RE: Why....just why?
It amazes me how so many people want to offer advise on something they know nothing about, they are self proclaimed experts on everything and know very little about anything, that is why I only ask help from those I know have the experience in the area and that I can trust. you ask for help on here and you will get a lot of advise that is just plain wrong and those that are experience in the area knows it but the ones just starting out don't and can be mislead in doing something stupid. sometimes I just laugh at the advice these so called experts give knowing its wrong and they clearly don't know what they are talking about. But than sometimes you have to realize there more than one way of doing things and its a matter of preference of how you do it.

RE: Things that make you say WTH?
when I see a advertisement for free shipping on all orders and when I go to the checkout they charge 30.00 for oversize box fee on a box that would probably cost that to ship! Do they think we are that dumb that we don't know what they are doing.

RE: DLE 55 Crank Broke in Flight
only an idiot would stand in front of an engine running more than idle speed and I don't like to even than, I get behind the engine as soon as can when its starts. I have seen too many thrown props caused by different situations, yet I see guys standing there revving their engine up standing in front of it without thinking what could happen if that prop fly's off.

RE: Shipping through Greyhound
I had a large box shipped from Washington state to Ohio and it took 5 days to get here, They are the cheapest to ship but good luck if something goes wrong and the box gets lost. Lets say they are the best at cooperating in locating the lost item.

RE: Why buy a kit just to have it?
Kit collecting just happens, I have been in this since 1978 and when I see something I like I buy it with the intention on building someday, If I wait to buy it when I ready to build it it might not be there because of being discontinued than the only option is to pay 2-3 times what it is worth off of some guy on e-bay. Its happen to me, putting off buying a kit and wake up one day and find it has been discontinued. When you do this over years the kits do pile up a little at a time. Than there is that human trait on hoarding, storing for future use like chipmunks. If you don't know what collecting is all about you will never understand, I had a friend who collected guns and had over 300 at this time, he never fired them or used them, he would just get them out from time to time and fondle them and oil them and put them back, one day I went hunting with him and he showed up with an old beat up gun that looked like it had seen its better day, I asked him why he did not put that old thing back and get one of his new guns out to use and he looked at me like I was crazy and had lost my mind. He said there was no way he was going take one of his babies out in this weather and maybe scruff it up or scratch it. I just shook my head and laughed.

RE: How to handle the guys with flawed plans?
This reminds me of a Full scale pilot that showed up at our field an number of years ago with a plane, when asked if he could fly, he replied of course, I can fly full scale. He was told flying RC is not like full scale and He should get some training before attempting to fly by himself, He ignored our advice and went ahead and took off barely avoiding crashing on take off, after flying out of control for a few minutes he attempted to land after the 3 failed attempts I aproached him and asked him if he wanted me to help him get the plane on the ground safely in which he told me to mind my own business, so I went back and sat down to watch, 3 minutes later he totaled the plane right in the middle of the runway. He picked up the pieces cussing under his breath and left and never saw him again. All this could have been avoided if he would have accepted help but he was to proud since he was a full scale pilot and he was not about to ask for help to fly these toy airplanes.

RE: Best 30 to 35 cc
The only thing that keeps from buying OS gas engines is their cost of replacement parts, extremely high compared to others.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
all because some have had to rebuild their engines around 3 year mark don't mean all do, there are a lot of DLE engines out there so there are going to be some with problems. I for one have flying a DLE 30 going on 4 years with out any problems what so ever. you also have factor in how they are run, how much oil, and other factors that could shorten a engines life. I have had zenoahs, brisons, fox and a poulan and this DLE 30 runs as good if not better than they all did. easy to start, light weight with great power and never had a flame out except me ruining it out of gas.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
The problem with some is they are only looking at the picture from their point of view only, those that have money to spend go ahead and buy those high priced american made products, but just remember not every one is so blessed to have your kind of money to spend. I am retired and live on fixed income that just barely pays the bills every month, most of what I have in this hobby I bought when I was working and now that I am retired I have watch what I spend and if that means buying china made products in order enjoy this hobby so be it, I do what I have to do.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
talk about being hypocritical, you condemn buying chinsese engines because jobs going over seas and than you put that so called US engine in a china made airframe. If you refuse to buy anything not made in US than how do justify buying that airframe thats not made in the US? by the way like it is said before DA are only assembled in the US most if not all the parts come from outside the US.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
I think what the DA fan boys are so upset over is that the DLE is dominating the 50cc engine sales and the mighty DA is losing ground, why else would they attack the DLE every opportunity they have. The top dog always comes under attack.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
Whats the question here, the best engine available from china today, so what all this other off topic stuff doing here? This is not a thread about which engine is best or whatever, it is about which engine coming from china is best, that is without question the DLE as of today, this not opinion but is based of sales, it is one most widely used chinese engines used out there today. Is it the best engine available that's up to opinion and like my Dad said one time everyone has one based on their experience or loyalty to a particular brand and you can argue until the cows come home no one will change their minds.

RE: BEST 50cc CHINA ENGINE RIGHT NOW??
The title of this thread is best Chinese engine, Its not about the DA or any other engine outside of Chinese engines available, which is best. It amazes me how some people are constantly trying ram their choice of engine down everyone's throat, fly what you want and if you are satisfied with it who am I to tell you otherwise. As far as Chinese engines the DLE as of today is the best available from china. Am I saying its the best engine available, thats a matter of opinion, but thats not the question here.

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon
One thing you have to remember this is a kit and it will fly only as good as it is built, I have seen this plane fly in person 3 times and they fly alot like a big cub only a little more aerobatic, but you have to remember these are not edges, 300S, or Yaks and they don't like them. Back when kits were the norm I seen planes of the same kit built by 2 different modelers, one flew great and the other flew terrible, the only variable was the builder.

RE: Shipping rates Ouch!
I do have account with UPS but I don't think it is a business account, I just a RC modeler that sells things I don't want, so I don't do that much shipping.

Shipping rates Ouch!
I shipped a ARF 5 months ago 400 miles for 36.49 I just ran the same size ARF box through UPS today for 225 miles and the cost was 74.66, I could not believe it, who can afford to ship now days? Most times the buyers are not willing to pay that much shipping and I am not going too, so it looks like shipping is out of the question for me, it looks like its back to the old days of going to the swap and sell days to sell unwanted RC stuff. UPS is my only option because I live out in the middle of nowhere and if I would go greyhound or Fedex I would have drive over 50 miles one way to the closest drop for large boxes.

Optima 7 Receiver
I have been searching for an hour still could not find anything, My question is how many useable channel on the Optima 7 Receiver ..., I need 2 channels for elevator, 2 channels for ailerons, 1 for engine, 1 for rudder and 1 for retracts. thats 7 channels but all I can see is the optima 7 only has 6 channel available and the battery port is listed as the 7 channel, How do use that if the battery needs to go there? RE: DA 35 and twin 70
How can you make a statement like that when this engine has not even been available yet, and no one knows the weight or its power yet. I know all you die hard DA fans will buy nothing but DA but for the open minded sport flyer you cannot beat the DLE 30 for price and performance. I have 3 DLE 30's and they run very well with more power than the planes I fly will ever need, I just saying for a sport flyer I can not see spending that extra when what I have does all I ask it to. Now if they would bring it out around 350.00 to 375.00 I might give it try, but I doubt that will happen. Oh yeah I can get a DLE 30 with discounts from tower for 269.00 shipped to my door, thats more than a 100 savings. [quote]ORIGINAL: gade600sdi If they can price it around $450 I will definately take one over a DLE.. American made quality and more power. $100 cheaper is no bargain for a chinese motor, when you can run a top notch american made quality motor that will last a lifetime if you take care of it. RE: bad gas
I don't know if it was mixed with something but it sure would not run in my weedeater, sure glad I did not try to use in my lawn mowers. I would take it back but I don't have any proof of purchase.

bad gas
I went to my local gas station yesterday and got 5 gallons of gas for the lawn mower and weedeater, well I mixed my weedeater gas and filled the tank and it started for a few seconds and smoked like crazy than stopped,it would not fire no matter what I tried. I spent 2 hours trying to figure out the problem until I thought the only thing I have not done is change the gas. so I got some more gas from a different station and mixed it and filled the tank and after a few pulls it was running, smoked a lot at first than cleared up and ran fine. Yes, it was gas, I know diesel and it was not that, I am sure glad I did not run it my truck or RC engines. now I have 5 gallons of worthless gas. maybe I leave it out by the road and hope someone steals it.

RE: OS 33cc gas engine
Thats one reason I don't buy OS products look at replacement parts and you will see they cost quite a bit more than other engine makes. Here is an example, O.S. Carburetor GT33 169.00, O.S. Crankcase GT33 84.99 Carburetor Complete DLE-30cc 34.99, DLE Engines Cylinder DLE-30cc 39.99 as you can see parts for the OS run quite a bit more than DLE.

RE: Those pesky paypal fees
I ask for the fee when I am selling because I don't think it is fair to non-paypal buyers to pay the extra add on to the asking price when they don't use the service. As a seller I don't use paypal unless the buyer asks for it and if they do than they need to pay for the service. By the way I know some small businesses now that charge extra if you use credit cards.
