RE: The greatest flight box
This is our flight box built from scratch, also the 4stroke fuel box since it was an added addition later on there was no room to incorporate it into the original box, so its seperate.

RE: Where to buy airplane kits?
Just called Midwest, They no longer produce any airplane kits. Thats what i was told by their customer service. However they did have some still in the warehouse. I just ordered 2 Stearman kits, so i suggest if someone wanted to order a kit from them, call and find out if they have any in stock first.

RE: Pull Pull servo placement
By behind the pivot point i would assume you mean AFT of the hinge line? Please clarify because i thought i read that Aft of the Hinge line is ok but forward of it would cause the tightening of the lines during deflection.

RE: Pull Pull servo placement
Well at the servo the attachment points are 1 1/2 " apart, so ive modified my Control horns and the clevis will attach the same 1 1/2" apart. Also my servo is centered in the fuse so if i align the horns onto the hingpoint center i should in theory have exact throw each direction. As long as i understand everything correctly

RE: Pull Pull servo placement
If i understand that link correctly, I can incorporate a SMALL amount of ackerman into my pull pull just to insure that the cables do not tighten while deflected, but are taunt at Neutral, Using that method for setup will not be an issue ??? Is that correct?

RE: Tank setup issue...What are my options??
Do you mean the actual canister Minnflyer? There isnt one, The original muffler that came with the Engine is no good to me it doesnt fit in my setup so i purchased this one. Will it not work?? What i did is tap a pressure fitting into the elbow you see.

RE: Tank setup issue...What are my options??
Yep, I just did that. Will the tank build sufficient pressure or should i say the same amount of pressure without an actual canister muffler? The flex muffler is just an elbow with a long flex tube. Will this create a horrible sound also? Im abit away from running it and i cant find my test bench to bolt it to Thanks

Tank setup issue...What are my options??
Setting up a Saito 91 and i had to purchase a longer Saito Flex muffler for it, however it does not come with a pressure nipple on the exhaust Do i have to tap one into it ?? The only place i would be able to install it would be on the elbow that attaches to the engine case. Are there any other options to not run a pressure line?? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Joe

RE: Can anybody recognize this model?
ORIGINAL: G17 Staggerwing In response to your question of WHAT IS THIS?? It is definitely an Orline Deweyville Special with a few personal touches added to it. I suppose its possible, but there are major differences between the two IF in fact it is, it has been pretty bashed into what you see none of the strut mounts match the deweyville deweyville has canopy not open cockpit the deweyville has a raised rear fuse behind cockpit, with stringers tapering down to tail. the rudder and fin are totally different, the dewey has a closed cowl Much more dihedrial in Deweyville wing. Like i said it could be... Just dont plan on building a Deweyville it wont look like that without your own customization

That was 1 of my thoughts, The chemical reaction does cause a good amount of heat and it is possible that it melted into my base through the wax. Basicly im chalking it up to the RA, whether it wasnt enough or incorrect type. Its been a learning experience and i still have my hardwood plug to start fresh. This time PVA

RE: Why did this happen???
Just seems very strange because i had no problems with the release from the wooden plug i made. Yet it adhered completly into the female mold. Ive started over now well see what happens with the new attempt. Can Parafin wax be used for a R.A ? i could chuck the mold back onto the lathe and just use a hard candlestick to put many coats on the mold.

Why did this happen???
Sooo im making my first scratch 8" radial Fiberglass Cowl for a Sopwith. I turned a wooden plug for it on the lathe, and put about 5 or 6 generous coats of Carnauba wax on it. Laid my cloth and built it up until i was happy with the thickness, mind you this is the female mold il be using to actually make the cowl itself. Came time to seperate the two, No problem drilled a small hole in the cutout area and blew 100psi into the plug and presto it seperated from the wooden plug and i had a great female mold now to make my part. Sealed the small hole i made , Now this time i put about 8 coats of Carnauba wax inside the mold. laid my glass inside for the cowl, and let it cure again overnight. When it came time to seperate , the damn new Fiberglass COMPLETLEY melted into the female mold. I let it cure for 24 hours so i know the original resin was not still tacky. AND i put almost 10 coats of wax on it. I cannot figure out for the life of me why this has happend. Btw im using Sig Polyester resin. Any ideas why? Did i do something wrong, i followed the exact steps as i did on the plug im very very confused.

Prop selection?
Going to be running a 91 Saito and the rec range for props goes up to 14x8 Its going to be on a Pup and a few people have told me i should go high dia low pitch My question is Can you exceed the rec. range by lowering the pitch. Would the 91 run say a 15 or even a 16 by lowering down to maybe a 5 or 6 pitch? Or would it be inefficient to run it in such a way. Thanks
