RE: Dune Runner Powerless
Most of us are more experienced in the smaller scale vehicles. You may have better luck getting help in the giant scale forums.

RE: New Backdraft 8E Problems
It sounds like your batteries are not holding a charge. Try different batteries? The LVC is there to save your LiPo batteries from discharging to a level that may damage them. In your case the voltage on the batteries may already be to low to meet the required amount.

I was drawing a picture to help you understand as you replied. Sounds like you got it down, but I can't allow this masterpiece to go to waste so I'll post it anyway. I'm assuming that's how it connects to the board anyhow.

RE: Sumo help
Well you have two wires soldered onto your motor. Those two wires need to be switched around. You may switch them at the point that they meet the motor, or you may switch them where they are soldered to the board. You could even cut the wires and solder one to the other. You sort of have a (+) charge going to the (-) side of the motor and a (-) charge going to the (+) side of the motor if that makes more sense.

Everything you said was factual I was just trying to reinforce that it will be far more difficult and expensive that it's worth. I have an E-maxx with the dual 21t motors and it may be the most dissapointing vehicle I ever bought. Sounds like it's going to fall apart everytime I hit the brake.

RE: Traxxas motors. Need help fast!!!
Also it should be noted, "Titan 12T motors are intended for use in single motor and single battery pack applications, up to 8.4 volts. Traxxas does not recommend the use of Titan 12T motors in dual motor vehicles, such as the E-Maxx, Villain, or Villain EX." Taken from the Traxxas website.

RE: Which Redcat?
Something to consider when deciding on the Caldera SC. You probably won't find many if any bodies that will fit. I believe it is quite a bit smaller in size compared to a traxxas slash and all of the other popular short course trucks on the market. Other than that I think the Caldera vehicles perform well and I definitely recommend electric for children.

RE: Troubleshooting steps if nitro won't start?
It can still be lots of stuff and it's also possible that the owners messed up their engines. I have personally never taken one beyond disrepair. Redcat support probably won't be able to do much good over the phone but if you send it in they should be able to help. For you, as a shop owner, I strongly suggest picking youself up a nitro. They are tons of fun but also a very useful tool in learning about the hobby.

RE: Troubleshooting steps if nitro won't start?
The carb is held in by a pinch screw that will on occasion shake itself loose causing the carb to become loose. You will pull to much air into the engine. Hold your finger over the exhaust and pull a few times or pull the fuel tube off the exhaust and blow into it to get fuel to run to the carb. Once it hits the carb blow just a little bit more to make sure the fuel is getting all the way in. You may flood the engine doing this but thats an easy enough fix. You can also try taking the glow plug out and dropping a few drops of fuel into the cylinder. If you do all this stuff with the engine needles set at factory settings you should get it to start. Does the engine fire at all right now?

RE: Troubleshooting steps if nitro won't start?
First thing I always do is put a brand new glow plug in it and make sure my ignitor battery is fully charged. My rc8 is very termpermental with even slightly used glow plugs and sometimes won't start even if the glow plug appears to be glowing outside the engine just fine. Also check to make sure the carb is not loose and the idle screw is set with a gap of about 1 mm. Edit: One more thing, make sure fuel is actually making it into the carb.

RE: Use Marvel's Mystery Oil as After Run Oil for Tornado S30?
Pretty much what Dad said except I live in the midwest (humidity here gets sort of rough) and use WD-40 in the engine after every day I run it. You are putting lube in the engine to keep the left over fuel from drawing moister and gumming up the inside. So to answer your question, MMO should be fine. It may be a little difficult to start when you first take it out after putting it in the engine, but thats common with most after run oils. You will also find that everyone has a different opinion on filter oil. I run sae 40 motor oil on my filters.

check for exhaust, fuel tank cap, and fuel tube leaks. Also try changing your glow plug if you haven't already.

RE: glow plug included with shockwave?
It was hard to pull most likely because you flooded the engine. Remove your glow plug, turn the car upside down, and pull on the pull start a few times. Generally you will have some nitro come out of the exhaust with whatever you use for after run oil. I would turn the car upside down and pull the pull start a few times immediately after placing the after run oil in the engine. The oil just needs to coat the inside of the engine to keep fuel from collecting moister and gumming up the inside. I keep several filters with me while I run and change them about every hour of run time and depending on how dirty they get. Before I place oil on them I wash them in water and dawn dish liquid and allow them to dry. Make sure you only place enough oil on the filter to make it greasy to the touch, any more and you won't pull air through it. I would check your batteries, the servo wires, antenna, and trim settings on the radio to try to fix the problem you are having with your throttle.

I haven't the slightest idea. If you have messed with the trims the next step, I would say, is replacing the receiver. It doesn't seem like it would be the problem but it's a cheap fix. http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-gtr3c-receiver.html

I don't know anyone that ships that far, thats not to say one doesn't though. Do you have a local hobby shop? I like to look through bodies and make something fit and I'm sure you can find a 1/8 scale truggy body that is close.

RE: Making your own nitro fuel?
Yes glow fuel is just another term for nitro fuel. It's a mix of nitromethane, oil, and methanol I believe. You may save a little bit by mixing yourself but the start up cost is probably going to be a bit more. The benifit to buying premixed fuel is that it's easy and you get a fairly consistant result from it. As carslover mentioned, the cost really depends on how often you run it, but as far as the math goes 1 gallon is ~3785.4cc and the tank size (taken from redcat's site) on the shockwave is 75cc. So you will get about 50.5 tanks out of a gallon. Not sure what the average run time per tank is but my nitros get around 15 minutes maybe.

RE: new owner of a volcano pro
Like nitro said, the 2.4 RXs that come in the redcat models are cheap and fail pretty easily. I had the same thing as you described happen 3 times in a mini-t that I run with the FlySky 3 ch transmitter. I found a small break in two of my servo wires that caused it to short and burn up that channel on the RX, so check those before you dump any $ into a decent system. I have been running the same RX in it since i fixed the break. Can't go wrong with $7.50 receivers that fit in anything. Also, the spectrum should do great. I don't recommend the traxxas 2.4ghz. The older model had poor range, the newer one looks kinda neat if you feel like plugging an Iphone into it?
