RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum
I'll post a quick video when I can.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum
It seems the pitch control (right stick up/down) doesn't actually link to anything on my heli. I had a minor crash and I don't know if something fell off but I can tilt the blades and they don't move the servos at all. There are 2 knobs on the swash plate that have no arms on them, is this normal?

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum
If you turn up the throttle will your heli stay in position or drift and spin about on its own? It's tough getting used to the heli wanting to move on its own, still fun nevertheless.

RE: Best rechargeable batteries for TX?
I've only had them for a few days, but so far I haven't had to charge them again and I've been flying 2-3 batteries a day now. I'm content.

RE: CP Pro upgrades which first
Why would you need a better transmitter? It's a 6ch heli, why get a 7 or 9 channel TX? It doesn't make much sense if you only own 1 heli to get a 200-300 dollar TX.

RE: Best rechargeable batteries for TX?
I'm still sticking with my 30 batteries for 40 bucks. Fly for a few days, charge the batteries overnight, simple. The only time I need to wait for a charge is when I have a new gadget that needs batteries and then I have to charge them. The Falcon 40 has a charger and can charge the AA batteries (800mAh output/hr), so it can take 3 hours or so to charge 8 batteries. Pretty nifty.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum
Got mine today, definitely a sturdy and solid bird. Vibrates a bit before take off and is difficult to keep stable. The TX feels very cheap in comparison to the Blade CP Pro one. I had fun with this one but it's still a handful.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
Yeah, I balanced it and it's fine. Had to add some tape to the other blade and now it's smooth. Just need to get used to the controls, it's tough keeping the heli in one spot, it just keeps drifting in odd angles and I try micro-corrections but it just reverts back. I try setting the trim but again, it goes in other directions. I'm guessing it's me, but who knows :) I'm up to 2-3 batteries a day, no crashes today.

RE: Best rechargeable batteries for TX?
I bought 30 2500mAh AA rechargables off eBay for 40 bucks after shipping. After a full night's charge they are still going strong. Who knows how long they will last in a few months, but who cares, I have 30 of em.

RE: how do you hover?
Hovering in a 4x4 foot space isn't bad, hovering in one spot is damn near impossible for me. I can fly around for an entire battery just fine, but it's tough when the tail gets away from me.

RE: Retaining pin is stuck, now what?
Thanks, that worked. I had to use some manly pliers to rip it out. It was really bent up and I will be swapping it for a paper clip or some other soft metal.

Retaining pin is stuck, now what?
I wanted to balance my blades and when I try to remove the pin it won't budge. I'm being very forceful with these plyers and the little POS will not come out. I have a spare shaft at home that I can replace, but I still can't remove the blade assembly. I'm never using those stock pins again if this type of crap happens, I'll stick with paper clips. Any ideas on how to remove it?

RE: Blade CP Pro Hover Speed and 3-in-1 LED
Stock TX for me. I just added Super Skids V3, g90, and training gear. The guys at the LHS already upped the pitch a bit to get it to take off earlier, so I don't know why it's turning red :(

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
Same type of blades, different set. When one hit the boom it shattered a bit in the back. I ordered 2 sets of symmetrical and 1 set of flat bottoms and I just replaced the symmetrical with another one from the same order. I haven't balanced them yet, I will tomorrow. I'll try and take some video of how the blades move, I'll post it on Youtube or something tomorrow :)

RE: Blade CP Pro - Upgrade Battery
I don't think I need that charger just yet. I only have 1 battery :) I was planning on having 2-3 at most (1 charging, 1 cooling, 1 flying). As long as it works with my stock charger I'm happy. The only thing is I don't really know what to get. Are E-Power batteries good?

Blade CP Pro - Upgrade Battery
I am certain I asked this before but for the life of me I cannot find the thread (not in bookmarks either). Since I am getting the hang of my Blade CP Pro, I wanted to upgrade the battery or have an extra one to allow for longer flight sessions. I have no idea what to get or what I need. I have the stock E-Flight charger with the wall adapter and nothing more. I've looked up some batteries and they are 10c 15c and a variety of others, I have no idea what that means or which I need. My budget, as always, is limited so I'd like to get something decent but it doesn't need to be the best (Thunder Power). I've heard good things about E-Power but cannot remember where I saw them. Any suggestions?

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
It can hit the tail boom if I push down hard enough, but the front of the heli seems to lift up and the main shaft seems to bend, it definitely doesn't seem natural. Edit: Replaced the blades and now it vibrates like a madman. I adjusted the Proportional a bit and now it flies better. Went a whole battery in the air around me. Need to get used to the controls a bit more :) Pre-Flight came in so I can sim it up when I'm recharging.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
Er, nevermind on my last post about it causing hits. But it does tilt a lot. If the blades come out of position then they will hit.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
Cool, I guess my blades were too lose then. I'm not sure how tight they need to be. Also, the heli seems to tilt quite a lot. If I keep the blades on there, I can tilt the assembly (not moving the servo) and strike the tail. Is that normal?

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
Yeah, but the problem is that I was flying this last night just fine. I think I messed with the Proportional and Gyro on the 3 in 1, left the g90 centered, and that might be the reason for it but I don't know... foggy memory. I'll see if my Plasti-Blades are in and will mess with it more when I can. Sucks that it's acting up, I may just get the T-Rex if it's not as sketchy as this one. ;)

RE: Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
ORIGINAL: Tall Paul To check the raw gyro operation, -disconnect- the main motor. VERY Important! Turn on the transmitter, throttle at full down, throttle full down. With the chopper on a smooth surface... Increase the throttle until the tail rotor rotates. The rotation rate to the right should increase when you throttle up Left rudder should stop the rotation. Holding the heli in your hand... very carefully... slowly throttle up to tail rotor rotation, then move the nose sideways. Yawing the nose to the left, the tail rotor speed will increase. Yawing the nose to the right, the tail rotor speed will decrease.
Yeah, it does that just fine. I'll test it again with new blades because right now I have none on me :)

Blade CP Pro - Drifting to the left
My BCPP is drifting to the left (tail towards me) and I don't really know how to stop this. I was trying to hover a few inches above the ground and was having a tough time keeping it anywhere near me. I think my g90 gyro is out of whack because the tail would always drift away from me. When the heli was getting too far from me I cut the throttle and the blades hit the boom and snapped off, also damaging the fake carbon fiber plastic Super Skids thing. Any idea how to fix this? I have Plasti-Blades coming in in a few days and am thinking of taking the heli down to the LHS and let them do a tune up with the gyro, because I don't know what's up with it.

Thanks, I'll look into it, though I have no idea which parts I'd need to get. I still need to fix the g90 gyro on my BCPP.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Flight bLog
Hmm, the one I was thinking of was the T-Rex 450SE, but it's 500-600. The kits are completely barebones and would require a lot in parts to be complete. I think I'll stick with the BCPP for now, I just don't see myself investing that much in a heli.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Flight bLog
So you buy the kit and then buy all of the electronics seperately? I might get a job over Christmas break and just buy the pre-built one. I saw one at the LHS, it was all aluminum and blue, looked purdy. I think it was 300 or 400, I'll try and find it on eBay for less.

RE: Blade CP Pro - Flight bLog
Also, I'm not a true hobbiest yet, I'm just doing this because it's fun. I don't plan on going all out on these helis. If it's easier to fly, that's fine, but if it's only easier to do acrobatics, then it's a different story. I'm a computer guy, so all of my money usually goes into that. I've already bought the g90 gyro for the BCPP and am regretting it (buyers remorse). I don't think I have it set up properly because it doesn't keep the tail very straight. I'll have to fiddle with it tomorrow. It's a fun heli to fly and fairly easy, not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. I'm not following Radd's directions but I'm just going on instinct and common sense.
