RE: Covering undercamber secrets ?
I hope you noticed that nobody recommended using a heat gun. It simply won't work (unless you are truly and expert) on either surface. Especially on the undercamber surface use the absolute minimum heat to get an acceptable tautness. Walt

RE: Great Planes P-51 conversion to electric
I've been back in the hobby (all electric) since 92. I build a highly modified Astro Hog for e-power in 93. It was my daily flier this season and it's getting floats for snow flying this winter. Walt

I'm sure Lado is a typical R/C cottage industry. If he's out of stock, then he's sold everything. to me that's good. Walt

Yes, the fuse side angle does change. When you pull the nose together it creates the difference. I don't remember the float arm, but 24" sounds about right for the 60, too much for the 40. Walt

well, you already ordered from HobbyKing/City; their Turnigy Plush controllers have been getting good ink. I also use the Great Planes Silver Series and program with the card (very, very easy). Walt

man, I hope you guys are talking the giant scale 47 (-: Don't know if the problem has been fixed on the GS, but my Gold Edition (and a couple of others that I know of) flies with significant down elevator and I know that the incidences are exactly according to plan (result of having to rebuild an earlier model). There's an outfit called "Glenn" or "Glennis" that I believe makes aluminum hub wheels. Never used them due to cost, but they're often mentioned for high end scale jobs. Walt

RE: brake with geardrive
Most ESC have a "soft brake" option that will work fine with a gearbox. By the way "soft start" is a good idea, too. You might also consider a folding prop which is much less susceptible to damage in a belly landing. Walt

If you put the fuse between the ESC and the battery and you are using BEC you will lose all control. WT

RE: motors and rpm's
Kv is usually taken without a load. It is often calculated rather than tested. When you add in all the efficiency losses you rarely, if ever, see the stated Kv in real life. It is the number which the motor TRIES to achieve, but resistance, prop efficiency and heat allhave an effect on the actual number. Walt
