RE: TT Fuel Line
Is that glow proof??

RE: Thunder Tiger Fuel Line
Reason is, I'm putting togethere a Hobbico Twin Star and it has really really really small 4 oz tanks. The distance from the brass pick up tube in the stopper to the back of the tank is so short, the standard dubro and even better pinkish prather line is so stiff the clunk will not fall to the bottom of the tank..... My thought was the TT line, while it might soften quickly and suck shut, it's very thin and flexible. I wouldn't mind replacing it often if it means I get longer than a 3-4 minute flight on the TwinStar! Thanks for the link. Mac

RE: RC Flying Site near Deep Creek Lake MD
Thanks to all that viewed my question, no responses because there isn't one..... at least an AMA field. I've found a handfull of modlers that fly at soccer fields and such. They've just received permission to fly at a private field just this weekend, maybe we need to form a club if it goes well.

RE: Servos and plane...
In general if the mfg doesn't tell you the requirements, you should have at least 1 oz-in of torque for every square inch of control surface, minimum.

RE: Super Tigre 40 problems
I found my ST 40 full of metal shavings in the carb and the intake portion of the crank. In the end I could never get it to run right all the time with out fiddling with it, that was years ago and since I've bought nothing but OS and Saito glow engines. Just my 2cents. For $15 more you could have an OS 46 LA, I still have this engine from my trainer in a sonic 25 low wing (fun fun fun), many gallons of fuel, never a problem to start or run.

DX7 w/ AR7000 Rx
I'm trying to set up my radio with a Pawnee 40 without using a Y harness for the flaps. I have the "normal" wing selected. Individual servos on all surfaces except elevators which are split and mechanically connected at the servo end of the pushrod. Anyway, I have the right flap plugged into the Aux 1 and the left flap into the gear channel. I have the gear (slave) mixed to the flap. However the gear sw still makes the left flap move and would if I let it, damage the flap since they don't go up past level. Do I have the servos plugged into the right channels? What mixes do I need to get this to work? Can I make the gear sw "inactive" As a note, I had the "flapperon" wing type on and the right alieron was also controlled by the flap switch......... Ugggggg...........this is the first complicated model I've used this radio for so any help would be appreciated. Mac

RE: Funtana 90 Extended Cowl
Nitro - yep..... i bought and put in the 140 cuz the 110 was backordered forever and the weight really wasnt that much, 4 oz maybe?? i even ended up buying longer gear to keep the 18" prop the 140 liked off the ground, too much prop and the wimpy F90 fuse tore out the LG twice before i got enough wood/epoxy in there to hold it then i just said enough and pulled it. recently saw were someone said a ys 140 is like a "normal" 180 4s..... i'd say TRUE. now i need a new air frame, any suggestions?

RE: OS Max
Is the castor oil % in weight or volume? Should I just get the Klotz Castor and add it to my Wildcat Premium fuel? It's 15% nitro. I actually found the manual in the box, not sure why I didn't look there earlier, but it list the part number for the O ring I need to replace. Mac

RE: OS Max
Thanks Doc, I ended up heating the engine up with my covering heat gun and wah-la! I moves now and I took out the sleve, doesn't look bad. The engine is a bushing engine, so what to do then? Is it worth taking the crank out? Also, what is the best way to get the connecting rod off the crank pin?? Mac

OS Max "Max-S 35 R/C" - Old Engine
Lookin' for some help. I bought a bunch of old R/C stuff (planes, engines, radios) from someone who got out of the hobby in the 70's. I bought it mainly because there were 3 new in the box and one old engine, which is stuck. Question is how do I clean this puppy up and it looks like I need a new "O" ring for the carb. Carb has the number "31" embosed just below the "O.S." and there is a "1" on the back side. I checked the OS website, only thing I could find was the engine was first made in 1964 based on the pictures they have. Any help on this is much appreciated. Maybe if someone know the O-ring inner diameters of current engines I could match it up and buy one of them? Mac
