hi there darksyde been reading your threads and maybe able 2help u on that leak prob.i had the same trouble on my akula converted from a chicago. the black recever box has small knobs on the top where the tubes attatch2.try looking at the base of each 1.try moving them slightly back and forth with your fingers 2c if there is a crack or split.i found 1.i superglued it plus siliconed it plus squirted silicoe partly down the tubes after fetching them off 2 dry them out,hopr this helps.happy sailing. undetaker[;)]

hey there rsea. ive had xactly the same probs bro when i put heavier batts in. ive wedged styrene in all fins at bow and stern and u will find in erlier threads about puting styrene arond the prop shaft.if its the same as the chicago 1ns at the rear.try craming it in every orifice.[:D] PAINFULL I KNOW[:(][:D][;)][:)]

hi there crunch[&o] [:(] leak much worse than i thot.sent u email in more detail.but 4 all our other sub buddies listnin in- water is in every tube & motor housing & recever box.[:(]found split in recever box where the tubes attach.[&o]gota totaly strip it all down,motors included 2 get all the water out as its swimming[&o]do u think il get any life back in it?hope so,theres NO WAY ON GODS GREEN EARTH THAT IM GIVING IN YET.this babies gonna be RESURECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AMEN![:D]

hi there crunch,[&o]yep,gota leak.remember now seein air bubbles come from batt box.found water in there.took reciever box apart & full of water.think it traveld down the tubes in2 it from the batt box[&o]i am drying it all out n re sealing every where,inc inside batt box.didnt c water satdy,found it all 2day after its stood around[&o]keep u posted undertaker

as u can c the recever is constantly under the water.can the water travel down the cable in2 the reciever? it workd great in trials till it went in canal.didnt even get any depth as didnt get it below surface.went down in bath at home tho.the batts were real cold wich causd slite condensatn wen they hit warm indoor air.[&o]

shud i do the metal recever antenna mod on rear ov the sub leaving a good 2ft stikin up out of the water so 2 get more out of water transmission? the recever wire at mo is glued 2 the outide ov the hull bowt 5inch long. i only used ordinary electric cable 4this wud that effect it?[&o]

[&o]Hello crunchy.[&o]a very disapointing day,walked 1 mile after leaving the car.picked a great spot near a bridge clear n bowt 4ft deep that lead 2 a part 5ft deep.got the sub in the water workd 4 2secs then nothing.[:(]thot it was the duracells at 1st.came home & rebalast the sub 4 the recharchables which took a good 40mins opening n closin refitting with more styrene n taking the weights out of the front fins.didnt realise just how heavy those recharchbles are.after saying goodbye agen 2 the wife and asking her 2 notify the coastgaurd if i didnt return[:)].got bak 2 the chosen spot.same agen[&o][:(]i put the end of the antenna in2 the water next 2the receiver &it workd.[X(]i new i had 2 give up at that.got back home & the bath was full still after rebalasting.same sort of thing.only workd wen put the ariel in2 the water[&o]it workd perfect in the bath in the trials,even when i walkd downstairs i cud still hear the sub working in the tub.whats happening crunch?[:-]do i need 2 redoo the reciver mod so that the antenna is on the sub protruding out of the water a good foot or 2?the radio waves not pennetrating the canal water.[&o][&o][&o]HELP!
