I used the Rexel unit after the pickup coil mount broke after I knocked the engine of the bench. Made up my own mount for the pickup. Cheers

Looks like the pulse is not working, what tubing are you using for the pulse, you need fuel tubing, looks like the same you used for the water. Cheers

I have been using the orange 9chn rx's for JR 2.4 for a few years now with no problems at all. I have got several of the 3chn rx's for spektrum and replaced the antenna with the 60cm from flysky so the antenna can still be put in the antenna tubes and have had on problems with range on them. Cheers

RE: Air retracts systems
ORIGINAL: ductedfan So, how did you make them out of car tire valves??? Thanks for the info.
I picked up some used tubless tyre valves at a tyre store for nix, used a wire buff to remove the rubber, then machined up a piece of brass to make a nipple and soldered it in the valve body, then fitted a new valve. If it starts to leak just replace the valve. With some valve bodies, you could make the tube nipple out of short pieces of brass tube. Cheers

I have ALIGN RCE-B6X voltage regulator (with built in voltage display) but it is for 2 cell Lipo and not 3 cells. I have a bunch of 3 cell Lipo at home that I would like to find a place for. Like I said, I will re-visit this project later but something inside me tells me that this will work. Best Regards

RE: Will this work?
Thanks Guys for all the input. I will leave this experiment alone now but will come back to it later. I'm still of the opinion that this should work because the ESC would be used as a BEC only. It will not power any motor but just the Rx with 4 standard servos attached.
ORIGINAL: joeflyer What's the BEC rating on those ESC's? Most of the ones I've seen are less than 4A. Most are fine for a foamy or light plane, but I'd be worried that it may not be enough to power your receiver and servos on a medium or larger plane, or especially in a jet with high current servos.  Joe
[image]http://www.e-fliterc.com/ProdInfo/EFL/250/EFLA1025-250.jpg[/image] Here are stats on it: 25-Amp Pro Brushless ESC Key Features Up to 25-amp continuous current with proper air flow Finned heat sinks for both the motor drive MOSFETs and dual BEC regulators to support up to 4 sub-micro servos Programmable motor braking Safe power-arm mode prevents accidental starts Programmable low-voltage cutoff with settings for 2-cell Li-Po (6V), 3-cell Li-Po (9V) or 70% of battery starting voltage Programmable throttle input range (1.1–1.9 ms or Auto Select) Auto motor shut down if signal is lost or there is interference Programmable timing—2 user-selectable ranges for use with a large variety of brushless motors Pre-wired connectors—E-flite EC3 on battery input and 3.5mm female gold bullets on motor output leads Soft start

I asked myself, how about using the extra batteries and ESC in my non-electric airplane. This is what I want to do: 1. Plug the Lipo battery into the ESC as normal 2. Plug the output that goes into the throttle channel of an electric airplane into my on/off switch in my airplane (it produces 5V) 3. Cap off the three wires that goes into an electric motor. So, what do you guys think? Is this doable or not?. I’ve already connected this to a voltmeter and it shows constant output of 5.2V

RE: Gas Jet Boaters
Hi All, Got out this morning at another site because of the wind. This is the site that I will be using for the jet boat as it's only 12" deep at it's deepest, at high tide it is about 18"deep, was almost low tide today. I replace the engine/jet conection after the last one broke, I also gave it 2 turns of up thrust with the adjuster, I may try it with 1/2 turn taken back, it is a bit flighty on high power turns. Most of the video is around 3/4 throtal. Cheers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGTmecPHIu4&feature=youtu.be

TACHO
Hi All, For those that have magneto ign and want a tacho to see how much the engine unloads in the air or just want to see the max rpm in the air just get a tacho used in boats for reading max rpm. Photos show one I use in my boats, don't know if thay would work on shielded HT cables as they pick up of the HT lead. Cheers
ORIGINAL: mickieb49 Oh i forgot, how did you secure the mesh on the inside of the hatch? The mesh is alloy flyscreen so it holds it's shape well. I could not find any light expanded alloy mesh down here anywhere. Cheers

Hi All, Got out on the water this morning for a run. The new pipe (hanson) will be great after I get it set, getting in excess of 17K rpm(17680) and I think I can get maybe another 1000 out of it. The air flow/cooling is fixed, now all I need is a good day to get out and really get it going. Only got a couple of runs before the rain came back.
