RE: Problem problem problem
You may have a loop on the clunk line, inside the tank, and its against the front side. Also, some time ago a friend of mine had the same problem on a engine that he bought used. The engine had a screw inside the muffler, after the baffle. When the engine pointed up, the screw jump to the exit hole and shut the engine off.

RCWI the manual says place the engine hub centered on the cowl and then mark the firewall. Have you checked your stab incidence?

Daddy, you can glue a foam next to each cylinder side, so the airflow pass trought the engine cooling fins. 3DDean, let us know what you think about those props when you compare them.[;)]

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
I also baffled my engine a while ago. Is not mandatory, but it would help specially if you fly 3d in a hot weather. Beside is very easy to make a good baffle with the round cowl. 3DDean the 23a is a great 3d prop for the yak, thats what I have been used for a long time now. But haven´t tried the 22a to compare.

My 30% yak also has cero wing rock with no wind, but like Mixmaster says, inverted harrier are very dificult to do. A fellow club member has the 33% and its rock solid, but haven´t seen him doing inverted harriers. I must say that this is a great airframe to learn 3d, not just becouse flies greats, it also can take alot of abuse.

RE: MY CARB FLOODS >>>NEED HELP
try the os F plug. In my setup works great. The engine wasn´t dying, but it was rough at middle throttle, becouse being too rich. I didn´t want to use a pump or a regulator either, and the F plug did make a big difference. An after flying I just close the fuel valve and no more problems.[;)]

RE: MY CARB FLOODS >>>NEED HELP
A 4c glowplug will help if the engine is running rich on low and mid throttle, but will not cure the problem. To fix the problem you need a regulator, like Motorman said.

If you are going to be hard on the Reactor, better to glue it in place. Just to be sure nothing wrong happens.

RE: MY CARB FLOODS >>>NEED HELP
I had the same issue on one plane. Making a loop with the fuel line wont help. I installed a fuel valve between the tank and the carburtator, and I just close it after every flight. Before the valve y just pinched the fuel line with a kind of aligator that I have. I didn´t like to have the fuel line outside the cowl, so I installed the valve for a better look.

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
This plane is no longer produced, what a shame. SD models kaput, and I think the company now is RC Pilot. I think the CF landing gear is the same on both companies yaks. The stock tail wheel on the sd yak must be replaced for a good one. I don´t used a side muffler on mine, but I think it will fit fine inside the cowl. For what I remember, you need to reinforce where the canopy is atached to the fuse. And I had to replace the firewall aluminium angles. The spinner is heavy, and some people had problems with it. But the yak looks fine without it. I have beated this plane for almost 2 years and it always came back for more[>:] Very strong plane with wonderful flying characteristics.

RE: Venus II
2500 flights!!! thats a lot of flying time on a engine. You are 100% right, this is by far the most reliable 2 stroke engine that I have used, not a single death stick or any other bad habit. The thing is that I had a bearing failure with a 50sx and it cost me the engine, and I really don´t want to risk this engine. Beside a good set of bearings aren´t expensive. Probably change them is not needed, but I just don´t want to be worried. Thanks for the info.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

RE: Venus II
How are the bearings on your ax doing? My ax bearings are making some noise, and I can feel a little roughness. Common issue on the ax for what I can read here on RCU. I will change them to prevent a broken cage. Anyway the engine screams with the pipe setup.

Great pic. The venus sure is a great flying plane. I had mine with a ys110 and now with a 120ax and I really like how it handles on rolling maneuvers.

Thanks for the reply. I am using a jr radio, with a Spectrum 9100 rx. Your words about the digital servo on the throttle make sense to me, but does not happen the same problem with a normal servo? Problably is a better idea use a normal size metal geared servo. Any thought?

hs-5245mg went bad
Hello. I have a 5245mg servo, on the throttle of a gas engine, that went bad today. It didn´t respond to the radio, and when I cheked out I could move it with my hand like 50% of the normal range without geting a response, more than that and the servo fighted back, as normal. The train gear is in great condition and the servo has a litte more than a year of use, only as a throttle. Fortunately the plane wasn´t in a risky maneuver when the servo died, but it was impossible to land in the field, and there was same damage to the airframe due to the bad conditions in the area that I was forced to land. My question: is there a known problem with this servo when powered by unregulated 2cell A123 pack? or it was just a bad servo? I have another one that I can use, but of course I don´t want to risk the plane. Also, can the 5955 servos be powered with the A123 pack? Thanks, Alejandro.

RE: NEW SYSSA 30CC GASSER MADE IN THE USA
What a nice engine you got there Todd. I think that a great design, quality and customer service worth the extra money. For the numbers this engine would be a good sustitute for a ys140, a little heavier, but much less fuel costs. I am about to build a giant profile, and this engine seems great for it [:D]. When is the release date?

RE: 120NX
Well, the ax has been one of the best 2 stroke glow engines that I know, but maybe this nx is great too. I plan to use the engine on a cheap pattern plane, that I don´t plan to fly a lot, only when I have a problems with my Venus-120ax. So is not a bad idea to try this engine, if it runs ok. What considerations do these engines needs?

120NX
Is someone running this engine? I am about to buy a second 120ax, but this seems to be a good engine too, and cheaper. The rpm range is very similar to the 120ax, and maybe it will be very close in performance (thinking on a apc 14x10 or 15x8) How good are these Evolution engines? Never owned or seen one. Any comment will be appreciated Thanks

RE: Venus II
Hi everyone. Finally I went with the 120ax and carbon pipe combo on my fixed venus. After 1 1/2 gals of 10% fuel, I am getting 9.400rpms hot, backed for flight, on a apc 15x11. I have to tune the pipe yet. The power is really great, uplines are fast, and i can maintain speed going up, down or just straight. About the right thrust, I also needed a little more so I made the throttle -> rudder mix with great succes. My aproach is to add right thrust just if a lot of correction is needed, and fine tune with the mix. By the way, the link that Mprediger posted is for a throttle curve, so you can have a more linear throttle response. Good trick, but doesn´t help with the thrust issue.
