RE: Grumman F6F Hellcat Color Scheme
Hi Troy: This is the one that Mike Orbest built. I think the one you are looking for was in Los Angeles, I remember it was a Byron and it was a high gloss and dark blue on top I tried to buy it and he woud not drive to meet and or he was very hard to get a hold of. I wish I would have copied the pictures on That Dave

RE: Ziroli F6F Hellcat Builder's Diary
ORIGINAL: warks62 Well mine is ready to fly I guess. I have gone over it and looks like it will fly but need to check the motor in the plane and see how it runs. Question, is the CG at 5 1/2'' from the leading edge good? Reason I ask is it took 9 lbs in the nose which is a 3 lb bracket and a 6 lb lead brick bolted inside the bracket. I added up all the paint I mixed and it came to 19oz with some waste so I don't think it was the paint that made it so heavy in the tail. Going to tune and and taxi tomorrow and see how it feels. Not sure on maiden tomorrow due to possible high wind will just play by ear and see how it goes. Still need to weather it but main paint is all done. Don't worry about the guns they are not glued in yet and know they are backwards. They are now painted and will glue them in correctly in the moring. Here is a few specs on what is in it. GT80 for power with functional scale exhaust, Robart HD gear and wheels, Klasskote paint which was a breeze to lay down and is what I am going to use from now on, and a full cockpit. Will take more pics tomorrow.
Hi Randy the bird looks great I hope she fly's like a dream for you,,, let me know if you ever get bored with her [:D] Dave
ORIGINAL: drdoom We don't need another f-18 f-15 f-16 of any size... Skymaster has a small F-4. Larry Wolf has a even smaller F-4. No F-101's at all. 17 LB THRUST t-38 talon... You have the entire Market... I also would be interested in a 90 TO 100 inch T-28 Trojan, As for Civil.. The Cessna Cardinal, maybe the Old piper Comanche.
We don't need another Cessna Got one, Got a license in one too, They take off fly around in circles and land, good grief how exciting is that
