RE: $500 Budget For RTR basher
ORIGINAL: Speed917 As per the rest of you Wonderful Helpful people i think you have all sold me on the MT4 G3 i spent some time looking into it and they seem powerful and durable. Although im eager and just want to pull the trigger on something i will wait but if my local hobby store i called to day is correct im waiting till dec?  I may just spend a couple hundred and get something to hold me over. Once again thanks for all the help i will keep posted the second i get my hands on this thing.
No problem. Glad we could help.

RE: $500 Budget For RTR basher
I REALLY think the OP should wait for the Thunder Tiger MT4 G3. If you had no luck with the 3 hobby shops you went to than why bother dealing with them in the future even if it is just for parts, order the TT from Tower and get parts from them as well. Sorry if my previous post seemed overly negative but when the common denominator is yourself you sometimes have to wonder why, at least the hobby stores said they would order stuff in for you if you'd like them to. I've never really seen the hobby shop as an advice giver, it often pays to do your research before you go in.

RE: Traxxas Summit
Hey Pyro have you heard anything about the new waterproof brushless system from HobbyWing? I'm tempted to try it out but I'm worried it might cog due to the fact it's sensorless, I've read over on URC that the motor is pretty smooth though. I can't find the combo on HobbyPartz but they're on ebay for around $160 with a program card. 120A ESC http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=278 2000kv Motor http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=241

RE: 360° Wraith.. a must see....
I saw the title and thought it might just be some guy filming while walking around his wraith but this... this is simply amazing!! Some of the angles and tracking shot style of footage you get with this rig are truly beautiful, couple that with the relaxing tunes you mixed in and I literally could feel my blood pressure dropping.

RE: $500 Budget For RTR basher
ORIGINAL: Speed917 All i can say is this site is Much better than any hobby store near me !!!!! I made my way to 3 different hobby store today and all they wanted to do was sell sell and sell. I asked similar questions that i had asked on this site and got nowhere. I know i said they favor Traxxas but holy lord it was Horrible !!!! All stores stock EVERY traxxas part i could have ever imagined and all i was told was traxxas is the best most reliable and nothing can come close to it. One store i did not even get help they just looked at me and said we can order anything you want when i asked questions it was like they were a deer in headlights. The one thing i walked away with today was one of my local shops has slot cars and now im buying one for my kid and probable myself since he loved them. As for me im worse off now than ever before. One of the hobby shops told me nitrous or nothing everything they had and worked on was nitro or gas and electric models were XL-5 or brushed, I simply said ''why not sell brushless'' the guy in store replied ''we dont want to lose our nitro customers '' and then proceeded in trying to have me buy something nitro. I was also told the vxl rustler was really the only way to go and then continued with we can order anything you want it will be here in 2 days which is great but they were No help in what i should be getting at all. Even when i spoke to the people in the store i believe i knew more than they did and i never even owned a hobby grade rc vehicle so im guessing if its not for all of you im not going to have much luck! ... Also the models they had in the store were in faded boxes from 2005.
Naive much. You sound like the kind of customer hobby stores dread, the guy who knows it all and who asks all the annoying questions.

RE: Please move to traxxas monster truck forum!
I feel kinda bad for the previous owner, he sold it based on bad information and got ripped off. In saying that if he didn't act like a bull charging at an open gate he might have been able to find the source of the problem very easily and still have himself a Summit. So what are you going to do with it crazy nick, turn it over for a quick buck or join the Summit crowd?

It's just that last time I glanced at this thread I didn't even see the word Losi there, I can almost make out a 5 after the Losi but I think that's just in my imagination. [:)]

RE: After eight months in the hobby
1. I agree, the only thing keeping me away from racing is the thought that I will encounter some elitist types who aren't willing to share knowledge but who are willing to share their unwanted opinions. I've been looking at a few short course trucks but I'm unsure if I want to get one just to go to the one small public track to do laps by myself. I was looking at a Blitz but now the Team Durango DESC210R kit has my eye. 2. Cool, have fun with you're new Savage. 3. Good question. They seem to focus on their sponsored drivers of full size race vehicles, I've never even heard of any of their sponsored RC drivers. 4. If you say so. [:)] 5. Same here, if I don't go down the short course route I'll probably end up getting a TT MG4 G3 6. I got the same problem, a buddy of mine bought a mini E-Revo when I got mine a bit over a year ago but he dosen't really show any interest now. The company of like minded people makes everything more fun. 7. Just get it, you know you want to. It might be the nudge you need to get out and do some racing. Maybe I should follow my own advice and get that SCT. 8. I want to build too. 9. Plug and play baby, plug and play. 10. It sure is. I think most people who love the hobby have at least a few grand invested.

RE: Piggyback Shocks
ORIGINAL: Summit is Beast!!! Hmmm i was wondering that also. I wanted some for my summit.
There pretty much isn't any shocks on the market that are better for the Summit than the ones it comes with. If there's one thing Traxxas got right with the E-Revo/Summit it's the shocks.

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
The threaded part of the pivot ball is loose inside the RPM arm? [rant]That stinks, I just read the other day how RPM don't cover threaded out plastic. The more I read into the RPM warranty the more I don't like them as a company. The RPM axle carriers I bought are nothing short of a waste of money and RPM can easily use the loop holes in their warranty to not replace them, hell why would I even want a second set I would rather a refund if anything. I haven't bothered to tell RPM about the problems I had with them, what's the point, they will just blame me like they seem to do with most other people. Someone needs to kick them in their dirty danglers.[/rant]

RE: Racers v. Bashers (the vehicles not the drivers)
ORIGINAL: Eman77 I think we all need a reminder of what racing is all about. It was stated ever so eloquently in the 1990 movie Days of Thunder: Harry Hogge: Cole, you're wandering all over the track! Cole Trickle: Yeah, well this #@$@$ just slammed into me. Harry Hogge: No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he *rubbed* you. And rubbin, son, is racin'. [8D]
Oh and how could we forget this piece of racing wisdom. "Speed. To be able to control it. To know that I can control something that's out of control." Cole Trickle ...I don't know whether to cry or fist pump.

That sucks. I wanted to buy an XS before they came out. I'm glad I didn't, they have ALOT of problems. Maybe you should sell it and get something without the curse.
