RE: Official Rustler Thread
Toss all Integy parts you have(besides a battery hold down bar). Integy aluminum is not hardened like STRC or FLM and you can bend it with a pair of pliers. Upgrade to aluminum shocks and have the same for your knuckles. Steel yolks and good shock towers and bulk.

RE: VXL Fried Motor?
Hmmm, the smoke was coming out of the cover from the motor. How do I check a "pin gear" in the motor? I don't know what that is. Unless you mean "pinion gear". I know what that is... Any help on the pin gear would be great. Thank you.

VXL Fried Motor?
So out of no where...and I mean nowhere, my VXL motor on my stampede starts smoking and I noticed a HUGE loss in power. I can hear the motor whining up but absolutely no power. Can't even pop a wheelie...I'm pretty sure my motor is fried so I just oreded a new ESC and Motor. Any thoughts or anyone know if I'm correct? Thank you.

Stampede VXL Motor Issue
Okay, traded a couple of trucks for a Stampede VXL 2.4ghz very modded. Now I have an issue where once in a while my motor will just stop working and makes a tink noise when i apply throttle. Sometimes it only allows reverse for a second then neither forward or reverse. My ESC is working but it's almost as if my motor is stuck. Wheels wont turn but I can feel the vibration in the motor when i apply throttle. Only vibrates of a second like the shaft is hitting something. If I shut my ESC off, turn it back on, everything works great. Any help would be great. Using 4600 NiMH Thanks.

RE: Gettiin into the sport, need help!
First off, if a hobby shop owner is telling you to NOT buy a product from them, he's not running his business correctly and he will or is going to be out of business soon. He shouldn't even promote or carry the brand if he's pushing potential buyers away. Second, I've owned a Redcat Volcano EPX Pro(brushless) and the only problem I ever had was my stub axle breaking. It tends to happen with any vehicle when you slide into a curb at 30+ MPH. All in all my redcat was great for me. Although, I've owned a Traxxas Stampede and only burnt up my motor due to submerging it in water a few times. I don't think any RC company manufactures their products in the USA. Redcat has fantastic customer support and the replacement parts are very cheap. RUFaster.com is a great spot to grab Redcat products. I did just sell both my trucks for a upgraded Stampede VXL 2.4GHz.

RE: Volcano EXP wheel and tire options
Are those the exact same dimensions? 2.8" 12mm hex? If not then that means you would need to adjust your gearing to make up for the difference and if they are too wide, the tire will rub on the inside of the arm. Let me know the dimensions if you could. Thanks.

RE: Volcano EXP wheel and tire options
I talked with Billy from RedCat and here is what he stated: (More Torque) The stock gearing is 17/64. You can get more torque by going to a smaller pinion gear. Here are the one's we have: 11144 - 14T 11146 - 16T (Motor w/ heat sink & ESC getting very hot) This system puts out a lot of power, and that creates a good deal of heat. Do you have an exact temperature that you've taken of the motor and speed control after a 5 minute run or so? (Asked how many 2oz bottles of shock oil it would take to fill all eight shocks) The shock oil in the shocks is very comparable to 35wt, and you should be able to get by with just over 1- 2oz. bottle. (Other available options for wheels/rims)We only sell the stock tires and wheels for the Volcano, but if you take your wheel to a local hobby shop you should be able to match something up. (Other tips)Other than Lipo batteries, your truck should work great. I wouldn't recommend going with too many aluminum parts, as this will just weigh the vehicle down and cause the next part in line to break.

RE: Hard case or soft case Lipos?
I just bougt two 5000mah's 20C Tenergy LIPO (soft packs) and a universal smart charger all for $117 shipped. The lipos were on sale for $40 each. I've never had problems with Tenergy as I've used them for my NIMH batteries as well. In addition, I buy all my batteries and chargers from All-Battery.com. Awesome place.

Wheel extensions! Bad for truck?
Just curious before I ordered, if 1.5" wheel extensions would be bad on my truck. I'm running a Volcano EPX Pro and wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be putting a lot more stress on something such as my dog bones or motor. I figure that if I'm extending out, then it would make the motor work harder to get the extra distance of rotation for my wheels. Would I need to purchase longer dog bones?? how would they reach the hub carrier?

RE: Wheel Adapters
I believe that as long as you go from 17mm to 17mm you should be fine depending on the tire/rim. Certain tires are wider and taller than others which can cause the tire to rub on the inside of the front A-Arm when turning.

Lipo & Nimh
I have a few Nimh batteries and just ordered two LIPO's with a charger. Am I able to run both of them back and forth? Say I run a LIPO for the first run of the day and then later in the day I run a Nimh. is this okay to do?

RE: Volcano epx pro brushless issue...
Awesome thank you. Yesterday I bought two 7.4v 5000mah LIPO's and a LIPO smart charger. They should arrive in a couple days. Do you think I will be okay without a balancer for just about a week or two? I can't wait to test them out. I also just put on the shock shims(black plastic 3/4 of a circle looking things) and it helps the suspension significantly. Anyways, just let me know if I'm okay with no balancer for a week or two. Thanks.

RE: Extreme brushless Volcano EPX
Just letting you know that the stock setup in the Volcano EPX Pro's can only handle 7.4v LIPO's. You will burn up your ESC in a jiffy. "Take Luck..." Thanks Brian Regan!

RE: SUMO RC Who has one?
I picked up some 2650MAH batteries from Best Buy and they do make a big difference. I'm using the smallest pinion provided to get the most torque and it is great. I put the 10T in and it gives a higher top end speed. Now, the 12T doesn't work. I put it in and it's almost as if the gears are meshed way too tight but I can't figure out how to make that 12T work. Hmm....any ideas? Using the 12T provided, nothing turns. I can hear the motor but wheels will no move.

Differential/Shock oil (Volcano EPX Pro
So, anyone know what the stock DIfferential Oil is in the Volcano EPX Pro? I'm wanting to go heavier 30K - 50K?(I think) to keep the truck from slipping as much. Also, what is the stock shock oil and what should I use for upgrading the shock oil? 70 wt? Thank You!

RE: Earth Quake E8 & Volcano Pro LIPO HELP~
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Volcano EPX can handle a LIPO without destroying your motor or ESC. The Pro version can...You may want to check it out... My mistake, I see the title shows Volcano Pro...*** Sorry.

RE: Volcano EPX Pro - Anything goes.
Thank you for the help with the heatsink. I've talked with somepeople and they said the same thing... Does anyone have any ideas on gearing? if it would do me any good to change my gear setup. Also, what type of shock oil should I use for my shocks if I don't want to bottom out coming off a small jump? Seems to happen alot. Thanks a ton.

Wheels
Will any 2.8" 12mm hex tires and rims work fine on a Volcano EPX Pro without changing gearing or anything? I would like different tires and rims. The stocks seem to soft and they sound funny when running them in the woods...Kinda hollow sounding. Also, the steel carrier that the dog bone pin slides into that the nylon lock nut screws onto seems weak. I've snapped two off this past weekend and one back in February. I was wondering if they make a stronger one. Thank you.

Can you make a 4X4 have positraction?
Okay, I have an all wheel drive monster truck and I'm wondering if I'm able to give it positraction(wheels spin at the same time) instead of spinning one wheel in reverse and having the opposite side wheel spin forward. Another example would be if I held one tire, and moved the throttle, all tires would move except that one I'm holding. If so, would this give me anymore torque or would it be bad for the truck? I hope I explained what I'm wondering clear enough...
