hi there, Thank you for your reply and information. Actually, you should mean the ''Fail safe function'' right. If so, this function can only be use for HRS or PCM1024 system receivers now. But it will be available soon on 2.4Ghz radio gear, our engineer still testing the setting right now. We will keep you upgrade. = ) If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you very much. Yours Sincerely, Herman So, no failsafe possiblity. Hopefully they come out with an ''upgrade'', which I assume will be a different rx.
Thats why I say, if you want a fail safe you have to switch to a different module and RX. The Flysky/Eurgle module was only like 14.00 bucks at Hobbycity back when they had it in stock.[8D] Its a cheap module, if you really need the fail safe spend the extra money on a new mod.

Have you tried to hit all the buttons to see if he turned something off? If I where you I would just start a new model and see where you can get from that... Also You don't have to do dual rates for the steering for high speed thats what the ARC programing is for. The faster you go, you can program it to have less steering and vise-versa without having to flick a switch, its like throttle and pitch curves on helicopters.

RE: eurgle 2.4 ghz
I've just looked through the KO Propo Helios manual and they don't have TH cuts either... I'm guessing you don't need it in RC cars? Its more important on Helis, with RC cars the throttle always goes back to the off positing when let go. I'm guessing thats why they don't put throttle cuts on these. Now the Kill switch is another thing all together, if you are running gas then you might want to have a kill switch.[8D] But, Ive never heard of an RC car running someone over are chopping there head off like a Heli would.

RE: eurgle 2.4 ghz
ORIGINAL: mbe301 They're perfect for that I think. I just did some distance testing (set my TX in the driveway and started walking with my battery and tx in hand) After about 100-125 meters the signal was strong, after that the signal became eratic (depended alot on position of the antenna, signal made it about 150 meters - no direct line of sight - around the corner and down the street from my TX, I'll head to an open field this weekend for better testing) It still makes me nervous that my failsafe doesn't work. And from the forums I've read (mostly translated freach, manderan, swedish) none will, and the third channel will work for the pico switch, but only with the button on the TX, if it losses signal, it doesn't kill the engine. The thing that makes the lack of a working failsafe really scary with these is that if you loose signal at full throttle, it will stay at full throttle with power and signal from the rx keeping it there. Bye bye babay [:D] For the most part, I don't run more than about 100m (more like 75m, my eyesight isn't what it used to be) away from me, so I'm not to worried. As long as I keep an eye on my TX power (it will beep if it's power drops too low), and make sure my RX battery is charged (not as much as a worry, slow or weak steering will show a low battery PDQ). I'm still very impressed with the amount of settings (and cost) of the Eurgle, but if you can't setup any real failsafe... that's a big turn-off for alot of people (not me, I tend to push my luck for the buck - translation - cheap) I hope someone has a work-around for the failsafe, I haven't figured it out yet.
Yeah, I agree... So I guess the radio itself is pretty good? no bad firmware? for $70.00 shipped to my door no failsafe is the least of my worries![:D] you can always spend $80.00 and get the Assan 2.4 combo with 2 RX down the road. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8287&Product_Name=X8_2.4GHz_Combo_pack_for_JR_W/_Module_&_RX or some other cheap JR 2.4ghz Module.
ORIGINAL: mbe301 www.r2hobbies.com has them. So far, one scary note. Neither of my failsafes (venom & duratrax) work with it and it has no built-in failsafe. It's like the failsafe can't tell the rx has lost its signal. If my picoswitch (killswitch for 1/5 gas) doesn't work..... [:@]
I just plan on doing indoor electric racing with it for now. one day down the road I will get an Assan 2.4 mod and rx.
