RE: Uneven braking
If it is of the type of brake that uses an expanding O'ring, then you can use an O'ring lubricant, B.V.M. can sell you one. This usually improves things and and helps to prevent the wheels locking under braking. Ensure the brake lines to both wheels are the same length

RE: Jet Hints, Tips and Help :)
Jamie, siclick posted some good advice there, also you might consider joining the JMA (Jet modlers Association ) website is jmajets. Go along to some of the events see how others are installing their turbines, and support equipment. It really is amazing to see how fuss free the whole thing can be with the right equipment, and attitude. Be carefull it does come with a weatlh warning, and is highly addictive.[:D]

RE: New Sprite nano turbine. Now with video.
ORIGINAL: Jgwright Thanks everyone for the kind remarks I can give a little more information. Like all good projects this has been a collaboration and I have had help from a number of people and it has not been all just me. The engine idles at 80,000 and max rpm is 240,000 though I have run to higher rpm in testing. Currently the engine is on the heavy side but should end up under 400 grams. I have made 4 engines from the knowledge obtained from the first prototype. Fuel consumption will be much the same as for the first generation MW44 engines. The prototype flying was done with higher lube flow than was required as I was worried about starving the bearings. I have recently reduced the flow and that seems to be adequate and has reduced the consumption. At the time of the JetPower meeting I had only done some limited running and thrust was 2.2 Kg was easily obtained. Since then I have done a huge amount of testing and refining. It is amazing how such an apparently simple thing as our engine can be developed. As Jason says 2.75 Kg is being produced with the possibility of more to come. I still have some more work to do before I will be satisfied with it. It is astonishing that so much power can be delivered through such a small exhaust and that should make for the possibility of very fast airspeed. The results have far exceeded what I thought would be possible. The other thing that has suprised me is how much all the component costs add up to. Anyone that thinks the manufacturers are making a lot of money should do the sums! John
Very true John, a lot of people associate 'small' and cheap as being the same, however 'turbines' and 'cheap' do not go together well, and in terms of cost, less is very often more.

RE: Worlds Best RC Jet Pilot
I think it hard to put this particular accolade on any one persons shoulders, we have some fine pilots in our sport, too many to list, and the obvious ones being, Ali Machinchy, David Shulman, and like Jason said Mark Leavsley is always a contender, and any one who has seen Geoff White fly his particular style of smooth flowing aerobatics will agree he is up there with the best. RE: Snaprolls = bubbles?
D, It really does look like an air bubble went through, like you said once it has gone through, the evidence has gone too. Bit like full size piston engines and carb ice, it can fail the engine if you get away with it and land in a pasture the engine generally starts on the ground, and no faults found.[:o] Try a full power run with the model restrained on the ground and check for bubbles. Something else to consider, this was mentioned by Duncan on another forum, during aerobatics if the clunk line has aged or gone hard it can come out of the fuel momenteraly, thus sucking air. Regarding filters the Jetcat ones are generally good if like yours they are mounted vertically, now I know every one has an opinion on this, however myself I would rather not use an onboard filter as I buy clean fuel, filter it in to my fuel station, two filters on the fuel station, and in the model a BVM UAT, but as they say opinions are like @##$$!"% everyone has one.[:D]

Oliver, Thank you, impressive video too, certainly not short of power in that very hot environment. I noticed you use a transmitter tray, I used one too when I first flew fixed wing, found it very comfortable to rest my hands on the tray, must get another one. Alistair.
