RE: HK450
Here's mine, flies well...had an E-Flite B400 motor ,esc combo in it and the esc thermaled on me.... way up high (very hard landing, only a feathering shaft to replace tho)....put in the stock T-Rex motor esc and it's great...using a 401 and Ds3004G on tail...incredible piro rate and stopping power, using some cheap carbon main blades also...and of course good 'ole HXT900s' on cyclic...have at least a couple dozen flights on it...all in idle-up...seems to be doing well....just as well as my 450SA anyway... testing out some floats I made...well a dry test anyway.....really helps with orientation too...in this pic it has a HXT900 on the tail, wasn't doing the 401 justice... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3JdDu36894

nice videos....looks a tad cool there....gotta love these fighters. This is the first one I've made this way....I'm finishing 5 more now and they are turning out alittle nicer each time...I put the one in the video in at full throttle screwing around the other day, surprisingly enough it needed only some minor work and had it flying the just as good the next day....what's better than combat and still legal ..............[8D]

they're symmetrical blades(plastic, heavy) and it is heavy(tail mod, heavy duty skids)...but it was flying around good last time I flew it with the same set-up....is there an easy way to check those 4 in 1 units? I know NOW how you can keep feeding $$ to these helis....I will double check the gear mesh........it'll get a short burst of power from the start..(cooled down)...then wean right out... I'm sure the 3 cell li-po probably takes a toll on the 4 in 1.....................thanks for your reply.............[8D]

RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP
I've had a couple BCP's for a while...went through a few 4 in 1 units...went through motors (main and tail), have the dual tail motor mod and have been running 3s1p 800 in it when I was flying it last ...got the B- 400, T-Rex 450 and a couple SJM 500's so I haven't flew the BCP for a while...went to fly it the other day and not much power...put in another new brushed motor and the same results...even in idle up barely enough to get a foot off the ground...pitch checks out good..I was wondering if I smoked another 4 in 1 unit......or could I get the BL conversion and would the 4 in 1 be okay? I don't know much about these integrated units.....it's a fun little heli to fly....wouldn't mind doing the BL conversion....but hate to buy another 4 in 1 unit...beside it, the parts are sooooo cheap....any help would be appreciated ....this BCP has an Airwolf body and 9 LEDs...looks pretty cool....look better actually in the air though.............[8D]

RE: Ultrafly FW-190: Convert to Glow?
I'd have to say I agree with you...before I had the OS25FX on the PZ 190, I had a Turnigy TR42-40A with an APC 9x9E pulling around 500W or more...(but didn't want to risk the batteries in combat)...at just over 2lbs AUW, she was very quick...had to launch at half throttle.....I was using a 4s1p 2200mAh, so a couple of minutes of flight WOT...you could almost say too much power....E-Power is definitely alot easier and you can fly almost anywhere...but some of the nitro scale combat planes are as fast as it was....but it never sagged in tight corners...can't beat that instant power with the BL motors and li-pos

RE: 1/12 scale Mig-7
thanks....I did make this one at 44" WS...a few of us have been flying this airframe in combat for a few years from the same molds, not sure what kit was used for the plug...hard to find pics of it since like you said it was a prototype, so I painted it like a Mig-3.......I'm not sure if we still have 2610...maybe something like 30/40-48 or something.....

1/12 scale Mig-7
here's my maiden with the Mig-7 I made...bought the mold from a combat buddy (thanks Randy) and tried fiberglassing for the first time..CNC hot wired the wing...2lbs 6 ozs AUW dry...very quick build...she turns like that Parkzone 190 I converted...but much stronger airframe...these are gonna be fun..I figured about $20 all up cost per airframe is what I have into it.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC8nmiBJa8M http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/4...S425x425Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/4...S200x200Q85.jpg

SPAD SKIS
Now I know these aren't SPAD planes....but I've built many SPADS in the past...I started as a "SPAD'er" and am still at heart...some skis I built using the tried and true "TLAR" method, 4mm coro on the Ultimate and 2mm on the Cap 232's.. four motors for sure....this will probably be my only "quad" ever....besides $10 motors makes it plenty cheap...will probably split on two 30A ESCs...just using stuff laying around...paint is just spray can Krylon , doesn't seem to eat the EPP if you spray it lightly...lots of fun cheap...or is that cheap fun...I've already downloaded hundreds of scale 3-view plane drawings....this is really cool to do

RE: "Light Combat" 5oz Fighters
yeah that autocad is cool....just learned how to use it myself........did this B-17 (it'll have LG and be about 16ozs AUW) without taking one measurement or using my trusty yardstick at all (first time for that) at it fit together like a glove, the B-25 ( which flys great) and ME-109(my combat plane) are just "TLAR'ed".. they are just taken off 3-view scale drawings and scaled to 22" WS in an autocad program....we're heavy into the AMA 2610 scale and Open-B combat classes here....just thought this would be fun.....this is actually our gear from our "Micro Sumos" that we fly indoors....but these are alot faster flying than the Micro Sumo....same prop, motor, servos, esc and batt.......who says you have to grow up????

RE: "Light Combat" 5oz Fighters
AUW is 4-5 ozs....mine started at around 4ozs but so many mid-airs caused hot glue fixes...the basic airframe is around an ounce and a half, then a 2s 400-500 mAh, a 10g to 17g outrunner ( we've been using 1700-2100 kv, 7x4 prop),10g 12A esc,.(2) 4g servos(elev. rudd.) and a 5g ail servo add some weight gremlins and it should be under or at 4ozs or somewhere around....very simple profile build....6mm EPP I think....even simpler electronics set-up...I just could find one pic so far.. this is one of my combat buddies....he flys Mustangs... RE: SJM500
well finally got it fired up....works very well until just before mid-stick, it starts shaking pretty bad, balanced the blades and had a heli buddy help me set it up...but before mid-stick seems like it wants to fly apart...I'd really like to fly this heli...is there something we missed? There is a small nick on one of the blades....but it really wobbles the head and shakes the tail at just before the mid-stick,spools up nice to that point...I fly a couple 450 sized helis and kind of know what to look for, but not sure at all here...runnnig 3s1p 2200(x2) in series....it's the 500 pro V-1....any help would be cool, thanks
