RE: painting question w/ HVLP gun
Nothing wrong with your gun! Thin the paint till the spider web stops and then a little more. Do tests each time and keep an eye on viscosity for next time. Test viscosity by eye simply by putting a stick into the paint and watch the drip. Too thick will create slow drips right amount will run off the stick freely. Use thin coats!!

RE: DL-50 engine
Hi guys, now that the Velocity Stack question has been answered, here is my next one. We all agree that some form of kill switch is a must have and the Opto Kill is probably as good as you can get. Now, what about a POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM / Blue Box / which sends an amplified but measured signal to all survos? I do not use one with my DL50 planes. I simply go off the receiver like i do in Glo 40 size planes. I have had no problems yet but I sure would like to know if I am taking a gamble. My ignition system and my RX system are independant with seperate batteries for each. What are your thoughts on POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS???

Regarding VELOCITY STACKS. Some engine manufacturers put them on, others do not. What is the verdict? Are they of any benefit? Should I bother to get one?

Guys does it make a dif. to the rpm if you use the heavier laminated Xoar 22x8 in comp. to the lighter beechwood Xoar? I'm using the laminated and the best I can get is 6820. Any ideas here?

RE: DL-50 engine
One of my JTec bolts has ended up stripping the thread inside the head, for what reason I am not sure but I have a strong view that it was because I left out the gasket and only used the red silicone, hence the expansion contraction differential had no tolerance in compression when the engine warmed up. What's the best solution to fixing the problem?

RE: DL-50 engine
Ladys & Gentlemen Does your DL50 lack some RPM? Would you like to have it run cooler? Would you like to make this great little enging last longer? If your answer is Yes, the try this fuel additive at 1% of fuel volume. Go to: [link]http://chorney1954@bitronglobal.biz[/link] Watch the Videos and you can buy it at Wholesale!

RE: DL-50 engine
Howdy folks, I recently came accross a fuel additive that has really made a differece to my DL50. A mate introduced me to a Canadian product that goes by the name of "Bi-Tron" It is a petrolium base product which is added to your fuel at a rate of 1 to 2%. It is attracted to all the hot spots in you engine and treats the friction surfaces for better lubrication. What I have found is as follows: 1.. Rpm increased by 170 2.. Engine temperature dropped by 18C 3.. Quiter running engine 4.. Better fuel efficiency The Bitron company guarantees it will not harm your engine in any way, on the contrary they claim it will improve the engines life expectancy and performance. I've been using the stuff for 6 months now and I'm Sold on the product so I now use it in all my vehicles, mowers and gas aircraft engines. To find out more about this stuff go to [link]http://chorney1954.bitronglobal.biz[/link] If you hunt around on the site for the Bronze Package, you will be able to buy it at wholesale. It's not expensive but it sure make a difference in my DL50 and all other engines.

RE: DL-50 engine
WOW! is all I can say. Got my DL50 this week from DL Australia.com. It's a great engine and I was pleasantly surprised that I got a bunch of small spare parts with it which was most unexpected. I have put 2 liters through it and find that it is running better and better. The engine was supplied with 2 plugs, both Chinese no name brand which seem to have a very short life before they start missing and running bad. Is this normal? Are they crap plugs or am I just unlucky?

RE: DL-50 engine
Howdy All. I have read through most of this thread and have found little to no reference to "Timing" on the DL50. Most other engines can be advanced and retarded to gain optimum hp yet carburetor settings are all that's referred to for optimizing the DL50. Is the timing fixed so it can not be changed? or is the factory setting always perfect?

RE: Brillelli 366GT *60cc*
Hi Waggs, you seem to have issues with a lot of minor problems which tell us all that you have a lot of faith, will, and ambition but little knowledge. May I suggest you do 1 of the following: 1.. Send it back to Scott requesting he gets it right for you. 2.. Find your local small engine man (lawn mower repairer ect) he will spot the problem quickly. I was in a similar situation some years ago and the local guy got me on track ASAP

The old saying is "Dreams are Free" and so it seems it will be with service from Copperhead aviation. Tim is not responding although I bet he has been reading this for some time. The lack of response is a clear indicator that Tim is is trouble and our warranty promises are out the door. I hope I'm wrong, but somehow the lack of response tells me otherwise. Settle this once and for all GET BACK TO THE FORUM TIM!

RE: Copperhead Aviation Venom 45-30
No I think the Venom 45 is a brilliant piece of engineering in the making. Sure it's got bugs and we can all understand that new product can only develop by addressing the existing problems to get ahead. However, lack of communication and the loss of a superb engine brain like Mark Fuess in regards to warranty, is just plain suicidal. Since Mark left the team, as indicated some posts above. Tim's communication has also deteriorated. Maybe he is over committed by spreading himself over too many business avenues, short of capital or plain bi-polar! I hope he snaps out of it and gets back to the forum with some positive input otherwise we can say AMEN to a brilliant experiment, the venerable Venom 45 '

RE: Copperhead Aviation Venom 45-30
With Tim's absence in reply on these posts it seems that it is Amen to the Venom 45 production line. Sorry to surmise that as it's a great engine in the making. Teething problems we can all understand and somehow mutually resolve yet lack of communication is a death wish in the making!

Where re you Tim? Thought you would be right there responding to this line of questioning. NO longer working with Mark? Now thats a great loss! Mark more than anyone would have contributed to a lot of sales for you with his great Tech Notes and understanding mature. I tell you for a fact that it was Mark's write up of the V45 that got me in to buy one!
