RE: cheap chinese batteries
I don't have anything to back up my claim that they are assembled here but I do in a way agree with what latufu is saying. There has been a few problems to say the least between MaxAmps and Jang but on one hand we have MaxAmps saying they have the best stuff, charging the highest prices and advertising their batteries to have the highest of C ratings without backing it up with hard evidence of how they came up with those numbers and on the other hand there is Jang who I am sure tested the batteries the best way he knew how and with the equipment available to him to do so but I just don't agree with testing batteries that claim to be so far above the rest in they way that he did. I think the verdict is still somewhat out and as mentioned earlier, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Until the absolute truth is exposed all we as consumers can do is chose to believe MaxAmps or not. At the end of the day buy the battery that you're happy buying and enjoy this wonderful hobby.
ORIGINAL: SyCo_VeNoM
ORIGINAL: Traxxas Fanboy I'm just going to agree to disagree on this one. For the record I'm not a troll, I just like Traxxas and I use MaxAmps batteries, judging from what I've seen on this site so far I can understand why someone who likes those two brands would be seen as a troll. The way I see it is if you don't like something

RE: My take on Traxxas
ORIGINAL: FahrtAutoRC
ORIGINAL: The_Shark the summit, cool rig, but GOD is it overpriced to hell to the max
AMEN!!! My buddy just picked one up last week, $600!?!?!?!?!?! For THAT??? Not to mention BOTH steering servos were junk out of the box, I mean really? The guys on disability and saved for what he thought was a badass MT and got some overpriced defective BRUSHED POS. He is mad but they won't refund so he can take my advice and just get a Savage
Why did he buy a Summit if he wanted a MT? The Summit is about the same size as a monster truck but it's more of a trail/crawler rig. People who buy and use a Summit for it's intended purpose love them, it has cult status amongst it's legion of fans.

RE: cheap chinese batteries
The naysayers seem to be lacking evidence here if you ask me, there are plenty of excuses though. I've seen your "interesting read" before robwiljas. If you read though it you'll find the battery was not new, in fact it was sold 2nd hand to the reviewer. How am I meant to take a review seriously if the product being reviewed is not absolutely positively brand spanking new, especially a battery. Also the test was done with a 30A bulb discharger, fine if you're testing NiMH or NiCd batteries but not for the latest in LiPo technology designed for todays brushless systems. Sorry if I'm coming across too harsh, just a friendly debate on my end. :)

Some of the extra money you spend on MaxAmps goes to assembly and manufacturing costs which are higher if you are doing it in America and the rest is for the grade A cells they use. I can understand not everyone has the money to spend on them but if you think the extra money spent doesn't get you an all round better battery you're wrong. As far as I am concerned any tests that I have heard of done on MaxAmps batteries in the public arena were not done on a brand new battery and weren't tested at high enough loads to properly test the C ratings so they can't be taken seriously.
ORIGINAL: cumminspower5.9 And thats too bad. Traxxas can't handle the competition so of course they want one of THEIR trucks to take the name. RE: anything coming out soon better than the HPI savage FLux
ORIGINAL: HalP! as title sais. is anything coming out soon that can compete with the savage flux hp, or better even? thanks,
The debate has raged on for many years about which is better between the Revo platform and the Savage but I would say it is at least worth checking out an E-Revo Brushless Edition before you make your purchase. They both have the same electronics so speed is comparable and while most people will tell you the Savage is the more durable of the two the Revo wins in the handling department. Most of all I hope you're happy with whatever you purchase, RC cars and trucks can be a lot of fun and a very addicting hobby. I'm sure if you enjoy it you will soon want a second vehicle.
