RE: Flyeagle F18F
See my converted Behotec C50-F with Lado's electric actuators. I decided to convert the originally pneumatic system at my 2009 - FA18 F Fly Eagle Jet, with the electric one. All the three legs are running at 2s Lipo (separate power supply) due to the heavy legs. At 7,4 V the drive has no issue with the heavy weight of the legs. Still using the pneumatic system for the gear-doors. Sequence between gear up and closing doors is about 14 seconds - regulated by a jettronics doorsequencer. RE: Salto H101
...unfortunately I ment I started with 600 meters above ground level that means - rope release of 1800 feet ! - so I catually started my aerobatics program at 1800 = 600 meters and ended up at 3.5 minutes... Anyway the salto has no flaps - so I have not the possibility to mix flaps to aileron .(.... so what I will go on with turbulators at the wings...

Salto H101 "to fast down during aerob."
..just had a couple of flights with my 5 meter Krause Salto - and it seems (that's my "feeling") this glider is a little bit to fast on the ground after releasing the rope of the pulling bird. Nevertheless I'm just getting about 3,5 minutes of flight not more above 600meters groundlevel. Have also the info that the Salto weights about 12kg - seems a little bit to much - but I can't reduce the weight. Does anybody of you have any suggestions what to optimize to make this glider "run" more stabel through aerobatic manuvers ? anyway I also fitted some "turbulators" at elevator. Perhaps the evaluation of the vid can give some hints how the bird behaves - have a look at the "heavy" aileron rolls. ...may it even be to much tail heavy ? RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello F18 Community - the last flights i was recognizing a leaking of my gear "air system" pressure was decreasing about 1 bar within 5 Minutes after checking the air - pipe system of the gear I noticed, that the left main gear circle was leaking somewhere - due the gear was "in". Today I disassembled the left gear - seems that the nipple is not sealed properly - due to pressure with my fingures to the nipple it seems to leak as soon the system is pressurised. Couldn't find out if the nipple is screwed or something . ..anyway now I added some uhu 300 24 hour epoxy glue at the bottom of the nipple - hoping it's going to seal.... Does anyone of you can give me a hint how to seal the existing nipple ? - it seems there is leaking between the nipple and the cylinder housing...

Durability of Kero...
Hello Jet Volks - So far I want to storage my kerosene in the cellar and wanted to know your experiences - how's about the durability of the kero - Can you storage it without any issues in dark environment and how long ? Or is it even better to storage it in bright areas ? Hint: I've already mixtured it with oil and antistatic - perhaps this is making a difference ? - I don't know. Would be nice if you give some suggestions.

RE: Flyeagle F18F
..OK nuno, I unfortunately got it wrong - didn't know, that the main gear sits less deeper in the fuselage than the stock one :(... anyway here is a vid including my flight no. 8 with landing ... all stock ! The bird is equipped fully with AR9100 Spektrum receiver hitec servos and a P200 - which makes it quite ballistic in the sky - but the power is needed for the rough gras track. In my opinion the normal main gear handles quite well even on gras, as long as you don't "race to much" around on the runway. As soon as I saw the different problems with the stock pipe, I went for an original JetCat central single pipe (Titanium) even more power and only a small optical issue for "scale freaks" - but performance is unbeatable with it. Up to now what makes me concern: After a couple of flights, the gear mechanics is getting more and more "slope / play" - the material of the alu is to weak ! Anyhow before winter starting here in middle Europe - I disassemble the gear and let it modify with better material - so it can even withstand 70 landings .... Check the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwsh3NECLD8

RE: Flyeagle F18F
..sorry PIlots, I just don't get it - in the past everybody complained about the negative AOA, because of the main gear is "to high" or better said front wheel gear to "low" - now FEJ delivers the main gear mod with a lower version - so It should be alright - is it ? normally the tendency of the plane is NOT to jump, if the plane has positive angle ... and thats the case with lower mains.. anyway - I'm all happy with the 1st gear version even on gras - no mod ! - only to the front wheel - All you have to do is not driving racing car with the plane on the ground - just take of an land - an keep it straight - and there will be no wingwalk at all !

Do you think it's a reliable servo in a 23 kg Jet application - I just heard some rumors about this servo to burn down during flights :( Could my thoughts be a reasonable issue in flight.

Degassing/Ventilation of a P200 - with strainer mounted !
Hello volks, I'm just in the final installation phase of my brand new P200 in an F18. Due to the fact, that dirt can go into the intake, I'm using a strainer directly mounted at the beginning of the turbine - so it's not possible for me to disconnect the turbine fuel line directly connected to the festo plug at the turbine itself. So during the degassing/ventilation procedure before first running the turbine it is recommended to directly disconnect this line at the festo plug at the turbine - are there any issues, if I disconnect it app. 10cm in front of this direct intake - so there is still a little air volume in the line during first startup ? Or could this caus any problems ?

RE: Flyeagle F18F
...I'm lucky that I didn't receive my P200 yet, so as it looks like, I'm going for a "single" pipe version with a centric exhaust on the rear - just some little mod on the cones and rear part of the plane, but the sideeffect will also be a higher distance to the serves in the frame, and a better efficency of thrust. Let me know, if somebody else is going for this alternative solution. In general FEJ is doing some really ba approach to bring this high basket of planes into the market: 1st fault: ....they don't take care of mandatory functions like gear, and reliability of important parts as seen in the pipe failure... 2nd fault: as mentioned often time is this topic - customer has to do the R&D job for them - that's bad business and will lead to intense market loss in the future - I'll be for sure ! The aircraft - frame rudder, wing etc... is quite fine even the finish is unbeatable for a ARF Jet like this - anyhow if the technical things fail - they won't get any friends to their brand either...

...sorry pilot I don't want to bother you, but it seems that my post 1322 got lost in the hight piror discussion you have with the pipe :( - now I more lost confidence in FEJ products which seems besides construction problems also to have really bad material problems too - anyway I would be happy to hear some suggestions for my gear issue during re and detract hitting the doors.

RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello pilots - rigth now I had a bad experience making a "dry test" of my gear and pneumatic stuff: During gear in operation, I have been frightened by a loudly noise - it was left main weel hitting one of the ball linkages of the outer rear door on the left hand - see attached image. I was confused, because I didn't have this issue before - so the reason is / was just the damper of the left gear, which it seems had not been released during the bird standing for 24 hours on my floor :( so anyway I recognized that both springs ?? - dampner of the both main wheels really work tight or let's say bad - they don't release reliably. Problem right now: I don't trust this bad damping / spring release behavior - what could happen during flight when the same happens. Pressure loss etc... - door will break... and so on.. never the less I'm still searching for alternative solutions to avoid this problem - 1. easiest way: just lubricate the cylinder ?? - or even disassemble the gear to make it work "smoother" ? 2. Move the complete main gear 10mm in the rear direction to avoid hitting the linkage ? 3. Or just disassemble the complete outer rear door ...sorry volks, but this is a bad construction problem - Did any of you had the same issue - solutions ? Or just risk the fun of not having a released spring on the main gear after take off ? Regards Stefan

RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello top guns, I'm now also in the final phase of contruction of my F18 Tier Meet - Fantastic bird :) anyway I considered, that if I activate pressure of about 8 bar to the main wheel brakes - the strength is very poor - I can turn the wheel with less force. Is this really normal, that the brake performs so weak, or ist there a hint, I can increase the force ?? I don't know how it will handle on the runway ?? One more thing, the spring of the main gear seems also to be a little bit less "on force" The left one is dampening more than the right one - is there also any possibility to set the stregth of the main gear springs ??
