RE: Balsa grain direction
As has been stated with spar. However, since it has to be glued over leading edge;which is tapered, that might be a bit difficult to flex it there since grain will not be parallel there. guess you will have to make decision.

RE: Flaps
As stated by RCKen generally true but have also seen opposite occur. Besides 1/4 inch deflection is almost negligable. Easy to find out just take it up, reduce throttle to idle and give it a try. Nothing that you can't correct will happen. once determined you can then mix some corection in elevator, when flaps are deployed. If desired.

RE: Need advice on unsticking an OS 120 nonsurpas engine
One thing I would try is using your heat gun on rocker arms and valves. If the caster oil has gummed things up that should loosed it up.

RE: Engine Only Starts UPSIDE-DOWN???
Will attempt to give you some ideas. As you have said it drips fuel through carb when not running and that your tank is higher than it should be. That's probably your problem right there, it's siphoning; lower tank. If that's not possible then remove the restrictors from carb thereby allowing further adjustment of both the high and low speed needles. I believe your low speed is set too rich due to tank height. I don't have same plane but do have the 46 size with a 4 stroke 82 and it runs fine. I also have a 46 Evo but did remove resrictors to properly get it tuned.. Yes an idle bar plug may help as well since you appear to be drowning the plug during start up.

RE: TT .46H settings
There is not nor can there be a specific setting due to variety of reasons, However, start with 2-3 turns open then lean to get best rpm, back off slightly from their to prevent overlean run. You will then need to adjust the idle screw but very gradually on here. It may require some further adjustment on main need le valve also. I don't understand what you mean by busting glow plugs? If they're burning out you are probably overheating by running too lean or perhaps using too hot a plug. If you only getting 6 min. on a tank you are loosing fuel someplace which also may be a cause of running too lean. Check entire fuel system inc. plumbing in tank. Also tighten all screws.

RE: Beveling Basics help
Long ago I made several sanding jigs to suit various angles, 45 degrees being one of them. I used 1/8 ply about 3-4" long, glued together to provide desired angle with a pc of ply that angle attached to back to maintain the shape which also forms a handle when in use. Have come in handy many times over the years.

RE: RADIO!!??
Basically you do not need such a radio however if you beleave you will continue in this hobby It's worthwhile getting one of the 2.4 type radios. If you need explanation of why do some research on them. The one you mention is a great radio but you don't need one that fancy to have the benefits of 2.4 ghz.

It's surprising that you appear to have mounting holes that close to edge of mount, never have had that situation. Anyhow a no.6 sheet metal screw will work fine. Do as was directed by Safetwire and you should be fine.

RE: Center of Gravity
Aerodynamics can get very complex so I just do what I've done for last 50 years, locate CG at 25% to 30% of chord at root. Of course that may not work with every possible wing layout, such as swept wings but I think you are just looking for basic info. sometimes simple things can be made complex.

RE: elevator setup
From the replies you already have I believe you found what you asked. Would just like to mention something I feel is very important. Once you have decent altitude straight and level go to high throttle and give sudden up elevator. This will result in a nice tight loop, OR a snap to left. If it snaps you have too much up elevator for that plane. Some planes are very touchy that way, most are not but this is good to find out. Not likely on trainer types.

I never heard of an XRX version of any plane. What is it/ An RTF comes complete with Tx as well as all flight requirements. This I never buy since I have all my own equipment and that you get with an RTF is not very good. Since success depends 85% on good equipment I reccomend you buy that separetly, and get an ARF.

Hey Rock! You may be the first one I have noticed that mentions varying the engine speed by the needle setting not the throttle, during break in. This has been my system for many years and is the proper way. Also glad to see someone spell break-in correctly. Not brake in.

RE: Rich or lean
I think it's lean. When rich it doesn't quit abruptly or backfire just sorta loads up and quits. At any rate youshould find out by making small adjustments one way or the other. This is done on ground not in air.

Thanks for reply. It is same type but smaller than stock muffler. That was an error it's 25% smaller volume not 75%. Do think I will lose some power but hopefully not too much.

engine power
Engine question. Due to the space needed for the installation of my motor, an OS 46 I was unable to use the muffler that comes with that engine. Therefore, I happened to have a shorter smaller muffler that fit great within the cowl. Same type muffler but about 75% less muffler capacity. I also needed to extend the ouput end of muffler to get it outside of cowl. All this I presume has perhaps reduced engine efficiency but don't know this. It seems to run about the same as before but guess won't know till I fly it if power is reduced. What do the expert think about this? Should have meant 25% less capacity not 75%

RE: Setting front wheel hight?
No matter what the question there shall always be pros and cons. So much depends on your style of flying. Here is a suggestion for you. Set plane up so wing is at zero angle of attack. try it. Next change to slightly smaller nose wheel giving negative AOA, try it. Next use slghtly larger nose wheel now you have positve AOA. This should enable you to choose how you like it. Personally I think much of this is B.S. I don't find it at all critical. I do prefer slight negative though.

RE: What RTF or ARFs roll fastest?
Call me ignorant if you wish but just don't know why anyone wants to roll fast? To do really nice rolls one must be able to add the slight up and down elevator at proper time especially when doing rolling circle. So give me a clue as to why really fast rolls.

RE: My New YS110S. Regulator ?
Although I'm not familiar with your engine I am familiar with the problem you're having with fuel siphoning out of carb. From your pix I see your tank is much too high. Tank center should be even with or slightly below needle valve of carb. This has been discussed many times and doesn't matter what engine is being used. You mention the regulater which I'm not familiar with is it supposed to compensate for tank location?. Bench mount it with tank in proper location and it will probably r un fine.

I have been using JR radios most of my life and am totally pleased with them. However, I know that Airtronics make a very good product so would not hesitate getting one if I was just getting started.

SERVO OUTPUT ARMS
Just don't understand why JR/Spectrum do not provide any longer servo arms with their servos? All they have are the sound ones and the short 4 arm type. I have servos and arms from all other manufacters that also include thos e far longer than what Jr have. Of course none of those will fit a Jr servo . I just installed my Spectrum digital servos in my wing for the ailerons and found they do not protrude out of wing enough to connect to the pushrod. Only solution I have is to put other servos in their place that have longer output arms. Seems odd that JR doesn't include them or do they even have them?
