RE: Large Turbine Powered Sailplane Project !!!!
The ASK 21 of Airworld in germany is a popular chassis for this conversion. I was watching one yestreday and it was totally amazing. See also this German video site for a look at a conversion of a DG300 with an uo and go installation [link]http://66.249.91.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.rcmovie.net/view_video.php%3Fviewkey%3D4a40b78132f1e71a9e6f[/link]

Check out this link. There are a coupleof Motor Gliders there, but you need to build from plan. If you are interested I can give the details. [link=http://www.scalesoaring.co.uk//Gallery/mw-June-2006/index.htm]Go Here[/link]

RE: Slope Soaring sites Wiltshire UK
English Nature have absolutely NO authority to make the restrictions and the signs can be ignored as there is no legislation in force. Following one incident when an irate Warden called in the police to remove a a glider flyer he himself was arrested for threatening behaviour as he did not know at first that the guy flying the glider was - A Judge!! Anyway, the BMFA have all the facts and after promising to resolve the matter are looking round for a spare set of dentures so they can show their teeth.

RE: Details of a Flamingo needed
That is a most interesting reply. The reason I wanted a few details was to complete a write up of my documentation for a German Sailplane also towed by the Flamingo. I have built - almost - a 1:3 scale Fafnir which was also towed by the Flamingo. Sounds like we will have to get together some time! I have provided my 5.5 meter Fafnir plan for free at this address http://www.cwgsy.net/private/jennic/ What is your friends name?

Details of a Flamingo needed
Hi, sorry to intrude on your forum as I am a scale glider guy. Anyway, as part of a scale project I need to find information on a German biplane at around 1930 called the Flamingo. Can anyone help

RE: PICOLARIO Telemetry System
I bought one recently mainly to monitor the battery voltages as I had just lost an expensive scale glider due to a faulty charger. I figure the Picolario could save me in future. I fly mainly on the slope and the height information and vario isn't that necessary but interesting. However when I go to aerotow it will come into its own. Most serious thermal fliers use them to find lift. OK - they are expensive and I thought for a long time whether I should buy one, but now I am convinced

RE: Jet 3D Cad Files
I recently posted about using Illustrartor for drawing. Here are the results of my first attempt. You will find the clarity a little down as the original drawings are all 3 meters in length. The drawing is of a 1932 Fafnir glider.[image][/image][image][/image][image][/image]

RE: Alternatives to Acad
SST I know what you mean as in my earler years I used to be a Draughtsman, however when I found that the 3 view side elevation height of the plane I was designing was too short, all I had to do on the computer was stretch it and all the formers followed suit. I also started off at 1/4 scale but then changed my mind to 1/3.5 - again a stretch Now that beats pencil and paper!!

Alternatives to Acad
I read many threads on the use of ACAD and TurboCAD to draw plans for your next model and having aquired a copy of ACAD I was daunted by yet another learning curve. So I fired up my Adobe Illustartor, which I use to make all my graphics for vynyl cutting, and have drawn up plans for a 5.5M scale glider requiring 3 sheets of plans 3 meters long. It seems to work fine, easy to use, is a fraction of the cost of other CAD programs and copes with DXF and DWG for output to cutters So, what am I missing??

You Polish people are really into scale, unfortunately I cannot make any sense of your language. The picture showing the side view drawing seems to show the difference between an aquired 3 view and reality, which is which - or am I wrong
