RE: Toledo only 3 weeks away!
Hey guys...........A question concerning parking.........I have always parked across the street in the several story parking garage from where the fuel trucks are located & walked around the corner to the front doors. Can you park directly across the street from the front doors in the parking garage that's conected to the upper cross walk into the swap shop, & if so, how do you get in to it? Thanks in advance.................. Tcat

RE: OS 55AX problems
Hi.............I am currently running five of the 55AX engines on five different planes & have never had a flameout as described in above posts. Hmmmmm........... On all but one of the planes with this engine, I have two full seasons on them with a lot of flights. My planes are H9 Twist 40, Ultra Stick 40, Drastick 40, Escapade 40, & a second Twist 40. I do a lot of touch & go's when the field is not crowded & they just transition great. Here is my setup & may be the reason of my success................ 15% Wildcat blend 18% oil APC 12 X 4 OS A3 or type F plug Macs black muffler # 6590 on four of them & stock OS muffler on one of them Maybe my higher RPM's are helping........or the Macs muffler.........I wonder Anyway that's my story & I'm sticking to it...........I went through 14 gallons of fuel past season so I fly a lot........... RE: Hitec Optic6 TX won't bind...Please help!
OK guys..............You nailed it spot on! I feel like a dummy for not knowing this. I had it set to "QPCM" as that was what my ch 20 receiver was in my Ultra Stick. I just didn't think that it made any difference because of leaving 72 & changing to 2.4 I looked through the supplied info sheets & no where did I find this info. Maybe I missed it. After reading replies I went & changed it to "PPM" , did the re-bind & VIOLA! Works great with all my old settings intact. I spent over two hours last evening working on this issue before finally giving up. Took me less than 30 seconds this morning to fix it! THANKS VERY MUCH GUYS! Tcat

Hitec Optic6 TX won't bind...Please help!
Hi...........I hope some of you Hitec gurus out there can help me with a problem on my Hitec Optic6 TX..................... I have a Optic6 TX on channel 20 that works great with my H9 Ultra Stick 40. I bought a Hitec Spectra module for it with two Optima 7 receivers. I removed the ch 20 module from the TX & installed the spectra module & antenna. Now here is my problem......It won't bind! It looks like it tries to bind as all of the servos then jump all over the place. If I move one TX stick, all servos get the jitters but don't work. Then I tried the other Optima7 receiver & two different Optima6 receivers & none of them work. It's not the receivers. I also have a NIB Optic6 TX that came as a 2.4 gig from the factory. IT WORKS GREAT! The NIB TX binds to all the above receivers, but the converted one from ch 20 TX does not. OK..............I removed the TX module from the new TX & installed it in the TX that don't bind. That new module does not work in the older TX either. I then took the Spectra module & antenna from the older ch 20 TX & installed it in the NIB TX & it works (binds) fine. Geeeeese.............. My finding is that it's not either new Spectra 2.4 TX modules......the one that came in the new Optic6 TX, or the one that came with two receivers that I bought for the ch 20 TX. It's not the receivers either as the new TX with either Spectra module works with all of them. It's not my binding procedure either as I can bind the new TX to all receivers but not the older TX. It has to be the older ch 20 Transmitter that I converted to 2.4, but why? Sorry if the above is confusing but wanted to give all of the things that I tried. Anybody? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any ideas............ Tcat

RE: Hanger 9 Ultra Stick 60 Wing Set
Hi Dale...............Did you find a wing set for your US 60 yet? I happen to be browsing this site & seen your post from a few weeks ago. I have a new unassembled wing set for that bird. It is both halves with full strip ail. I also have two sets of quad flaps for it also. I am currentlt flying two U-stick 60's.............one with a Saito 125 & one with a Saioto 115. Quite a plane. The only thing missing is the wing joiner piece. I bought the set at a hobby swap meet hoping to find a fuse & tail set for it, but to no avail. When I removed the panels from the plastic sleeve, one panel looks like someone replaced the covering on the bottom but looks perfect. You probably have it fixed up by now but just thought I would check. Thanks............ Barry Kelly skyking1@t-one.net

RE: Need help with Futaba 8UAS TX
OK..........I gave up trying to find the above issue, & did a data reset on that model. It all works fine now. Also got failsafe setup on all four models. My other three models on that TX all worked fine as they were started from scratch unlike the first model. The previous owner of that TX had only one model programmed & that was the one that I was having trouble with. I should have reset it before starting, but didn't. That won't happen again.....................Thanks.......... Tcat

RE: New Great Planes Escapade 61.
Yup........Went & checked my clevises also after starting my kit last evening & found the same thing. The holes are too large for the clevises. Both with the Sullivan gold & the included ones. I went to my parts stock & found some new control horns that looked almost the same with the smaller holes & also had plastic backer plates & through the ail bolts like most have. I wasn't too happy abput the short wood screws holding the control horns on anyway, so replaced the control horns from my stock. Again, new control horns with smaller holes.............long bolts through the Ail, with backer plates on the other side. I am now happy! Now have to find more for the rudder & elevator............... Tcat

Info needed for Webra Speed 50 GT
Hi................Was going to put 55AX on the nose of my 46 to 50 size sport plane, but the case is too wide for mounts & I cannot change it. (Lonestar 50) I have a new Webra Speed 50 GT Aero non ringed with muffler that fits perfectly. (narrower case) Can anyone that knows this engine tell me anything about this engine? How does it perform..........compared to say a OS 46 AX......55 AX..........Magnun 52.........Evo 52........Etc etc........Just want to know if it's a panzy or a stump puller before I drill mount holes............. I know nothing about this engine so any info would be great.....Thanks in advance One more thing I noticed......The included muffler has no baffle & the outlet hole is HUGE! ??????? Tcat

RE: Info needed for Webra Speed 50 GT
Thanks guys for the info.....I had a Master Airscrew Schmitar 10/7 prop that I think that I will try out on it. Also have a 10/6 & 10/5... The muffler is one piece & tapers down towards the end like most other mufflers but is still one piece. It's not the constant dia tube like shown in my manual. Again, the hole in the end though is quite large & no baffle when looking into it. The pressure tap comes off of the inlet to the muffler on the side close to the mounting lug rather than in the muffler chamber like most others. ???????? My fuel for all my planes is Wildcat blend 15% nitro and 18% oil. Hope it liks it. All my others do! Again, thanks guys for the info............. Tcat

RE: Special oil for gas now?
Hmmmm............If you think Ethanol fuel is so da** good then you need to see this statement right from the EPA site...............This is what's coming.. What Vehicles and Engines May Not Use E15? All motorcycles. All vehicles with heavy-duty engines, such as school buses, transit buses, and delivery trucks. All off-road vehicles, such as boats and snowmobiles. All engines in off-road equipment, such as lawnmowers and chain saws. All MY2000 and older cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty passenger vehicles (SUVs). Above taken from this EPA site http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/fuels/additive/e15/#use Notice it says "NOT USE".............Do you think that this fuel is not going to get into older units? Like I said in my previous post..........some of you are clueless............ Hey, what am I crabbing about! This is job security for my business........It's just too bad the general public has to take the hit because of this practice. Every area is different also. Straight fuel here is very hard to find. A few marinas have it in the summer only & they charge an arm & a leg for it. There are a few areas that have a fuel called R-90 at some of the marinas. I do not have any issues with ethanol fuel in my cars & trucks either other than less MPG's..........Yes it is a fact that e10 fuel gets less MPG's. like it or lump it! The problem exists when this blended fuel sits! If it sits long enough to let too much moisture through hydroscopic action or water in your system for whatever reason................This "Phase Seperation" occurs taking the Ethanol & water to the bottom of the tank. Ethanol in itself is a very powerful solvent. When it goes to the bottom along with the water, it sits there & causes the damage explained earlier. You folks out there can form your own opinions about Ethanol fuel. It does not matter to me at all. Just don't bitc* when you get slammed with a large bill at your local dealership or get told that you need to buy a new unit because the cost of replacement parts exceed the value of the unit! In closing.........ALL OF THE ISSUES IN MY PREVIOUS POST ARE VALID! Job security again comes to my mind.............. Got to get to work & open up my shop. I have machines waiting out there with this very issue as I type this post. Believe it or not...I do not care............ Tcat
