RE: Question about buying used
ORIGINAL: samguan Ok, there is something called the rating system on this forum if you decide to buy on RCU. Basically, if a seller has 50 ratings and it's at 100%, this means the seller has done 50 successful transactions. It's like the rating system on eBay. As for Craiglist or Kijiji, it's better to deal locally. If you really have to deal with people far away from you. Ask for cash on delivery, I think the Postal office has this feature. It means that you pay the postal guy when the item arrives at your door. I'm not too sure about paying using Paypal, but I think you can get your money back through Paypal if you did not receive the item.(Consult Paypal for more detail). There are some great deals on eBay too. As for eBay, you do not have to worry about not getting your item. Because PayPal will refund your $$ if you do not receive the item. But as the rule of thumb, always look at the seller's rating..
Thanks Samguan for explaining that, yeah I have been keeping an eye on eBay because I keep hearing that there are some good deals. I was not aware of the rating system on RCU though as you can see by the number of posts I have I am new to the forum. [:)] I will check the classified section of the forum again and pay attention to the sellers rating now.

Question about buying used
Hey everyone, I was just wondering about the protocal when buying used and it not being local? I notice alot of people are interested in buying and selling but I haven't been able to find any info on the sales procedure or follow ups on how the deal went etc. Is this way of doing business strictly an honor system? Am I expected to send a complete stranger 400-$500 and hope they mail me a truck? [:D] How does this work? I read Craigslist is a good place to find stuff then I see googles endless pages of horror stories of people getting ripped off. Anyway if some of you that have actualy done long distance deals can shed some light on this I would appreciate it (because I am in the market for a Savage XL 5.9 and my local community doesn't have much) I would like to buy used but I am obivously very leary not knowing how this is done. Thanks, Travis

RE: Savage Flux vs. XL
I think this thread was answered the first time someone posted "its personal preference". Trying to justify which is better by start up cost doesn't really make sense as your start up can essentialy be what you want it to be as we have seen by numerous posts with varying prices. With regards to directly comparing these 2 trucks as previously mentioned I dont think you can, they are completly different right down to the simple size and weight. I am not going to side either way I think they are both awesome trucks, we can all agree on that, but something you may want to consider before hand is what do you really want out of this purchase. I divide the RC community into 2 like this. Some people like to drive and some people like everything else about the hobby (i.e. sound/smell/cleaning/tuning/DRIVING! etc.) If your the type of person that wants to bash it and put it away, maybe electric if for you. If your a "hobbiest" and enjoy the maintenence aspect of RC then go nitro (Although I am guessing that by creating this post you are not one enjoys the maintenence aspect of RC or you would have known this already). Anyway as earlier stated its personal preference and I think thats been proven here.

Anyone own a Exceed-RC MAD BEAST?
So I came across this truck, I have never heard of these guys but as Im sure anyone that checks them out will realize they resemble a Savage. I was wondering does anyone here own one? I am considering buying a Savage X 4.6 or Savage XL if I can find a good deal. But After seeing this truck I am reconsidering, I know all the Savage fans out there will be quick to say this truck is junk but without having owned one of these your opinion is irrelevant. I am not denying Savage is a great truck as I stated I am shopping for one but I would like some feedback from any Exceed owners. Thanks http://www.nitrorcx.com/exrc1madbe28.html

RE: Official Traxxas Jato 3.3 Thread
Hey everyone, I haven't noticed much on the forums about the amount of noise Nitro RCs make. I have purchased a Jato this winter and look forward to the spring time, watching many vids on You Tube. I notice alot of people like myself live in the city and the suburbs no less. Do your neighbors not care about the noise the car makes? Also can anyone tell me if there is a noise supressor of some kind that maybe fits on the pipe of a nitro? Thanks

RE: Twin engine building (?)
ORIGINAL: REVO_RACER Depending on the kit used for the mod, it could simple or as some people found out it could be a long project. What kit were you thinking about using for this conversion.. More infomation ill be able to help you find more things out.
I haven't actualy picked out a kit yet, I am still in the learning phase and plan on making a decision as I get more info on what goes into building one. One of the first questions I have is, does it take specific types of twin engines or can a person use any model of nitro engine? (of course I understand they have to be the same engines)

RE: Twin engine building (?)
ORIGINAL: Nmbr1GMfan Not too much info on twins but it seems relatively easy. I was gonna build a new twin, but am now looking to just build a new big single. Check new era models for a twin kit.
Thanks I will check them out.

Twin engine building (?)
Hey everyone, I am new to the forum but thought this would be a good place to start looking for some twin engine build resource sites. Basicaly I am interesting in learning about building a twin engine MT and would like to get some general information about it before making a decision whether I want to go ahead with this project. i.e. do they require specific types of engines and so on. Any information or links to sites with info on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Travis
