RE: RC & Photography
niiiiice. thats one camera that i would trade my canon gear for. those 70-200 2.8 lenses are nice, but i find the range of a crop body with a 55-250 unbeatable when shooting RC [:D]

RE: Off-road stadium truck > convert to on-road
ORIGINAL: rc18junky it can be done here is a pic of a members slash being sold in the adds it has a protoform body intended to be used on a 1/8 gtp2 or dm1. the slash worked good but it would be better to use a blitz or sc10 because they has a lower chassis he could had found a way to do the front body post a little better but it worked . i going to do it with a sc10 and get the 17mm wheel adapters so i can put gtp rims and tiers in it, the wheel base of the short course trucks and the gtp and dm1 are the same so all there bodies will work slash from the adds my 1/8 gtp with same body
diggin this!
ORIGINAL: ryana89 Vic Nyce, how did you make picture 24? Was it down by taking 2 pictures, one without the car and one with the car then overlapping both pictures?
ahhhh. for this picture, the exposure was 4 seconds, i throttled the car out of the frame after 2 seconds or so. the method you mentioned would have worked too, but i used that technique in a photo below. number 13. 24

RE: 977 problems/questions
i dont even bother with setting the mah rating. just the number of cells, and the charge rate. if i were you, i would check each cell for voltage. you might have one or more bad cells which is confusing the peak detect circuit. in my case, i was able to remove a bumb cell from my 2 of 6 cell pack and make a couple of 5 cell packs. one of the cells in each pack had internal problems and was compromising the packs as a whole.

RE: How to balance lipos on a 977
here's what i did. make a plug that will fit the balance tap then charge the pack one cell at a time. might not be the ideal way, but it works for sure.

RE: MRC SuperBrain 977 and A123?
snip I have two pieces of advise:  first do not buy anything made by MRC.  Their product is crap.  Second, do not purchase product from TOWER HOBBIES or any other online retailer that does not directly back up the product they sell by immediately replacing defective product they sell.
snip. i have to disagree here. i've been using my 977 since 2006. besides a loud cooling fan, the charger works great. you might have got a lemon.

depends what your definition of fast is. the impreza has a novak 5800 and its fast. and the skyline has a novak 4300 and is no slouch either. the impreza smokes the skyline easy though. that 5800 motor is a beast.

RE: Thoughts on chargers
i have the SB977 and its great. the LiPo charge mode will only go up to 2.5A at 2S and 3A at 3S. but since most of my packs are NiMh, it doesnt bother me. it can also charge two batts of same or different chemistries simultaneously. lastly, it comes with a 10A power supply. you wont be disappointed.

stampede wheel/tire options
i'd like to upgrade the wheels/tires on my stampede. w/o switching different size hex drives, what are my choices? pro line 30 series? the various traxxas 2.8s? jato wheels? i've read the nitro stampede uses 14mm hex hubs. is that true? are traxxas 2.8 wheels/tires interchangable with pro line 30 series wheels/ Thnaks!!!

RE: mrc 977 lipo charging
ORIGINAL: jordan d hello all i have a mrc 977 can i charge 2 lipos at the same time with this charger it has 2 outputs

ORIGINAL: guver Yes, set cell count with battery hooked and the display must read "lipo" (push start from the cell number screen)
thats wrong. only the "B" output will charge LiPos and nickels. "A" is for nickel batteries only. the lame part of LiPo charging is the low 2.5A rate for 2S packs. as mentioned, it will charge 3S packs at 3A. strange indeed. i charge my 2S packs with no problems. to balance, i charge each cell individually as a 1S battery every 4-6 cycles. a peaked Lipo cell is 4.2V. my 977 usually stops when the cell voltage is 4.15V to 4.18V. so its not FULLY charged but better safe than sorry.

RE: 200mm or 190mm body
ORIGINAL: TIGER76 Yeh most 1/10 tourers use 190 or 200mm bodies not too sure about the xray tbh sorry but yeh u can use wheel spacers or offset wheels will work too [;)]
depending on the body, i say high offset wheels for the win. wheel spacers are 1mm thick at best and still wont fill in the deep wheel wells of a 200mm lid on a 190mm car. 200mm lid 190mm car. rear wheels 10mm offset. front wheels 6mm offset 200mm lid 190mm car. rear wheels 10mm offset. front wheels 7mm offset 200mm lid 190mm car. rear wheels 9mm offset. front wheels 6mm offset
