RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
I have just received my new HPI Vapor pro ESC. It took 2 months to get it. The original lasted 5 minutes. This one lasted 15-20 minutes on 2s only! I had to pay 13$ to ship it to them from Canada. Getting angry now. If i did not buy MMP i would have no truck to play with since i got the damn thing. By the way, the original fan on MMP is crap, i have replaced with Novak 25x25x7 fan and that made 90f difference !! (lower) . It used to hit 180f now it tops out at 90f :) with 3s!

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
It is your motor pinion coming off or your stock ESC is dying or something with the diffs.
ORIGINAL: Rustproofcorn
ORIGINAL: reut1 been having some issues with the tranny last two runs. lots of crunching and clicking when I try to take off with it. and just now sometimes I will hit the gas and nothing will happen. i have to go throttle on and off a few times before it'll start to really move. gonna pull out the motor and all tomorrow and see whats what
Will you please keep updating on this please. RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Rustprofcorn, i highly sugest you get a Mamba Max Pro and enjoy. I use it in the snow here in Canada every day and i did not wateproof it. I just put the ESC in a ziplog bag (ziptied) and lowered all the setting to lowest power till spring (or it will overheat in the bag). Much better ESC and it just works. The motor seems ok so far but you could try castle 3800 or Tekin 4000 kv 4 pole if you wanted the best. Replace screws as you go , they strip easy.. The stock reciever will work just fine with any ESC. Tekin also makes a very nice ESC, better then the Castle stuff. I also driled holes in the body for better ESC cooling. My steering servo is Hitec 645 - works great . Also motor pinion treadlock is a must. I also greased the metal gears , that seemed to make the truck a lot less noisy. Spray WD40 on it after snow and rain runs or the screws and bearings might rust. I also cut the antena tube all the way down so just a bit of antena wire pokes out of it and tape that to the antene tube. The rear knuckles break easy on jumps . Drill them so you can place a zip tie arround it and it will hold trough mild bashing till aluminum parts come in the mail :) Hard case 6000mh 2s lipos fit great and have enough amps for the hungry motor. Hope this helps . Vanya

tighten and use threadlock on the pinion gear. Replace esc with mamba max pro or something nice like that . Replace screws as you go , one by one . The rest of it is good . (to me so far anyways) and yes, have HPI's warranty number ready. Plug and pray if you use stock ESC.

I know that i might be whining too much. It is true that you get what you pay for and $300 is not that much. It just makes me a little angry that 5 months into production , people are still having problems with it (ESC).I will seize my bitching now :) I am in Ottawa.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
I did not take them to court and i will not. BUT, the product is deffective in many ways . Good customer service or not , you can not keep selling crap if you know it is crap and they know after almost 5 months. ESC is shit, the screws are shit , the servo is shit , the tires are shitty. I would not take them to court for only ESC . Never mind that. I was just trying to get people to email RPM so they make us parts for the savage XS.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Hey guys! I am new to this forum. Reading it has helped me a lot and saved me a lot of time , so thank you all :) My ESC fried in 5 minutes on 2s lipo. My wife sugested we take the HPI to small claims court for selling a product that is defective in many ways. I chose not to (maybe i should of) I got Mamba max Pro and new servo (Servo died the second day after mamba install) . All seems to be good now besides screws striping like they are made of chese (7 so far , i replace them with Trex600 screws) i wrote a email to RPM asking them to make stuff for savage XS . RPM makes great stuff. Here is their response. Dear Vanya, Unfortunately there aren't any plans for parts for the HPI Savage Flux XS at the moment, but that can change at any time. Up until just a few weeks ago, we only had one or two requests for parts for that mini monster. Please continue to be patient with us and with a little luck, hopefully we'll have something available for you in the not too distant future. Take care and thank you for your interest and support of RPM products. If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to send us another e-mail. I think we all need to write to them so they make us parts :) Thanx guys! Vanya
