RE: F3A World Cup 2011 - Great Britain
OK great thanks for the advice. I checked GBRCAA and they say that planes cannot be bigger than a 50size aircraft. So do you think the extreme flight Vanquish MK2 would be any good. It has a 48" wing span and to me that seems about right?

RE: Byron B-17
for anyone intrested the B-29s engines were four Quadra 100cc each turning a 4 bladed 38" hand carved prop. the B-29 had pitch, roll, yaw, and power, it also had remote starters, chokes, retractable gear, brakes, flaps, bomb bay doors (both front and back) and tail skid. All of the Byron aircraft were at 1/5th scale making the B-17 have around a 249" wingspan and the B-29 have a 354" wingspan. As well as many WW2 warbirds in the Byron Originals Expo, there were many jets but as mini gas turbines were not around then they were all IC DF powered! There is some great footage on youtube, here are some good ones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX0TDW6Vry8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xNmLJju6nc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBz8_5hvxWM&feature=related

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan
The Parkzone Trojan is amazing! It flys really well and i thought quite fast for a foam warbird. On a new pack fully charged she is quite spritly and everything seems to be absolutly wonderful on this plane! I cannot sugest any improvments (maybe retracts)

RE: Anyone ever heard of such a thing??
If you are looking for sound then try the thomas benedini sound systems. John Ranson, who is well know for the excellent scale models he creates, uses this sound system: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMh5CXyb9_I On the Thomas Benedini website there are many articles about sound for your aircraft. many written by john ranson. There is a turbine sound i believe: http://www.benedini.de/Home_D/Download/Sound_August_2006.pdf Hope this helps, Will

RE: Habu crashed, looking for cause?
when you plug in the battery, is the Rx on. (my futabas have a light to indicate if they are on or not) If its not on then it could well be the BEC on the ESC that has gone. If the Rx is on then it might not be the ESC (but i doubt it is the Rx)

RE: Brian Taylor Bt-13
I would look at turnigy! they have many motors but for a 10-11 lb model i would look at the turnigy 50-65 series. These will pull your plane about quite well. They are excellent value for money and i hear many good things about them. I currently have one in my Nijhuis Spitifre http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4914&Product_Name=TURNIGY_50-65A_400kv_Outrunner_(Eq:_4030_AXi) here is the 50-65. I would have a look at all the turnigy motors on the website. there is bound to be one right for yours

RE: Want to build an A-10 Warthog.
I am sorry, i dont know of large plans for an A-10. I wouldn't build it round a specific power system but i would keep making sure all the way through your build that it will fit a certain sized fan? that way you cant go wrong.

RE: Falcon/Bobcat 25 motor?
remeber there is no such thing as an overpowered model. I hear these things are better the more power they have.

I think it is good that Parkzone are going down the EDF route but I hope they develop some more like a A-4 and an A-10 or MiG 15.

RE: EDF reversing for air brakes
you could use an RC cars ESC as that has reverse built in. I think you should go for 8 fans. I know some people say otherwize but whats a B-52 with out 8 engines?

Nothing will beat the Phase 3 F-16. It was my first EDF and is one of the best. I just thought you might like to consider that becasue if yoy do get one you wont be sorry!!

RE: Off the wall EDF idea
you would just end up loosing thrust. If you used one and made the air exit smaller the exit speed would be faster and therefore the model would be faster.

RE: SHOW OFF YOUR PLANE's PICTUREs/VIDEOS
Dont laugh, I know its not quite as streamline as all or your jets but here is my EDF Fox (well it counts) Power is from a 40mm GWS fan and a 3S 450mAh LiPo. It can just about keep up with a Phase 3 F-16 on 75% throttle I have also a V-1 doodle bug, It is designed around john ransons plans from traplet and has only flow 300m so far I have also thrown in a picture of my Phase 3 F-16

RE: Wiring
If you are using futaba then check that #3 channel is reversed or when you connect the wires the throttle will start if you have the stick all the way back. I am guessing that the red wire goes to read so does the black and the blue goes to the yellow. if it spins in reverse then swap the red to the black.

RE: Art-tech F-18 hand launch?
Lander make some retracts that are pretty small, they might work for this aircraft but if not there are some smaller retracts about. I say go for the retracts, it will look so much better!

has anyone tied thrust vectoring on this plane. it looks fun and im sure that ducting at the end would be good enough. I could try it on my old one which is in many peices

it may also be that you switched off your TX before your RX, I hear cheap TXs and RXs can almost die (or settings lost) from this

RE: Questions about electric setup on Hangar 9 Spitfire 60
the reason there will not be any advice in the manual is becasue its made of an IC engine. AXI motors make radial motor mounts here: http://www.modelmotors.cz/index.php?page=103 they're intended for axi motors so I dont know whether an e flite motor will work with these.
