I have had and flown three different brands of Stiks and none of them flew as well as the midwest versions.. I scratch built a sweet stik from the original plans last winter, it weighs 4.25 lbs and again flys great.. It must be the wing airfoil...I have a fox 45 with the grand father clock back plate on it...plent of ump! Good luck and keep em flying Terry

RE: Lost plane device
You need a voltage regulator (I get mine from Don's RC in KS, he is in the AMA ) Great bunch of people and very helful. I used these on my large war birds. The beeping does not start unless the Trottle is idle for ONE minute... but the system has three types of alarms.. Im glad I use them. Terry

RE: Topflite Gold kit P-47
CAUTION ! For those of you who are going to use the fixed gear provided with the kit. Make sure the axle for the tire is forward enough as drawn on the plans. My metal wire was bent to where the wheel was straight down from the torque block makeing the wheel axle 1,1/2" to far back for proper tire location. I bent the wire to re=set it forward..By leaving it back as bent, you will cause a nose over problem when taxiing or landing also can cause earily lift off on take off causing a stall..... get a good look at your plans for proper angles... very important for good ground handleing.....good luck!

Trainer switch
we have a Futaba Fasst 7 channel radio system and yesterday we tried to buddy box to it with a square connector lead in the back..( The slave unit was a Tower buddy box) This would not work on the fasst system but yet the buddy box worked on two other futaba radios that were not Fasst systems.. ( a 4 and a 6 XA ) is there a program in the menu that I need to activate? Thanks for your help.. Terry

RE: Topflite Gold kit P-47
Ben I didnt see that on the plans. My wire must have been bent wrong. My wheels were straight down from the mounting blocks. Now they are almost up to the leading edge as you discribed so it should be fine now...Thanks for the input! Terry

RE: T/F P-51 gold kit Motor?
Out the side of the plane is not a bad thing..(It just shows) you will have less running and idle problems mounted sideways and your cooling problems would be all gone** I am gonna start a building thread for this plane next winter as we get our together.. please post your progress as we go along! Have a great flying day!
