RE: What attracts you?
That would be numbers 1,3,4, & 5. I love the flying aspect and seeing something you worked hard on building take to the sky. The social part is a pretty big one. At where I fly if you go out there on the weekend early in the morning, you'll get people bringing donuts & coffee and theirs more talking done than flying ! Its always nice to see that brown truck pull up with your new toy. I wouldn't say getting outside as an excuse. I always helps a lot when flying though and having nice whether is always a plus. Theres a lot of things that have a part in this hobby. TF96

RE: World Models P-40 Warhawk
Its not the scalest P-40 out there. My dad had named me after the P-40 Warhawks Allison v12 engine used in WWII ; he was working on one while in school for Aircraft Mechanics. I have studied & come to know/reconize all WWII fighters, enemy or allie ; so I can be a bit picky when it comes to details. But, just looking at it, it looks animated/cartoonish and the colors used are a bit off. JMHO. TF96

RE: Best Fuel Line
Thanks for the advice guys ! The fuel line was purchased and put in at the beginning of the season. So, I'm not sure if sitting too long would be an issue. I'am being delayed anyway due to a non-RC related hand injury. Thanks. Anymore suggestions are welcome. TF96

Best Fuel Line
I was wondering what brand Fuel Line would be the best to use. Lately, all the fuel tubing in almost every plane of mine & my dads has broken, gotten a tiny tear, slipped off, and was just a pain in the butt. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody could recommend some good fuel line. We believe the lines that were causing the troubles were Great Planes fuel lines. I don't if its the brand or the fact we may have just gotten a bad batch. We've replaced the lines at the beginning of the season this year. Thanks. TF96

RE: How old are you?
I'm 13. I started flying about 3 years ago and I've been hooked ever since :) I'am very fascinated w/ aviation and hope to have a career in aviation one day. I have also flown a (full scale) Cessna 172 on an introductory flight w/ my Uncle who is a CFI down in Ottumwa, IA. I do have a tie to full scale planes through my dads side of the family and as well as my name. My dad used to be a Flight Mechanic and when he was in school, at around the time I was being born he was working on a Allison v12 engine (used in WWII planes - P-40 Warhawk, P-38 Lightning, early P-51's, etc.) so he named me Allison. This thread could turn out to be very intresting [8D] TF96

RE: VQ Mig-3 ARF
Happy Labor Day ! Anyway this morning I went out to the field and I had another flight on er. I'am not all that familiar w/ warbirds and how the handle differently than other planes. So, I thought I'd give Take-Off a try, so, after some advice from Tony (Thanks Tony !) I tried but ended up letting off of elevator & tipped er over. Woops ! So, I tried again and sucessfully took off, and had a very sucessful flight, due to wind conditions my dad suggested I let him land so I did. I'am truly impressed w/ this plane. Will try to take pictures next time out. TF96

RE: Music at R/C Warbird Events: YEA or NAY? Please VOTE!
I was recently at Warbirds and Classics over the Midwest in Fond du Lac, WI and they do have music which is not played too loud, and it isn't played all the time either. At the beginning before everybody started flying they played the US and Canadian national anthem. And the only time the PA system comes on is either for music or an announcement about raffles, or fly overs, etc. I admit the music adds a certain touch but I'd much rather here the engines. TF96

My dad and me went on Friday. It was windy but a lot of fun. My dad bought a Balsa USA Smoothie Kit while there too. Does anybody know what happened to that beautiful Dauntless ? I just saw it smashing into the ground [:'(] Anyway, here are the pics ! TF96

RE: Prop Safety, NEVER let your guard down. Warning: Bloody picture
I'm sorry to hear (and see) that, Ken. Glad to hear your gonna be okay, Lucky it didn't hit any major tendons, bones, etc. I hope that you have a speedy recovery and hopefully be flying (safely) soon. This is even more proof of how bad a prop can hurt you if your not careful, I'm 13 and my dad does NOT let me start my engines, and this is one of the reasons why. Let this be a lesson to me and so many more people to, like you said, NEVER let your guard down around props. Hope you feel better ! TF96

RE: First 3D Plane
Thanks for the information gusgonzalez ! Based on how the money situation is changing, schools almost here, and time/space isn't ready for a new plane. Plus my dad was wanting to fly it too. I kinda have to run stuff by him if I want to do anything. My dad already has a kit going so, theres too much going on to get a new one, right now I think I'll just work w/ what I have and possibly get a profile in the future. Who knows after trying it, I may not be all that into 3D. TF96
