RE: What was your first rc car??
If any of you guys remember Terminator 2...there was a part where they show the one guy's son that makes the chip that they're trying to destroy and he's driving an R/C monster truck with a custom paint job(or so it seemed) and that inspired me into saving up and getting my first hobby level R/C car. It was a Kyosho USA-1 electric kit. It took me about 10 hours to build it when I was 10 years old, man those were the good old days. After that I moved on to a few 1/10 electric AE buggies and then on to a Duratrax Maximum ST(not the greatest nitro experience for me lol). I then had purchased a Schumacher 1/10 with a TT .21 for those ridiculous speed runs. After that a terribly built T-Maxx was bought and that thing broke too easy...first editions were not like today's. Then I got into a 1/10 HPI SS touring car. Then a Revo 3.3 also was very weak and broke easily. Then I got my 1/8 scale 8ight T and it was awesome but since I no longer have time for R/C, I sold it :( I'll get back into it when something really cool is released not like these make a quick buck R/C vehicles that come out.

""A wrench is a wrench and they all do the same job" " Not true. I explained this to my friend looong ago when I told him to buy the craftsman torx bits over some crappy no names and he didn't listen. 10 minutes later while working on his brakes on his car I snapped the crappy, cheap torx bit in half and went back to the store for the Craftsman. So...they DON'T all do the same job in some cases. Hudy is way over-priced, Losi Race wrenches are well worth the dough in my opinion.

RE: 8ight Truggy
The stock RTR shock towers are pretty crappy but they're light but they aren't all that sturdy. I've yet to have problems of clay building up on my shafts and rear arms but I guess my track is pretty clean in comparison to your track haha. If I thought the covers were needed I would have spent the 10 bucks, believe me haha. It doesn't take much to clean off what's on there after a tank of gas has run and several laps later for me,tires....that's a different story. A simple google search would have allowed you to find washers pretty easily but laziness will get the best of you. A good upgrade is a radio tray stiffener because stock it flexes a ton.

^Dang, if you're that lazy to figure it out like some of us have you're probably too lazy to install them. Slayer, instead of that upper plate you should have gotten new shock towers, a far better upgrade IMO. Also, I think the rear shaft covers are a silly idea because all the extra drag you have now from the air resistance that wasn't there before. Kind of like running without a body.

Trinity makes the springs and Losipartshouse sells them and I did it as well. Truck coasts a lot better it seems and it's almost like I'm still giving it gas when it runs. You have to learn how to drive with it, it made that big of a difference without any drag. Why isn't this i the 8ight section? =/

JR 9100S Has Died
Well, my steering 9100s took a dump on me on Saturday. I had my EPAs set properly and never held a position for long as I twitch through turning and such and my servo saver was far from locked too so... depending on what goes on in the battle between me and JR for warranty claiming I will probably go with an Ace DS1015 if I'm forced to purchase another servo because of what a couple members have told me. This was in my 8ight T by the way that's why it's posted here in the Truggy section. Has anyone else had a 9100s take a crap on them? I could understand if this happened during a crash or something but I didn't crash or anything it just stopped working and will no longer respond to controls or hold a line and just makes beeping sounds and I know it's not a power issue because my T/B servo(which is another 9100s,I'm crossing my fingers) is working fine, even with the wheels lifted off the ground the steering 9100s won't move at all :(

The only thing I get confused about is this...Qaiz, if the Nitrage is such a good truggy like you claimed why did you buy something new and totally different instead of just putting a new engine in the Nitrage. That's the one thing I don't understand.

Maybe because i'm a good driver? I don't do WOT into walls. Its a tough truck Here is a photo of the jump i speared when I broke that pin
Not bad for an RTR, try getting the Ti-Ni hinge pins. They are pretty strong.
Lol, trust me when I say that the TI hinge pins break just as easy as the standard =/ I'm not too great of a driver but I landed on my buddie's 8ight T at about 10-15MPH and the pin went SNAP! It was a Lunsford back when I broke that, my Losi Ti Ni hasn't broken but I haven't crashed in a while either. When I DO snap the Ti Ni Losi pin I'll be sure to let you guys know :)
ORIGINAL: Oasis TR ..Losi tough..lol..I guess you must have gotten a "different" one than what most of us got..Mine seemed to have some problems with diff cases (I was not the only person having these problems either) My losi seemed to wear stuff out rather quickly also..The plastic seemed to wear out..A arms, Hubs, this type of stuff..I'm not talking about really breaking stuff but it was sloppy..a lot of "extra" movement in the suspension. I liked the way the Losi handled but was not impressed with the cost and time it took to make it work..The diff issue was also not to good either..I got rid of my 8T quickly and can say that the Quality of the Mugen is much better..Honestly if you race you should carry spare parts for when you break..I always buy a "spare" truggy for parts..always..
I find it quite interesting that you buy a "spare" truggy for parts. That just tells me you break quite often and get in nasty crashes. No wonder your 8ight isn't tough =/

It's kind of funny because there's at least 10 guys at my local track that are running Losi 8ight Ts and I've never heard about one problem with any of their diff cases so it must be a hit or miss thing. Oh and if you're a good enough racer you might not need spare parts unless someone hits you =/ As far as things wearing out, anything will, just some things wear out faster than others. It also might be due to poor maintenance. Some people have cars that last well over 250,000 miles and some people's cars don't even last over 100,000, it's all how you take care of your things.

RE: MBX5T ProSpec or 8ight-T Pro
"The upper hinge pins wear quite fast and tend to elongate the holes in the upper arms and i have read that the driveshafts are a little weak...but as of yet i have had zero problems with mine....also again from what i have read is that the crt likes to be pushed quite hard if this is the case then i am sure you would love the pro spec There are also a lot of nice hop ups to add to the mugen if you so wish i.e kingheadz, fiorini,k factory etc Here's some pics of mine first the eight t race roller that i sold IMHO the spots i found to be weak were the front hubs(plastic)steering arms popped off, rear hubs(plastic)broke a few of these along with bending the outer hinge pins, front centre driveshaft wars very fast think it is due to the engine being sat more forward and the angle of the front driveshaft going into the cup....the most common issue of the brake/throttle servo burning out DID NOT happen to me but i did spend a lot of time setting it up and even dremeling the upper centre area, also the rear diffs appear to have problem's they go very slack in the cases after a couple of gallons and i have read that it eventually will cause problems with the diff itself" I wasn't aware that the Losi had UPPER hinge pins. I only have 1 and a 1/2 gallon through my 8ight T and my center shafts show no signs of wear. Any servo will have problems if you don't set your linkages/EPAs properly. As far as the 8ight breaking easy goes...PLEASE. The only time my 8ight has broken is when I do something extremely retarded that would break any truggy. My friend puts his 8ight through hell and it never breaks, it's funny because when we think his 8ight is broken for sure it isn't. As far as dremeling the "upper center" goes I didn't have to do that either but I'm assuming your steering horn/link is hitting the fuel tank guard? Anyhow, the 8ight is a great truggy and I'm more and more impressed with it every time I drive it. The Mugen is nice too but most hobby shops don't carry replacement parts for them well, at least around here they don't. They'd be like "Mugen... what's that?" Okay, I exaggerated a bit but my local shops here in Chicago sure don't carry parts for Mugen even if you don't need them as they're pretty tough truggies but so is my 8ight unless I get a little crazy.
