RE: RC Pilot 50cc Build
AirTech after moving back the firewall did the engine end up in the center of the cowling. I read in the manual that the engine cowl has the 2 degree ofset already built in.

RE: 50cc QB 260 build thread
I understand about the impatient part. I have a new OMP Pro Yak and I am already looking at my next plane. I think it is a sickness i (we) have. I grew up in Ca. The Northridge area in Southern California. Tampa is home now. That Edge looks sharp especially the green one. I was serious looking into a canister or pipe, so I would not have to hack up the engine compartment, but from all the post the performance gain on a can is less than the stock DL 50 exhaust. The tuned pipe are just too much money. Talk to you later . Mark

RE: DL-50 engine
What about a tuned pipe or can muffler. Does a tuned pipe give the mid range or just top end.[:o] I have been thinking of replacing the stock DL 50 exhaust with a pipe of some kind but I am not sure what to get.

OMP Pro Yak
I ordered a OMP Pro Yak ARF and I am getting my parts in order while I wait for it arrive. I have a Saito 82. I am debating between HiTec servos either 5625 or 5645. What would be better?

RE: Dave Patrick Edge
Thanks for all the help. I got the plane control surfaces all set up. I decided to take out the choke servo and usa a manually opperated system instead. I have ran three tanks if gas through the plane for break in. I do not think I can wait any longer to fly this plane. I think it will be ok. I plan on taking it easy for the first few flights anyway.

RE: Dave Patrick Edge
Hey thanks for the conversation Joe. I have almost completed the build. The only problem is that I do not have a manual. Therefore, I do not know what the servo throws and expo. are recomended. If any one has a Dave Patrick Edge 540T manual with the settings your help is greatly appricated. I have found out through others and RCU that 5" is a good starting piont for the CG. With a DL50 ready to fly my plane weighted in at 15.4 lb. Thanks Mark

RE: DL-50 engine
I just installed my DL50 and a bit confused. The fuel tank has a pick up line and a vent. In my gas boat the vent or pressure line comes from the tune pipe. The DL50 muffler does not have a barb fitting on it. My question is: becaues the carb has a pump does the tank get pressurized from the muffler or is this not needed and the line just a vent.

RE: Dave Patrick Edge
The recieved the DL50 yesterday. I think it will great for this plane. The mounting went smooth as, not silk but butter LOL. I still need to mount the servos. That will be tomarrow. Do you think a 22X8 prop will have enough ground clearence? Also for the electronic igniton, DL50, can I use a 4.6 volt pack or should it be a 6 volt.

RE: Dave Patrick Edge
I am leaning toward a gas engine for several reasons. The sound of course. A gasser rumble is just so cool! If i get another plane I will have more options with a gas engine. Of course opperating cost. BME 50 Sport or BME 50 Classic or Brison: The sport is rated at: 5.2 hp and weighs 2.94 lb. The classic is rated: 5.5 hp and weighs 3.25 lb. Brison 26 lbs of thrust 3.25 lb.

RE: Dave Patrick Edge
The plane is set up for two servos on the elevator. They will be mounted in the tail with push rods. I was think about using Hitec 5645's all the way around. Should I use 4-40 size or is 2-56 ok? The ailerons have one servo per side.

Dave Patrick Edge
I just bought a DP edge and was thinking about a Moki 2.10. I think the plane had a BME engine in it before. What engine would be better for 3D. Also what toqure servos will I need for the rudder, alleron and elevator? I wanted to use a 6 volt RX battery. I think it would be best to keep this plane as light as possible. Thanks for the help. Tribute CG
I have just completed my Tribute 36 with an OS 45. The manual recomended the CG should be 4 1/2" from the leading edge. I wanted to know if this is the best CG setting or if I should go a little back? Say maybe 4 3/4". What are the advantages to the CG further back. Any help is greatly appreciated. Mark
