RE: Types of Vinyl Graphics
Some of the printed graphics don't hold up well in sunlight. I have one on my trailer that faded within a year.

RE: Fuel proof spray paint a thing of the past?
ORIGINAL: chip_MG The Paint I use for fuel proofing is simple airplane dope. I order it from Sig. Poly is not fuel proof at all, neither is any kind of water base that I know of with the exception of the stuff that nelson hobbies sells, its the same as warbird colors products. It is a waterbase boat paint, works ok but does not stick well at all, but is fuel proof to at least 15% nitro. Dope is the easy thing IMO.. plus it lasts for years.
In my view, there's lots of mis-information, here. WBC is not fuel proof. Nelsons, is. This means the paints are not the same. My WBC painted Stuka, and Nelsons painted Spacewalker II, have had no adhesion problems. Both have been painted for years. Poor surface preparation will result in adhesion problems. It's not always the paint's fault.
ORIGINAL: FlyerInOKC Has anyone hear tried Super 'Phatic! by Deluxe Materials? Its a Yellow glue that applies similar to CA, I was thinking of trying some to see how it works. Horizon carries it so I can get thru my LHS.
I used it to join balsa sheets together when making wings skins. It does the job, but don't expect it to be a water based CA. It's thin, but it still takes a half hour to set up.

RE: synchronizing engines
A friend just designed and built an early Boeing airliner. This is not his first multi engined aircraft. He told me that it is more important to get the engines running reliably, than to have them syncronized. His view is that any differences in thrust can be dealt with by using rudder trim.

RE: Sig Spacewalker II 1/4 scale
Yes, we disagree. Most of my engines are gassers, buit I use 4 stroke glow, when feasable, in my scale models. The four strokes add a dimention of sound that a 2 stroke gasser can not duplicate.

I love my 1.60 twin/glow, in my 1/4 Spacewalker. It provides a sound that cannot be duplicated by a gasser.
ORIGINAL: flyinwalenda If it's an AceRC kit (sorry, I can't really tell) some flew them without struts while others added them for piece of mind and not turning it into a monoplane. If you don't want to put struts on then wires would be the next best thing......in my opinion. I've had good luck by pulling the tape just after the primer is dry to the touch, usually a half hour after spraying. Care is required, but little, if any, tape is left on my model.

Thanks for the compliment. For power on the 1/4 scale, I suggest anything that will turn a 16-18 inch prop. Mine is powered by a Magnum 1.60 twin, which is more than enough.

RE: Sig spacewalker 2
Yes, I surface mounted the servos. I built the model as a flyer. I saw no reason to use Sig's complicated method to mount and hide them. So you caught me. I guess that I made some modifications. LOL Now that I think about it, I lined the area of the fuselage, where the front and rear sections are joined, with 1/32" ply. This saved my model, once, during an unplanned landing. [8|] In my opinion, the Sig method is weak. The ply laminatiopn adds strength in this critical area. There may be more changes, but nothing critical. Outside of the fuselage joining, that is.

I have not tried it, but the sanding sealer is lacquer based, like hair spray and balsarite, I see no reasnn why it wouldn't act in a similar fashion. I suggest that you do up a test piece, and see what happens.

RE: HOw much paint do I need?
I like Warbird Colors, too. In my opinion, it's a better choice than house paint. By following the instructions, the paint will go on easily, and a realistic gloss will be obtained. A pint should be enough to paint your bird.
ORIGINAL: Mikepo I've used National for two Hostetler planes, L19 and PT19. The quality of wood is much better than I've had from other ''leading'' cut-kit suppliers. National Balsa kits contain a higher quality of wood than the other commonly used kit cutter.
