RE: ready to order E Firestore Flux.....using 3S Lipo however....
1. When fitted with the Flux Warp 5700 motor or other motors with 5700kV of power, you can use up to 8 normal NiMH cells or a 2S LiPo battery. 2. When fitted with a motor with 4600kV of power, you can use up to 12 NiMH cells or a 3S LiPo battery
This is what my friend was told when he orders his ^ the mms has alot more tunability than the vxls but the vxls are a breeze to use and run 3s from start.

Bet that durga isnt running 100mph tho [:D] To reach that amount of speed you need a lot of power and i dont think belt drives would last too long in there tbh imagine the rpm on a shaft to reach 100mph??[X(]

RE: Belt or Shaft
belts drives are more for racing ie better power control out of corners etc for straight line racing, the belt would be smoother but the shaft will pull off quicker as it has instant torque also less problems with shaft over belt so belt for racing and shaft for bashing and speed [;)]

RE: How to tell a motors max Voltage??
Yeh 11.1v would be too much on a stock mod motor it will end up destroying it and if you got lucky and it never it would probally burn the motor brushes alive lol [:D] like said 8.4v(7cell) is a nice speed a 27t motor rep for the CO27 too great motor in the 27turn class [;)]

RE: NIMH Lost a lot of capacity how come?
Does draining the pack too far lower the capacity? I run them until I feel the car slowing down..
Shouldnt do m8 i run mine like yours til the car creeps but i discharge them after before recharging them. Like dale said there start to lose power as soon as there off the charger my 5000mah left for a day or too drops to about 3800-4000mah but as long you cycle your nimhs and look after them they should be fine but the discharge rate is rubbish unto lipo batterys
My 1600 packs are only charging to about 1000mah
That doesnt sound right its usually over the mah like my 4600s on a multimeter read over 4900mah after a charge so i would try cycle the pack and see if that helps out [;)]

RE: Battery Questions
Yeah a good 6cell fully charged pack will show well over 7.2v ive had some upto 8.8v on a multireader as for the lipo questions inmy experience lipo packs put out more power than nimh so a 2cell would have more power than even a decent 6cell for runtimes and power output Imo same with the 7cell tbh i know some say it depends on which brand but even the top companies 7cells wouldnt outlast or outperform a decent 2 cell lipo. Of course it depends on which brand lipo in the beginning i know some of the cheap oriental packs are junk.

RE: Good motor for this car?
Think those 12t motors wouldnt do so well on a tazer tbh i would always go a few turns over the esc limit to stop problems etc. Personally i would use a decent 19t motor that would give you enough speed see if you can find a checkpiont 19t sheo there very good motors and the brushes last a little longer than the low turn ones. [X(]And please dont run that CF on carparks as its gonna get trashed on the bottom,if you go 19t you can then enter the tourer class at tracks etc [;)]

RE: Hard case lipo or Not
As long as its secured in tight shouldnt be any problems like sheo said really only falling out the chassis is it going to get damaged the slashs chassis protects the batteries pretty well tbh So just make sure its held in tight maybe an extra support brace across the top to help it stop coming out on jumps and rolls etc
