RE: Smoke oil pump rate?
I figure on 16oz a minute on the wren. I have mine hooked to a slider so the smoke volume can be varied according to the circumstances. If you are practicing some maneuvers, you can thin it out, but if the Swedish Bikini Team stops by the field, you can crank it up... I'd get about 3 1/2 minutes of off and on smoke in a 6 minute flight on 32oz. BTW, in your plumbing diagram above, the front tank would never fill completely unless the inlet line to the second tank was moved up to the top.......

RE: Smoke oil?
I've used diesel, but it does not really produce the volume of smoke that SD does, and it stinks if you get a lung full after someone does a low pass smoke on............ There are lots of home brew recipes out there, but I prefer super dri myself. It's expensive, but the results are worth it... This is super dri on a single injector tube behind a Titan SE:

one persons opinion...but I find electrics in all flavors to be unsatisfying.....kinda like kissing your sister. There is just no pizzaz! Now having said that, I own, and continue to fly them, but they don't put a big smile on my face like dinosaur burners do!!!

Every twin is completely controllable on one engine if you keep the speed above VMC, as Bob Hoover demonstrated from several decades...

RE: Smoke system question
smoke on when idling on the ground can ignite...sometimes..not always...depends on the installation and conditions. One fire was enough, so I don't do it anymore....(no damage ) Smoke on at idle in the air has never been a problem with any of my installations as the airflow keeps everything moving away from the engine / airframe you get lots of billowing smoke under these conditions....

RE: Boeing 747-8 Inaugural Flight
sounds like we are drifting into a ford vs chevy conversation..... Haven't had the privilege of trying out the super size birds, but in my previous life, I worked for a carrier that operated both brands...Without a question, the buses were slower, noisier and always breaking down....even sitting on a ramp for 2 hours with nobody touching it, something would break.... Hopefully Airbus has made quantum leaps in the reliability department.

RE: Boomerang Builders/Owners; need some help
Intro / Baby Boomerang Nano Because of the modest servo requirements, I just used what I had laying around.. I tried fixed gear on both, but had issues with the spaghetti soft gear legs they supply,,replaced with your Pro-Link combo package and have not had a single issue since!! (highly recommended upgrade!!) Both build tail heavy even with the 2 batteries stuffed up as far as they will go in the nose. If I build another one, I would definitely go with ashlock connectors for the wing and booms!

they are all sport scale planes......none of them are accurate.......which doesn't really matter to 99.9% of the people that just enjoy flying a cub, but frustrating as heck if you are trying to compete, or cross utilize parts......
