RE: GAS/GLOW HOW TO....
ORIGINAL: spaceworm
ORIGINAL: The Flying Farmer In order to maintain integrity, I opted to grind down a glow plug wrench instead of the adapter. Mine is from Gene Barton. His adapter puts the bottom of the plug flush w/ the cylinder, thus the need to grind a wrench. http://www.genebarton.com/accessories.html
A nut driver (Spintite) is easier to use

Is that an Ultra Spad Stick I see?[>:] Spads rock.
ORIGINAL: jrjr2u Remember this 25cc homey from the homey thread? I finally maidened it. It ran really well. Initially I set it at 3 turns both high and low. Didn't seem rich at all, idles like a champ and transition is perfect. I did see a bit of smoke so I flew it just like that. Flight went great, engine ran great on GG, and when done, I still had mess on the side of the plane! Must be a bit rich but it sure has way more power than I expected. Its been stuffed, de squished, FB ring pinned, ported, exhaust opened, muffler gutted, timed, etc. OH and btw.... the silicone exhaust tubes we talked about before? They are still in fine shape!! Happy camper [:D]
RE: GAS/GLOW HOW TO....
Jrjr2u I too have a homey 25 on gas/glo I have to manually choke it to kill it. If yours is like mine, the carb can't close enough to kill it in my experience. BTW my engine is tuned correctly. Have fun and welcome to gas/glo[;)]

RE: GAS/GLOW HOW TO....
I just converted a homey 25. I love it! I was wandering if since there's no interference from the ignition, could I mount my throttle servo on the air intake shroud as I don't have the carb rotating piece? I could easily mount it on top of the black plastic of the original air cleaner and it would also act as a velocity stack? RE: Strange problem with Homie 30cc on gas/glow...
Hello, Im not sure, but did you turn around the carb for easier throttle linkage? If i remember correctly, there is a small hole between the crankcase to allow crankcase pressure to pump fuel to the carb. If the carb is turned and the hole is blocked, the engine will run for a little after being primed, but will then die b/c of lack of fuel pressure. It may stay running on straight gas b/c it takes more fuel to run the engine when using gas/glow than straight gas. It could also be siphining/gravity feeding gas from external tank which keeps it running. Hope to help, TFF

Hacker 30-28 installation
I am just getting into RC flying (after retirement)and have a Taylorcraft 450 ready for the motor and ESC but Hacker gives you NO installation information and for a total novice it is a guessing game. I have the cross member motor mount installed and the prop adapter on but I have a few extra parts which I don't know if I need to use or not?or where they go. I have 3 small horse shoe clip
