RE: engine upgrade
A guy at my field put a 50 hyper on a raptor 30 with 550's carbon fiber blades, the power was unbelievable but the blades wouldnt handle the power and would break in the air.

RE: Power selection for 56
saiwto .91 or 100, something more would be extra weight which would sacrifice the planes characteristics and would give you unecessary power. My 6lb UCD rockets with my saito 100 and 15x4W using 15% NITRO. I would go Saito 100

RE: Reactor verses U-Can-Do 3D
ORIGINAL: nmking09 Go with a funtana over either of these, flown all extensively and a funtana or the Aeroworks Edge 46-60 will beat any GP 40 size. Reactor doesn't 3D, period. I don't care what you do to it or what people say, it just doesn't 3D. it isn't designed for it. UCD doesn't go fast, doesn't KE, and doesn't harrier (well), it does everything else spins etc, and hovers really well, an absolute floater. My 2c
I am sorry but the Reactors can 3D very well too trust me. The only bad things to say about the reactor is the covering and the landing gear which is quickly fixed by putting the landing gear the opposite way, instead of turned backwards, turned to the front, it stops the frontt tipping problems completely and in my opinion it looks better, gives it a angry look, like a pittbull

What vibration does...
I had my Saito 100 on a harrier 90. The engine was giving me 10,200 peak rpms with a 15x4W prop and 30% fuel. Recently I decided to put my Saito 100 on my UCD .46 since I always like to have my planes overpowered. After everything was mounted I fired up the engine, when I tached it I was getting 10,400 peak rpms and at once it even peaked 10,700 using the same prop but this time 15% cool power. I was astonished to see this power gain and started wondering what could be the cause of this. So I went and checked the Harrier and remembered of one thing I had always noticed, the harrier's engine mount is made of a pretty flexible material which made the engine vibrate excessively. The engine mount on the UCD is pretty solid, no excessive vibration at all. So apparently the reduction of vibration using the hard engine mount gave me the rpm gain. I just want to show you guys the difference engine vibration can make. If your engines are not getting enough power, dont just check fuel foaming, check engine vibration too. Gaining 400 rpms using 15% fuel rather than 30% is a great power gain indeed. Hope this can help some people out there! William

RE: 50 titan upgrade
I would upgrade it to the titan SE, i've heard it flys just as good as a trex and has more stability.

RE: Heli 30 vs 50 Raptor and Gyro and Servos ... Need Some Guidance
The 50 size machine would be even more stable than the 30 since it is a little bigger. I am now starting on helis with a Raptor 50 titan and it is super stable. The Gyro is a great choice i would say Like Rafael said, a faster servo would be better but if you are learning the slower one would make the machine more forgiving since it is not so agressive. O.S engines are great engines, easy to tune, great power, good fuel economy. I've also heard good things about the redline .53 and later on when you are into 3D the new Novarossi 57 is awesome. About the trx, I fly mine with a futaba 6 channel radio and its good enough, but if you are going to put a governor on it you need an auxiliary channel. Realflight is very close to reality, in fact I found flying my heli for the first time even easier than in the sim. If I wehere you I would go with the 50 right now, it is more stable which is what you need to learn and when you get to 3D you already have a good machine and dont need to spend money in conversion kit and engine. Good luck, William

RE: Got my Titan :D
Well, it gave its first flights! I had my bro help me out with it since I am just starting on heli's and he set everything on the machine properly. on thursday my bro got the raptor airborne, everything went smooth, the blades needed absolutely no tracking and the heli was flying superb according to my bro. Today was the day I had to fly it. I manage helis on Realflight really good but I had only flown a Blade CP which I could never dominate because it had bad dampers which lead to me crashing it. Since I had crashed the blade I was really scared for the first flight. When my nerves where finally ready I got the controller and lifted the titan. I was impressed on how stable it was even though it had the hard dampeners, and the light flybar paddles. I hovered it really well and had total control of it, bigger helis are definitely much more stable than the small ones! After one more tank hovering I think I'll be ready to fly it. I found it easierto hover the heli in real life than in RF, hopefully flying goes the same :)! William

Bad day...
Hey guys just wanted to show you what happens when you jump your steps. My friend doesnt even know how to fly his kadet senior yet and he got himself a greatplanes extra sp. He was first flying his kadet seniior and he got too excited hit complete down elevator and inverted it, then when he tried to straighten up the plane by hitting up elevator, the plane was going so fast that the wing tore in half and the elevator and rudder blew off the plane. We only found the planes fuse and half the wing, the rest of it was carried away by the wind. After that his friend lifted up his extra, next thig i see, the plane is stalling down and since he wasnt using a training cable, when he passed the controller it was too late to recover it. He broke it into pieces also... I jusst want to show peoople what happens when you dont want to learn step-by-step. We told him to buy an avistar instead of an extra but he didnt want an avistar because he says its ugly. Now his planes are broken and he is going to buy an avistar. He lost inecessary money for no reason... he learned his lesson. Here are the pics!

Today I crashed my harrier 90 3D, was hovering at around 5 foot from the ground, the nose fell, i powered and tried to recover it butt it was to late, landed flat on the ground and ripped the landing gear off. It's really minorr I'll get it fixed up later but just for you guys to know lol. I have a video but havent uploaded it yet!

Are there any real big differences in their flying capabilities? IIve heard the Saito 100 and the Mojo 60 are the perfect setup.. But the primo is better than the mojo.. I dont know what to doo! Yes, you want the muffler at the bottom. Here are some pics, sorry for quality, its the best I could do with my laptop camera. Itdoesn't have the engine on since I dont fly it anymore, but you get theidea, the fiberglass at the bottom is from a repair of the landing gear.

RE: changing to 30% from 20%..what needle settings?
If am not mistaken you need to close them up a bit since you will be using less nitro.

RE: phoenix sukhoi .46. Any pics with O.S. .46
I dont know what exactly do you want to know, but you should mount it somewhere around a 225 degree angle so that the muffler sticks out the bottom of the plane. If you mount it this way it would look very clean, the head wont stick out since the cowl is pretty big and the muffler wont bother the looks neither! Good Luck, William

Could the prop being Zinger bring my RPM's down by 800? I really think these RPM's are very low specially when am running in 30% heli fuel! Any advice would be very welcome :) William

RE: advice wanted phoenix 0.46 giles 202, cap 232 or sukhoi
Well the sukhoi flies great, the lighter you keep it the better, it really doesn't like weight so your 46 should be great for some sport flying.

RE: Seagull Harrier 90 NIB. How much $
ORIGINAL: joesmith285 I now have proof that if you crash thisplane it will make many pieces. I don't know what happened? I have 2.4 radio but I lost complete control of the plane. I was up about 100ft and had plent of time to save the plane if something happened. But the plane started rolling right and the engine went to idle. I had no control in the elevator and rudder because if I did I would have just done rolling harriers to get out of it. This the best plane I've ever flown. And im very sad that it is gone. Also my saito 115 is completely broken. It was buried completely in the mud.
Joes, am very sad to hear what happened :(.

RE: advice wanted phoenix 0.46 giles 202, cap 232 or sukhoi
I think your Aeroworks is the best for acrobatiics from all :). I have the Sukhoi and it flys beautiful, your 46 should move this plane but you wont get unlimited vertical or anything beacuse the plane is pretty heavy. One good thing about the plane is that it is reallyy hard, I gave mine a very nasty crash, the plane was rolling on it's wings like a star flips. It only broke the mount where the wing screws bolt to. If your looking to 3D it wont work, for a acrobatics trainer it would be good choice, not near the performance of your Aeroworks though! Good Luck! William
