RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Hey Guys, I haven't died either, just lurking for the past month or so. I've had almost no chance to fly in quite a while. This week looks really busy just like the last three months, but I'm going to try and get out anyway and burn through a couple batteries. I got my wide angle HD key cam the other day. It seems to work pretty well. Maybe I'll get brave enough to video my next flight... it's been so long hopefully you won't see a crash! Joaquin

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part II
Hey Guys, I've been lurking for the past month or so and still enjoy the posts. I haven't flown in quite some time. Too much wind and work. I swear this is the longest windy season we've had in years. I may just have to gut it out and fly! I accidentally ordered one of those 808 #16 V2 cams this morning. My original 3 have seen better days, and now that my coworker is learning to fly, he wants to 1st person vid his attempts. I don't think the cam is going to last long... (many crashes). Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still alive and checking in on you each morning... and getting jealous! Happy Flying! Joaquin

RE: Hk600 tail not holding
Leader Hobby has probably the best Futaba GY-520 clone out there. It's cheap, usually about $20.00 US but sometimes it's hard to get stuff from them. I use one on my HK-500 and two 450s and it works great. Joaquin

RE: My 450 tail jerks violently all of a sudden!?
Jerking to the right (clockwise) seems to be a gyro problem to me. A slipping belt or drive gear would cause the heli to turn left, unless the slipping is fairly constant, then occationally catches. Joaquin

Try moving the control rod on the servo horn out to the next hole. This will give you more stroke and may solve your problem. Joaquin

RE: What is this v2.0, with pictures this time
No problem. Looking from the right side of the bird, the tail rotor should turn counter clockwise so the blades are moving into the main rotor's wash. Joaquin

You're going to want to check the rotation of your tail rotor. The blades are on backwards. Joaquin

I searched all of everyone's gyro input thus far and starting to get an idea of what people are liking so far. Futaba 401 and/or the GY520 are standing out at this time. Roger
I have both the Futaba GY520 and the LH GY520. The Futaba is outstanding but pricy. The LH gyro works very for it's price. Joaquin

I plan to watch bikinis and drink beer till monday. On another non-heli note, I got the nerve to test hop my cessna 182 yesterday. It was windy outside so I thought I'd do a quick hop out the bay door into the parking lot. One thing I noticed about fixed wing... there's no spooling up and knowing weather you can fly or not. You pretty much have to fully commit and hope you can fly. Pretty intense for the first timer! Joaquin

I don't remember that part, but I'll try to attach a manual that should get you close... Stand by. OK, the file was too large, but if you do a search for the Trex 500 ESP manual it should be really close to what you have. Joaquin

RE: First flight of the year and tail way out of trim... wtf?
Put your Tx in Rate Mode and zero the trim. Then adjust your tail servo's position on the tail boom until the heli hovers without wanting to piro. You should be able to get it fairly stable. Then when you fly in HH mode it should be locked in with almost no trim applied. You may have to re-center the gyro. In most gyros you can do this by rapidly switching between rate and HH three times while in hover. Joaquin

OK, guys, On another note, and especially to Brian out in FL. since he had one; I was flying my HK-500 yesterday and noticed the tail bouncing vertically. I think Brian used to call it Chucking. It didn't used to do that, or if it did I never noticed it. Does anyone have a clue where to start looking for a cause for this? I appreciate any heads-up before I start tearing things down and blindly looking for a solution. Thanks in advance, Joaquin

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part II
ORIGINAL: sgbfly
ORIGINAL: aircrash Hi Simon, Well, even if you fly like a maniac I can see no fast tail wag on the bird as with almost all ZYX birds I`ve seen. You must have got a little secret there, which must be a set-up job with lots of patience or lots of inventive job. Not very surprised of you. <img src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/biggrin.gif'' alt='''' /> Hmm, even if I was too hesitant to buy from HK I did the step and I am glad I did. If it was not the HK then I would not be able to build so many birds. The OrangeRx is one I like much and along with it I buy some more parts, various. Too bad the buddy code items are limited to 3 pieces per item/order. I bought some MG90s but could not add one more, even at the original price (3+1) but had to pay the full price for all of them. So even if I don`t like having ''just'' the needed and no spare I took 3 of them. I`ll keep an eye on those Turnigy branded. Spiros
Hi Spiros, Well, the secret is (dun dun duunnnnn)....        ......A genuine Align main shaft! OK, I'm joking - I could not resist! I've not observed the fast tail wag on my build although I did get the ''wet dog shakes'' on the cyclic until I invested in better servos. A few posts back you commented on the Leadershobby eBay vendors selling ''sold out'' goods as listed on the LH main site.  In my experience they don't have the goods and seem to wait for one to ask why the item has not shipped.  They then offer a refund or alternative product.  Not great business ethics! Simon <img src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/regular_smile.gif'' alt='''' />
Ive found the same to be true. I currently have a gyro and two planks, all ordered separately that have not arrived after a month or more. I send an email asking what the deal is and they say exactly as Simon said..... "Thank you for you email. Sorry for replying you late. Sorry for delaying your shipping since the items you order are out of stock now..." so on and so forth. No more purchases from them for this guy. Joaquin

Just a post script, Flying in tight quarters isn’t always a bad thing. I flew in tight spaces for quite awhile before I went out and did FFF. It teaches you fine motor control of the heli. In my opinion, that’s a good thing. It may not seem like it now, but it will pay off later. I think you may have joined us after my indoor period. Here’s one of many vids I did inside my shop. Keep in mind, this was before the HK was completed. I too was flying a Belt CP. Keep up the good work Spiros.
