ORIGINAL: CGRetired You should never re-apply thin CA to a CA hinge. The first application is plenty. If you have to do something to the hinge, remove it, and put it somewhere else, but do not re-apply CA to a CA hinge. This advice was given to me by my instructor, but I didn't listen and I re-applied CA to two of eight hinges on my Tiger 60. Both came apart on me. CGr. Some of it is crap, and some isn't. If you liked the plane you saw at the field, Its probably not crap. But I would not spend more than I would be prepared to lose at any of those places.

RE: Taxxas slash bearings go BOOM after 3 batteries.
Think I may have found the problem. The plastic motor mount that the bearings outer race fits in to is wallowed out so the bearing has a loose fit, which, at the rpm this thing turns, would drasticly reduce the lif of the bearing. It must have wallowed out when i removed the stock bearing, since it lasted a long time and the bearings after it have lasted about three batteries each.

Ummm we must be thinking of diiferent bearings the one that keeps blowing out is the one on the slipper clutch and the bearing carrier is metal not plastic.

I don't run at a track, but me and about 7 other guys at the DRCC flying club bought 4x4 slashes and we race them when it gets windy. one guy has the 2wd version but the 4wd is much more popular

Taxxas slash bearings go BOOM after 3 batteries.
I was racing my slash 4x4 today with my buddies, and 5 laps around the track on my first battey the bearing goes to crap. I put in my spare and run 3 lipos through it. I come home and put the stock nimh battery in and as I am driving, the bearing goes out again. I should add that the first bearing i had in it had only a few runs on it. The original stock bearing lasted a long time, but all three replacement bearings after that have only lasted 3 batterys each. What is wrong!?!?!?

RE: OS Max 91fx Shutting off above 3/4 throttle, HELP!
Good point, On my 91fx a cheap chinease ARF tank may have caused some problems that i thought were because the engine was inverted. I flipped it upright and installed a new tank and that fixed it, so mabye his fuel tank bung breaks the seal at higher pressures???

RE: Transmitter use
It dosent take a buisness degree to know that a 750 dollar radio will not degrade to 250 in less than a year of flying.... And that if you buy a 100 dollar radio and then a 750 dollar radio, you just spent 850 when you could have spent only 750.

RE: Transmitter use
you could use it, but I wouldn't recomend it. You will want a good 6 channel or more radio when you start flying more advanced planes. (flaps, retracts, smoke, ect,) On a side note, is this going to be your first plane? I would recomend something more like this for your first plane: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0161p?&I=LZ1678 This will get you flying, but you will want a better radio down the road. If you don't want to buy another reciever for this plane, consider this radio: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXARNY&P=0 it is not a computer radio, but its a 6 channel. These ones will not work with the included reciever, but they are computer radios and you will not outgrow them very quickly unlike a non computer radio: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPZT8&P=0 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXYYR8&P=0 http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/dx6i-dsmx-6-channel-radio-without-servos-2-free-ar6115e-receivers-md2-SPM6610C?cm_sp=DX6I+Free+RX+Promo-_-Homepage-_-Glamour+Overlay+4 http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/xg6-6-channel-dmss-transmitter-with-rg631b-receiver-JRP00619 You can decide which you like best, they ar all good. And all of these companies make radios with more channels, so take a look at hose as well. Here is another thing-this module will plug into the trainer port of any radio and allow you to use you r radio with a tactic reciever, like the one in the trainer. You can learn to fly on the tactic radio and a buddy cord, and then upgrade to a computer radio and this module to fly your trainer. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBPKF&P=0

RE: My basic/general questions about OSD
Well... Your On Screen Display does not affect the range. Your Video Transmitter, Video reciever, frequency, and the annetennas you use affect the range. The OSD only ovelays a telemetry display on your video image. I am not sure what this xamps yhertz stuff even means, but it sounds more like video trannsmitter specs than osd specs.

RE: RCEXL OPTO KILLSWITCH ON ZENOAH G26EI
What you do is this: Plug the kill switch IN port to the ignition battery, the kill switch OUT port to the ignition BATTERY port. Plug the RECIEVER port on the Kill switch into your reciever. Your setup with all your y-harnasses and whatnot makes no sense to me. All your kill switch does is cuts off power to the ignition module killing the engine, nothing else. Its an electronic switch.
