RE: anyone play Call Of Duty 4?
ORIGINAL: foxy42 I do, I haven't got around to finishing it yet, I'm stuck cos I'm playing it on elite, or whatever the hardest difficulty is. I'm at the bit where you're searching the houses, don't tell me anything. Anyway, there's just too many of em, even with helicopter support, I'm having difficulties. But it's ok, that's why I play on difficult, to get my hours out of it and when I finish it, know that I am Godlike. [;)] I don't play online yet, if I ever will.
Just wait until you get to the last level. There's one part you WILL get stuck on.[;)] When I played it on the second hardest setting I got stuck there for about a day.[8|]

RE: anyone play Call Of Duty 4?
That's been a problem from the start. Even when I add servers to my favorites list it will sometimes forget them and I can't find them any way except through the IP address. Hopefully a patch will come out soon to fix it.

Does anyone here besides foxy play it on PC? I know a lot wont be able to run it on the highest settings, but its compatible with a lot of hardware.

I only play CSS when I go to the local internet cafe with friends. I like Team Fortress 2 a bit better to mess around online with.

RE: apple gaming system?
A gaming system will run a lot more than a normal PC. You know those $400 HPs or Dells you can buy? To make a legitimate gaming computer it costs way more. I built my computer over the past summer and it cost $1500. (Still not extremely high end either) If Mac were to make a gaming rig the price would be out of this world. Their normal computers are already expensive so I don't even want to think about how much a gaming version would cost.

RE: apple gaming system?
The graphics on Macs look pretty while in reality most of them cannot handle much graphical load. (At least in my experience) A Mac will always be a good multimedia machine but will never match PC in terms of performance for gaming.

RE: The REAL gaming thread...
ORIGINAL: foxy42 I was just on gamespy voting for the games of the year, Call of Duty 4 has to be the one. It's the first game I played in a long time, where I had to take regular breaks to avoid adrenalin poisoning! After playing the opening level, you cannot help but sit back and think 'Wow!'.
Thats definitely my favorite game of all time. Single player was truly epic and multiplayer is just flat fun. I've played the PS3 version but it just doesn't seem to compare to the PC version in my book. Give me a mouse and keyboard any day!

RE: Rate my long................
ORIGINAL: Spdsk8er emo!
Or not... Anyway, I thought the story was very good... BUT, I felt it needed a little more flow in places. Some parts seemed a little "jerky" if thats the right word for it. I can see where this is vague, as I too had trouble trying to think of words to make it flow better. However, it's definitely a good story.[;)]

RE: EXHAUST QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!
The servo shouldn't be what is killing your engine. Check the engine stop screw to make sure the carb isn't closing all the way when you apply brakes.

RE: Crysis...
ORIGINAL: foxy42 Someone said I shouldn't bother with a Raptor 10k rpm hard drive, but I can't remember who. I have to say I wasn't sure, but I went ahead and did it anyway, and it makes a MASSIVE difference to sustained transfer rates. Not sure if the extra performance is worth the extra cost for what is essentially quite a small disk (150GB), but it is definitely a fair bit faster. Just so you all know.
I have the 150GB Raptor X in my computer and it's amazing. I plan to keep it for a long time. BTW, do you have any screen shots of Crysis?

RE: call of duty 4
Online is so fast paced. When you do play online try hardcore mode. It takes away your map, crosshairs, and ammo amount. In addition to that one bullet will kill you. I use the G3 with red dot sight on that mode all the time and just pick people off one shot at a time. (The G3 is semi-automatic)

RE: What other hobbys do you have except rc?
ORIGINAL: ttoks but keep in mind the PC version doesn't have some of the features the console do, like you don't get hardcore online mode (no HUD, double weapons damage and no health regeneration, fun fun) and prestige mode (when you hit level 55 online you use this and go back to level one but get a marker next to your name to show you've hit level 55, you can do that 10 times for a max level of 605)
Actually, PC does have hardcore mode. My clan has a server set up with those settings turned on. The G3 is the perfect weapon for it.[:D]

I've got it for the PC and beat the single player awhile ago. It's so easy to rank up online it's almost funny. I've barely been playing online a week and I'm already a second lieutenant.

RE: Whats my pc rate for gaming?
I'm a little bit nicer than foxy in that I would maybe give that set up a 4. This is because the pentium 4 can still hold its own in some games. However, with anything new coming out it will either struggle greatly or not run it at all. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars requires a huge amount of processing power alone, but unfortunately I can't remember what it is at the moment. I just remember thinking "no way" at Best Buy.[8|]
ORIGINAL: -Inverted- What is a typical rapper? What you listen to on the radio does not justify an entire culture, and the same can be said with any genre. I got to admit. I don't listen to rap, but I actually watched that whole video on youtube. I guess I like him a bit better because he's not what you would consider a "typical" rapper. He knows a thing or two about putting a song together.

RE: nitro duratrax evader problems?? help fast!!
First of all, spell check is your friend. It took me twice as long to read this thread as it should have. Second, even if you do sell it, these types of problems will arise in any truck, so it's best just to learn how to work on it. And if anything you came to the right place to get help about working on it.

RE: anyone know about custom computers..?
ORIGINAL: A.B.U will a umm.. custom PC.. (less than 800 bux..) be as good as lets say a.. HP m8200n? (only about 820ish..)
I built a $1500 computer that outperforms built ones in the $2000-$3000 range. If you get the right parts it'll outperform an 8200 easily. Keep in mind, though, that if you custom build it wont have as many multimedia options as something like an HP without spending extra money. If you are heavy into multimedia then an HP will do but if you want the best performance for your dollar and don't need as many other features than custom is the way to go.

RE: anyone know about custom computers..?
If you want a more affordable version of the "latest and greatest" than one of the 8600 series of graphics cards will fit you well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130286 I have a mid-range 8800 in my computer which of course costs a little more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130080 And then of course theres always the insane.[8|] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130093 For RAM you will get highly varied opinions but I myself like Kingston HyperX RAM. I've found it to be incredibly reliable and robust for many types of applications. I'm going to show you a 2GB set because I don't really believe that 4GB of RAM is necessary except in the most high stress applications. (This RAM is also DDR2 800 which is faster than the DDR2 667 you had selected) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134012 As for a motherboard something like this would run very well. (Keep in mind that this has an 8 pin CPU power connector and 24 pin main power connector so it may not work with your power supply.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128064 I know this would be more expensive then your current set up but these are just that... recommendations. If I were to build an "affordable" computer thats essentially what I would put in it. With those parts it will also stay up to date longer but it's still your call.[;)]
