ORIGINAL: ROGER RUSSELL I am running a 20'' 8/14 pitch prop Another guy in my club has TF (kit built) 51 with same combo G62 and same prop He has to fly three clicks below full throttle so I can keep up with him and he has been clocked at 105 mph.
If you want to go fast (125+) Call APC and tell them you want a "T-6 racing prop". They are $25 and made exspecially for the G-62 to go fast. but you have to call them to order it. My Mustang has been clocked at 138mph in a slight dive last fall in Fayetteville NC at a Warbird fly-in on a cool day. Flying fast isn't everyone cup of tea but, I love it and so do alot of spectators.[:)]

Remember, The Full scale Mustang had very few revits that where visible. The ones you could see are mostly around the wing fillet and the hoz. stab. There are "fastners" on and around the cowling.

RE: TF FW190 A3 ARF
You can alway speed up or slow down any plane with "proper" propeller selection. Engine size doesn't have much to do with it. (as long as the engine is capable of flying the plane to start with). I've notice the Top-Flite demo guys like speed. [:D] Me too.

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
Putting a volosity stack inside the fuse will not stop the pressure differances. The little hole on the side carb plate at the is the culprit. You can soilder a tube onto the cover and run some tubing off of it into the fuse. Volosity stacks are to help smooth the air out before entering into the carb. They will help an engine run better. however, I believe they have the most to gian when the carb is sticking out the side of the fuse in "open air" Also some engines when ran at high RPMs will blow fuel back out the carb while running. If it is pointing into your fuse you will be soaking your insides. My ZDZ 80 does this in my corsair and my G-62 with velosity stack blows fuel down the side of the fuse. It's not much, but in the corsair it made a mess inside before I noticed it. I believe that most all engines need to be baffled in some way. That way you move the air over the fins of the cylinder as efficiently as possible. Also this will help stop the over pressuazation on the cowl causing erratic running and high engine temps. Kelly

Here's a Royal Corsair built by my flying buddy, He's a master builder. I think it was 48lbs. Sadly this plane was heavly damaged by it's new owner when a bolt got sucked into the engine.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)
I use half flap when it's windy. As for the pitch change, I've never noticed it. As a make my approach with flaps down I'm flying the plane to the ground anyways. I never think about it. I do have my flaps on a 3 position switch but they are timed to go down in about 5 seconds. (half second up) Maybe that is why I never noticed any pitch changes. Kelly

RE: G-62 w/APC 20x15 racing prop
ORIGINAL: warhawk demon tunderbolt. are you running a 20x12 now.. if so what brand??
It's a APC T-6 racing prop. It doesn't have any numbers on it. However, Bill at APC (I think that was his name) said it is around a 19.5 x 14. This prop was designed to run on the G-62. He told me that the AT-6 Texan class were hitting 150+ on this prop. While he knows more about their props than I do. I do find it hard to believe that a "Box Stock" G-62 on a 100" Texan could out run a slightly "hoped up" G-62 in a sleek 85" Mustang. But I have been wrong in the past. (just look above[:D] ) You have to call APC to order this prop. It is not listed on there website. Last ones I ordered, they where $25. Also Dave Brown can now custom cut a spinner to fit this prop. Just tell them it's a T-6 prop. They know what you mean. Kelly BTW a 20x12 APC is a fast prop, but it can't quite hang with a T-6 prop.
