RE: 6 volt ignition battery for DA50?
For 50cc planes we ose ONE A123 (2300ma or 2500ma) for the entire plane... To be on the safe side we install one IN 4001 diode to the ignition... Works GREAT as we have many plane with this set up.. Walt...

RE: Cermark SPE-43
ORIGINAL: ultra6a I highly recommend replacing the Melody Ignition unit, that comes with the engine, with an RCXL unit. After installing the RCXL ignition check the timing to ensure that it is sparking at 28 degrees before top dead center. I did this after wasting months with two Melody ignitions and associated timing issues. My SPE went from being a pure ''DOG'' to running great.
When you replaced the ignition did you also have to replace the hall switch ????? I have an eztra RCEXL ignition. The hall switch plug is different but might wire the same???[:D]
