Hyper 7 tq vs ulta lx2 buggy
Im looking at getting into nitro. I have tuned a few 3.3s and i think i can handle it. Im looking at getting one of these two buggies. But my question is which? Im looking just to bash and maybe tool around on a track every so often. Im wanting the best engine and easiest to tune engine.. which should i go with? Both i can get parts for (i work at hobbytownusa).

couple of mini revo questions
Hey i just got myself a mini revo. Got it used. Has 2 2s lipos, 3 nimh packs and one 3s lipo. Already has rpm a arms all around and rpm bumpers. ANYWAY. Is it possible to run 2 2s in series? i know 2 6 cell nimh packs is 14.4v and two 2s lipos would be 14.8 so would it be ok or would the esc pop? Any one have any pics of proline 2.2 buggy dirthawgs III FRONT tires mounted on some 2.2 rims on the mini revo? What about the 2.2 buggy dirthawgs III REAR mounted on some 2.2 rims on the mini revo? I know the 1/16 titus beadlock/dirthaw combo those dirthawgs are about 1.4in wide and the 2.2 buggy fronts are about 1.25inches wide.

ive found out that the sidewinder esc doesnt seem to be up to par to run in this. meaning it cant really handle the weight of the truck along with it being 4wd.. So that kinda shot this truck out of the air.. now looking at the sc10 kits

RE: NOT IMPRESSED WITH MINI RIO
ORIGINAL: Basstronics Cycling the battery pack isnt that big of a chore. 3-4 runs/charges and it should be up to snuff. As far as the motor goes: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLYA6&P=ML $21 shipped. Changing to a wire drive was a huge and cheap upgrade as well. Under $1- you will need .047'' music wire. But if you are totally against doing any kind of work or labor to the RTR boat you are better off calling up Aquacraft and whining to them about it. ''Ya this is such bull shiz... I gotta cycle a battery 3-4 times before it holds full capacity!'' -CLICK- Stop being so dramatic. Cycle the battery pack. Put the battery all the way to the back as far as possible. Pull the drive line out, grease it up good. Check for binds. Be happy.
you crack me up. I cycled the battery 4 times, it never worked. I brought it to my hobbyshop, the guy said " the drivelines in a bind". I said no i adjusted it as much as i can. He refused to believe me, he "FIXED" it and told me to go back home and try it out. I did, it didnt work. So i brought it back, different guy was there. I said im returning this, it doesnt work. He goes the drivelines in a bind. Im like here we go again. So long story short, he "FIXED" it and went and ran it at a pond around the shop, it didnt work. Maybe aquacraft should put ARTR rio. All you need is to cycle the battery 4 times, change to wire drive and a new prop or a new motor. I still have my RIO EP, its awesome! The esc fried fast but oh well, it was slow anyway. It was RTR out of the box. If i was the one that owned the mini rio, i wouldnt have cared, i woulda bought a better motor and prop. Since it was my brother he cant afford that

Rio ep brushless question
So i have a rio ep. I have the vxl 3300kv car motor in it and the castle 1/10 sidewinder esc in it. I also have the king of shaves 3 blade prop.. It seems like it has only 3 speeds. Slow, medium, and fast. ( doesnt make any sense to you guys, but ill explain) slow- like when the boat isnt even on plain medium- the boat is on plain but it is just barely going fast enough to stay on plain fast- Anywhere from 3/4 throttle to full throttle- it is all one speed So my question is: I can have the throttle at 3/4 and say it goes 25mph. Illl pull the throttle all the way back, it still only goes 25mph..? Why does it not get any faster between 3/4 throttle and full throttle? I know the motor is spinning faster because i use it in my cars and it works fine? Is it because of the prop? I cant use the stock prop because the boat like tilts to the right from the torque.

RE: velineon heatsink
What car are you running? Whats your gearing? If your running a traxxas slash(2wd)/bandit/rustler/stampede those will not work very well. the black cap on the end of the motor limits heatsinks, even if you take it off there are still wires under it

Can't determine what from a forum discussion. Take it back and get a NEW one. You don't need a new prop, new battery or any of that. The stock boat should fly. yeh you need a different prop. I dont know what kind, but my rio ep did the same thing with a vxl/2s lipo.. also make sure the motor cant turn inside the mount.. if your mount just fits over the motor

look this is traxxasallfors older brother. dont yell at me for this.. / And really sucky mini rio? minis arent all sucky. 3/4 of our boat club races mini rios. My brother can drive the rio in our pond without having to ride his bike to the big pond where i drive my rio. YES im comparing my big rio to his mini rio, not performance wise. im comparing it to WORKING wise maybe he doesnt want to have to buy a prop and or a freaking motor to get the dam thing to work! Its pretty sad, its like you buy yourself a new 1:1 car and then they are like well, you need a new tranny for it because this one is shit.
ORIGINAL: Basstronics The boat took about 1-2 foot to get up on plane. I remember having to keep the battery as far back as possible. If its to far forward forget about it. The stock motor is weaksauce. I upgraded the motor to the VR3 or something like that... $15 motor. Made a hell of a difference without turning to brushless. [b] Some people will never be happy. For $100 what do you expect? A rocket ship? If you want a fast boat bring your allowance or enjoy what you have!!!
