What's New Guy's?
Its been forever and then some since I last logged on here. Ive been debating on getting back into the R/C scene again seeing as how my obsession with 1:1 is getting pretty pricey. Whats hot right now for new vehicles? Ive been out of the game for to long to even know. Your help could get me back in the game! [8D]

Ive seen them first hand and was decently impressed with the overall design layout & design. Im by no means a traxxas fan but by the looks of it the mini slash and revo are going to be a hit because of their design. I personally would still take a mini lst2 over it with the BYT diff mod but thats just me.

RE: Mamba Monster Maxx Lipo Question
And dont bother to set up the lipo cutoff without a castle link. Yes auto-lipo cutoff may be handy but it isnt always safe. Your best bet is to take the extra step and use the castle link and program the cutoff manually.

Pretty much as long as your not wasting your money on minamps you'll be fine if you are running the right pack.

RE: Intellect LiPos???
ORIGINAL: traxxaspede Do you know how to find out how much current my setup it drawing? or would I be able to use it with a mamba max/VXL?
Amps= Volts/Resistance. Find the resistance of the motor and divide that from 7.4 to get your constant amp draw.

Flight Power uses Thunder Power's cells which are custom ordered from enerland.

RE: Mamba Monster Maxx Lipo Question
ORIGINAL: fusebmx13 Just set the auto lipo on. Or if you are unsure just set it at 3v per cell. For example, a 2s pack would be set at 6 volts, 3s at 9v and so on. The easiest thing to do is auto lipo.
Only use auto when you absolutely must. Its not very well trusted.
ORIGINAL: FairTax4me SMC is working on a 3S 5200mah 40C pack. Don't know when it will be available, but they have 2S packs out now. And from the stuff I've read people really like them. Most are getting better test numbers than what SMC prints on the labels. X2 on the Flight Powers. I've met quite a few plane guys through my LHS, all of them say they'll run nothing but Flight Power. IIRC they use Kokam cells.
They use ThunderPower cells.

RE: high mah lipo's
ORIGINAL: chummer
ORIGINAL: Redvanmafia what is a good 3s lipo that has more then 5000mah, and can handle more then 100amps. ive heard bad things about maxamps, (DOA batterys) anybody have any ideas?
Is this true[X(]. Where have you heard that? I always thought maxamps was a leader in lipo. I am going to be purchasing lipo's very soon and maxamps was my #1 choice. I would like to hear more.
Maxamps claims their #1 in quality lipos. The cells they use are infact terrible quality. The zippy's have been known to perform better and last longer. Maxamps imports their cells directly from a small chinese lipo cell manu. If you want to spend a rediculous amount on lipos them dont even bother with maxamps. Take a look into flightpower, polyquest, a123, thunderpower, neu energy... Those are all the highest of quality. And I forgot to mention the amp ratings they claim from their packs are bogus. Their are way to many charts on rc-m showing the dropoff of the maxamps cells way to soon which means they are poor.

RE: LiPo Video
Not intended to be microwaved so safety hazards as far as this goes are stll safe. Lithium technology is getting alot more "safe" then it use to be. Theirs suppose to be a cell coming "forgot the chemistry" that is as safe as a123 cells but delivers 2x as much punch as a quality lipo cell.

RE: vxl esc vs. mamba motor
ORIGINAL: Metallover There is no way in hell the traxxas does 200a continuous. The mamba monster max does 120 continuous. I would estimate the vxl to do 80-100a. I think the mamba max had the edge on the vxl. You don't see any vxls running 4s or even 5s... It doesn't even really matter anyway. We all know what motors each esc can handle, and that's all that's important.
Ive ran a feigao 6xl on 3s and the esc didnt even get a smidge warm. I ran the same setup on a MM and the MM topped 180deg in under 4 mins of runtime. Take note that this was used in an e-maxx to prove that the vxl esc is more amp capable than the mm. And no that was not my permanent setup. This was my exact setup I permanently used after i got rid of the tranny. "4s flightpower lipo, modded CC hydra 120 esc, Turnigy outrunner 50-55 DD."
This is untrue... If you run a 5000mah 2s lipo with atleast 20c continious it will outperform a 6-cell pack with the same mah. A 7-cell nimh pack with an equal 5000mah will only put out around 30a-40a continous compared to the 2s 5000mah pack which will put out 100a contininous. Its already been proven that a 2s lipo will run about the same speed as a quality 7-cell pack but the difference in torque and runtimes makes buying a lipo much more worth it. 5000mah in lipo form is basically like comparing it to a 7500mah nimh cell which has been stated many times on other forums.
