Spectrum DX3C and Aquacraft Revolt Question
Hi All, I am buying an Aquacraft Revolt boat, and wondered if my Spectrum DX3C radio and reciever would work in it? I test drove a buddies Revolt earlier tonight, and fell in love with it! I bought a Storm Engine PX-16, just to see if I would like boating, and I'm hooked! I didn't expect much from her maiden voyage tonight, but was impressed with how the PX 16 looks, and ran. It's not a bad boat, and it only cost me $37, so I'm not complaining. It goes the speed of smell, but will make a nice rescuse boat.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
Yes, I will be using lipos. I will also be using either a Hobbywing Smart Sense ESC, or my Castle Sidewinder SV2.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
Is there a way to change the wheelbase if it isn't right? Also, what would be a good brushless system to use on it? I'm not looking for the kind of speed I have with my HPI Sprint 2 Drift. That has a Castle 7700kv motor in it, and that would be too much power for what I am looking for. I'm looking for a reliable, kind of snappy, motor for it. I'll be using a Hobywing Smart Sense ESC in it, and don't care if the motor is senored or sensorless. Thanks for all your help. This forum rocks!

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
Not sure what to scale is, but I would like the wheels to be tucked under the body. I'm using my 1/10 Monster Energy Subaru body on it. I also have a 1/10 Kyosho buggy,. Both are 2wd, but it's just a fun vehicle for camp.

What would it take to convert a Losi XXXT to a rally? I just happened to score one, and have a killer Monster Energy Subaru body.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
I'm selling the Blitz as a roller for $75 without servo, $100 with. I could put an HPI brushed system in it and get more for it, but not many people want brushed stuff these days. It has a new gear diff, and come with 10 tires and wheels, including the four that are on it. They are Hole Shots, Goosebumps, and Double Dees. It is a full out race truck. It has a body, but the body is pretty beat up. Like I said; If I could find a Subie body to fit the Blitz, I'd keep it.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
WOW, thanks for that list!! I have an HPI Sprint 2 Drift, an Ofna JL10e drift, an HPI Blitz, a Redcat Nitro Lightning, and an RC10L. Both drift cars are belt drive, and not good candidates for an offroad vehicle. I considered the Lighting, but can't run a nitro car at camp. If I could find a GT1 body, I'd do the Blitz because it is a rugged chassis, and was designed for the terrain I want to run on. What about a Tamiya DF02? They are pretty reasonably priced, and plentiful.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
Yeah, I've come to the said realization that the Blitz is going to be put up on Ebay because the only body that would fit, is no longer available, and no one that owns one wants to get rid of it. Can you folks recommend a good 1/10 chassis to use for a rally conversion? I looked at the DF03ra, but there isn't enough ground clearance for the terrain I plan to run on. I've looked at DF02 buggy chassis, and a couple other buggy chassis, but not sure which chassis would work. Thanks

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
What would you recommend? I'm building something to use at my camp. It's rough terrain, so ground clearance is important, which is why I thought the Blitz would make a good vehicle. I can't run nitro at camp so whatever I build has to be electric.

I actually looked at the DRX just a few minutes ago. I looked at the Body dimensions, and think I can make it work on my Blitz.

RE: Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
With the name like WRXGuy, you wouldn't expect me to be looking for a Ford Focus, would ya? LOL An 8th scale body will fit on a 1/10 HPI Blit Short Course truck. We run 1/8 late model bodies on them all the time.

Looking for 1/8 Subaru Body.
Hi All, I am converting my HPI Blitz to a rally car, and am looking for the 1/8 Kyosho Subaru body. I have looked on Ebay, and have asked on a couple of other forums, but no one answered. I have had good luck in the past when I asked questions on this forum, so I decided to ask here. If the Subaru body is a bust, does anyone know if the WR8 body by HPI is available? Thanks for your help.

RE: Oynx 245
Not sure because I don't have any Lipos to test that theory. I only had 2....a CRC 5000 mAh, it swelled, and the Gens Ace 4000, it will only trickle charge. I ordered a SMC Extreme 6000 mAh 60c hard shell lipo. When it come in, I will put it on the charger, and see what happens. If it does the same thing as it does with the Gens Ace, it's the charger on the lipo setting, and I will have to contact Duratrax because the charger is only 5 months old. :)

RE: Oynx 245
I just went down in the basement and put one of my NiMh batts on charge, and it is charging fine. Amps are right, voltage is right, so it was the battery. :)

RE: Oynx 245
Thanks. I am getting a new battery, and trying that. I got the Gens Ace on Ebay, and could have been sold a bum battery. If a new battery only charges at 1 amp, then it's an issue with the charger, and will contacting Duratrax, because the charger isn't even a year old, and hasn't been over used. I always plug it into a surge protector, I own electronic drums and am well versed in shotty power sources, so I know it isn't an issue with that. I am just puzzled because I charge my NiMh batteries Thursday evening before out bash night, and they charged just fine. That is why I think it is an issue with the batteries.

RE: Oynx 245
Thanks guver. As for settings, the 245 only lets you set amps. 5 amps is for 3500-7500 mAh. The voltage was 8.27. The swelling was in both packs. That battery is in the hands of Frank Calandra of CRC. He's going to try to cycle it. As for the charger, the instructions tell you how to set amperage, but say nothing about setting anything else. I tried the programming procedure for mAh. I scroll to mAh, hold the setting button for 3 seconds, and it automatically goes to amps. I am taking that as the only thing you can set is amperage. Setting amperage is the only thing in the instructions as well.

Oynx 245
Thursday night I was charging my CRC 5000 mah 2s Lipo on my Oynx 245 charger. I heard the tone go off that indicated that the charge was complete, so I went down in the basement to take it off the charger. When I approached the charger, I notice the pack had swelled, and the case was separated at the seam. I had a brand new Gens Ace, so I put that on the charger. I noticed that it was only charging at 1 amp. I set the charge rate to 5 amps, per the instructions, but it was only charging at 1 amp. My question is, is it possible that there is a problem with the charger? Or is it battey issues? I am perplexed becaue I was charging batteries at the track last seaon, with no issues. Oh and before anyone askes, yes, I made sure it was on Lipo before charging. :)

Gearing Help
Hi folks, What a good gearing starting point for a touring car with a Castle 7700kv motor? Mostly looking for gearing suggestions for bashing. I have a good setup for drag racing. Should I use the same ratio for bashing, or will that fry my motor? Thanks

RE: Touring Car Questions
If I may, what is the most difficult thing with putting the TT 01e kit together? I've always bought ready to run vehicles, so building a kit is new to me. I want to build a kit because it will give me a better understanding of how the car operates, just wondering what part of the assembly will make me go...DOH!. LOL

RE: Touring Car Questions
Thanks for all the replies! I am not a first time RC'er, my bad for not stating that upfront. I have a Losi monster truck, an RC10L, converted into a drag car, and a nitro touring car. I have a Spektrum radio that can store 20 cars, and batteries out the waazoo. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive touring car so my wife doesn't kill me for spending too much on the hobby. LOL A kit would be best for me. I have a few motors and three ESC's, both brushed and brushless, that would work in anything I get. I enjoy putting these things together, so a kit doesn't scare me. A good, upgradeable, inexpensive kit would work best. By upgradeable I mean, upgrade to oil filled shocks eventually, as well as make it so caster and camber are adjustable. The TT 01e comes with non adjustable caster and camber but if it could be upgraded to be able to do it, it will be the kit for me. If not, I'll bite the bullet and buy a TC4.

Touring Car Questions
Hi All, I am in the market for a touring car. I am looking for a good, relatively inexpensive, reliable touring car. I've watched videos compairing shaft drive vs belt, and would like to go with a shaft drive car. I plan to have fun with some of my buddies in a parking lot. If possible, I'd like one that is upgradable. I like the HPI E10, and but caster and camber aren't adjustable. I looked at the Associated TC4, but it's a little more than I would lke to spend. The E10 is in my price range, but I don't know much about that car. Is it reliable? Is it upgradeable? By that I mean, can I eventually make the caster and camber adjustable? Can I add better shocks? Please forgive me if these question has been asked before. Thanks for your help
