Thomas This is looking like a hot F14........ Looking like what I see at Ocean where they have some old F14 on displays... Now all you need is some resigns, cloth some shake and bake and puff a fuse comes out..lol If only it was so easy can not wait to see how you will be doing this complex a fuse Anne

RE: 1.4.5 Scratch Build of the F104 Starfighter
I have not figure out where the CG will be as yet once I start with the fuse I will have a better idea...No I never knew that they did a 1/4 scale version of the F104 Anne
ORIGINAL: jonastecknare It doesent matter how many models of the 104 we have seen. It is always a cool project! And a scratchbuild! Hats off! Im doing a 104 of my own, roughly half the size of yours. Scale size wing, but thicker profile (yeah i know i am a whimp) Plan is to stuff a BVM fan into it. But i have a problem! CG, where is it supposed to be? I have heard different things about this, some even in front of the wing. Do you or anyone know of a safe CG position for he F104? Have you seen pics of Wolfgang Weber and Heiko Höfts quarterscale starfighters? Both now sadly destroyed. They were awsome! Jonas
I am really looking forward to building my first jet a lot to learn but I hope to be able to help newbies to the jet scene understand some of the things we all need to know. I also hope this will inspire others to come up with some new jets that we have not seen before Anne

1.4.5 Scratch Build of the F104 Starfighter
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><meta name="ProgId" content="Word.Document"><meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 12"><meta name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 12"> I finally decided to build one of these jets the sexy F104 Starfighter. I know it has been done before but not for some time and I love this plane. So a couple weeks ago, I asked Butch (B1B Bomber www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4672497/anchors_4672497/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#4672497) if he had plans for this jet and to my surprise, he did. At 1.4.5 scale, the fuse 145.78” long and 58” inch wingspan. This larger version of a model that we have all seen before. This will be a composite fuse, wings, stab. This is my first scratch build of a jet; previous built mostly WW II planes. <![endif]></meta></meta></meta></meta>
