RE: Measurements for 150cc Yak 54
I'm curious how long that Yak is spinner to tail as I'd want to know how far past the tailgate it would stick out. [:D] Never mind. I got it. 116" Thats a big boy!!!!

RE: Time to make the switch!!
Steve, Also, if you get a sailplane with flaps and ailerons, the mixing will allow you to link up the elevator so when you land you will have the proper amount of pitch when crowing in the plane. I have the JR X9303 which I believe is one of the best radios you can buy for the money. You can use JR and the full like of Spektrum band receivers with this transmitter. And you are correct, with the 2.4Ghz technology you no longer have channels per se that can shoot you down if someone else turns on their transmitter on the same channel. The receiver "binds" to the transmitter so it knows you are the only owner. Horizon has the manual and setup sheets online as well. ;-) http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRP29151#quickSupport

I checked a bunch of Home Depots and couldn't find any. Are these just in the Hardware Dept. along side of all the other generators or in another department? The salespeople looked at me like I was crazy & said we don't carry Honewell, we carry Husky....... [8|]

RE: Which Transmitter??????
Good thread. I'm watching with interest. I want to go 2.4 as well. Was looking at maybe a 9303 or 12X or 14Z. So far I've heard the 12X has battery problems where it stops taking a charge then one day out of the blue the power is not enough and your plane falls out of the air. I've heard with the Futaba the receivers get hot and burn out to which they fail and your plane falls out of the air. I know not everyone experiences these problems but that's just what I have read. Looking for something most reliable where my plane won't fall out of the air. Maybe the X9303?

RE: Clockwise, or Counterclockwise?
Thats where inside/outside rotation can come into play. Going the same direction I've had to do this a couple times where the planes look like this. > \ \ (you get the idea) ;)

That's really strange. I wonder if they are making them differently or an aftermarket company has taken over the business or something? Mind you I have old stock, but here is a picture of a new one I have and parts to one I have taken aprt.

RE: 3 second hover
Mine have never had splines but yes I did rough up the area where the gear sits and hit it with a drop of CA. Fairly simple fix.
