RE: xxx sct ball diff pricing?
OK, if the outdrives and rings are the same as the XXX/T/SCT, then he should be gravy. ThunderbirdJunkie's only question is whether it comes with the HD thrust bearing and new style spring and the carbide balls...which would quickly eclipse the price difference. ThunderbirdJunkie would still jump on the $50 for the new diff. ThunderbirdJunkie can't find a parts breakdown for the High

RE: Smoking mamba monster ESC
ITBJHO, if you're not going to go Tekin, go Hobbywing or Dualsky...he's lost his faith in Castle's equipment, and quite frankly, they're not even that good of a value. The MMP is $120, but you can get a Duratrax DE210 for $80, and it'll actually work with a high draw servo and Spektrum Rx. Sadly, though, the good Hobbywing 1/8 scale ESC's aren't significantly cheaper than the RX8 or MMM, or even the LRP 1/8 speedo.

RE: Newbie
The E-Savage isn't particularly well supported for parts, and ITBJRC has been discontinued. The Savage XS is basically an overpowered ridiculously fun brick, and the Flux HP is an overpoewred, ridiculously fun brick that's twice as big. If you've got the pockets to drop about $800, get the Flux HP and a pair of Orion's 2 cell Flux direct fit batteries and bash away. If you can't swing that, the Savage XS is equally fun, but will require a speed control sooner than later.

Cheaper than building it out of parts, which is the only other way to do it.

[quote]ORIGINAL: controlliner On the Mabuchi Website, they quote 40-50 hours life on one of their 540 closed end bell motors. 7.5 hours is nothing. That's like saying a Kia Rio's engine should last 400,000 miles because a Mercedes Benz diesel does it with no problems.

RE: What would make truck drive slower (outside of battery)?
If you have a car that you drive every other day for 30 minutes at a time for a month that's 7.5 hours of runtime. That's freaking good time out of one of those crap stock closed endbell motors, and even a good brushed motor will need maintenance. Yes, your truck is getting slower because the motor is getting worn out.

RE: B3 vs B4
OG B4 vs late build B3, the B3 has an advantage on the track because when the B4 came out setups were still a mystery. Compare that B3 to a B4.1 Worlds car and it will drive like an ox cart. And yes, ThunderbirdJunkie will stand by his assertation that the B4/.1/WC/etc is a zillion times better in every way than the B2/3.

The B4 is head and shoulders more durable than the B2/3. ThunderbirdJunkie has owned and raced both. The nice thing is they still make parts for the B4; not the B2/3. Whenever AE is out of parts for the B2/3, they'll be gone forever. And don't even try to bring up that Thunder Tiger POS; the plastic isn't even remotely the same. Already went down that road.
