Hey Lloyd, are you still running stock? How long does this boat run stock before something burns up? And what do you guys do if the boat flips on the other side of the river? That water is running pretty fast. Tokyopop got lucky when his flipped right next to him.

Fishing pole works best. I used to use one when I ran RC boats. just put a couple of extra weights so you can cast far and a treble hook and your set.

Etokyopop, Nice vid. Looks a little chilly[&:][;)] lol That really looks like fun. The whole video, I was wondering what you were going to do if the boat flipped over. So in the end, it did flip over. How did you get it out? What if it flipped over on the other side of the river or a littel down the river?

Sinai, Awesome! Very nice flying. Don't you just love how the extra weight helps level the plane out a little. I would be nervous landing on whater. Have you ever had her flip over upon touch down?

RE: I'm going electric!! What should I get?
The DX6i is a great radio and will hold 10 model memory. I will say that the DX7 provides one more channel if you really need it. Other than that, it is preferable to those who would rather have a sleeker radio with more crazy trim functions or definitely if you fly a heli. The DX7 is thinner and fits in the hands better. I will stick with my 6i and be happy with it. The most important thing about having a radio that has model memory is so you don't have to worry about trimming every time you fly a different plane. That can lead to mistakes and crashes. Like if you forget to reverse a servo. I would think this would be especially important with glow planes. Maybe I'm wrong on that one, I'm not a glow plane pilot

Goldsmim5, you mean sub-C don't you? I find it very interesting that these little boats run Sub C batteries. I would have guessed 2/3A size would be appropriate. Video is gooooood[sm=tongue_smile.gif]

RE: I'm going electric!! What should I get?
I like going out the back door to fly also, that is why I LOVE my Micro Cessna, Micro Citabria, Ember, Sukhoi, Vapor and Micro P-51, I can fly all of them in my back yard. I will definitely not drive any more that 3 to 5 miles to fly. Fortunately, I have one huge field less than a mile from my house and two more less than 5 miles. I had the DX5e and enjoyed it very much until my hangar started getting bigger and I needed a radio that I could program settings for more than one plane on. It sucks having to trim every time you switch planes. So I sold the 5e and got the 6i. I am currently a little upset with my self for not getting the DX7. It is a thinner nicer radio. However, I am going to join the AMA. It would be nice to have if some accident was to happen.

Ok, but standard doesn't count when there are two of them sitting in our RCU ads for $135 I bet you can get either one of them with free shipping and of course no tax.

Don't let the cheap prices fool you. I have had lipos and brushless motors and brushless esc's from them for over a year and none of them have given me any problems. Look out, over priced goods in US.

RE: I'm going electric!! What should I get?
After 2 minutes of research, I found this new in box DX6i right here in our RCU back yard for $135.00, no rx. http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=572976 And this rx on ebay, buy it now for $39.99, This next one is a slightly used DX6i for $135.00 and since there is also a new one for the same price, then you might be able to get this one for a little less. http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=570606 So that is a set-up for $175, that is only $25 more than I paid. I bought mine about 2 years ago, when it wasn't so popular and all of these little planes weren't out yet. If you look hard enough and mabye long enough, I'm sure you will find a similar deal.

RE: Budget Taylorcraft 450
My bad, now I get it. But I would say that practice is in order. I always change my battery, esc, charge lead plugs as soon as I get them. It never fails. When you buy something, it doesn't come with the adaptor plug you want. I hate to say it, but I think you are fighting a loosing battle. Even most motors don't come with any type of adaptor on them. That is the great thing about America, no uniformity[sm=75_75.gif] Actually, I get pretty tired of soldering myself. I am currently getting tired of Deans plugs because they are so hard to get apart. I recently bought two Traxxas Stampedes for my son and myself. They came with the Traxxas plugs and I like them. But they are so expensive. I guess I will start the switch over slowly. One esc and one battery at a time.

If you don't have the means to solder, the best thing to do is to order a RTF airplane.

Yeh, I can't wait to hear this one. You can't even get a receiver for that much. Not a 2.4ghz anyway. Then add servos and control rods and horns, esc, battery and so on..... good luck.

MAN! Could of had the DX6i[:@] Oh well, hope you have fun with what you got. That's what it's all about. I know I'm having a blast with my planes. I even feel better when I don't give my hard earned cash to companies that I think charge too much. I don't mind shopping around to get a better deal. I also enjoy putting in the hop up parts, it's kind of rewarding. [;)] Best of luck and happy flying.
