RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Yes Rotax 377 cruise at 55mph, I'm not in a hurry. After twenty years of flying R/C and with my Pitts costing around 3k I figured it was time to fly in something, so I learned how to fly and I am glad I did. I feel the experience from R/C has helped me with my flying full sized as well as flying full sized has helped me with my R/C flying skills. AS for the trailer, I hope not to buy another one again for a long time, so this one I will take my time and make it very versitile. I can even camp in it at fly-ins, I like that Idea... Wilki

RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
ORIGINAL: cfircav8r Wow thats a mighty big model you have in the garage. I think you will have to have the wings off even with that huge trailer.
Yes, it is big at 32Foot wingspan and yes I sit in it. I got the trailer for it and other uses too. It will mostly be used for my R/C stuff but once in a while my Ultral-lights will get hauled in it.

RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Well, I have been reading this post for a while now and finally I bit the bullet. Sold my 6x12 and got a brand new 7x14, but that was just too small. So now I moved up to a 8 1/2 x 18. By the end of the weekend I will have the walls painted and the floor epoxied, I hope... Here is a few pictures I just took today. This forum has been a great read and I have gotten a few good ideas, so hopefully I will use some of them lol.

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
No problem on the help, if I can answer any questions feel free to ask. I also don't mind posting pictures either. As for cold and snow, it has been a long and very cold winter here. I finished my Pitts in the fall just in time for the winter and I cannot wait till spring. Thanks for the offer, I may have to take you up on that one day..

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
I finished mine in the fall, it has been sitting here waiting all winter. I put the DLE 55 in mine as well, I cannot wait to get it in the air, it was the most time consuming Arf to build ever for me. 20 years in theis hobby and most of my kits didn't take this long, but I made quite a few mods and hardware updates. As soon as this winter goes away, hopefully before september, I will get to fly. Back to the subject, I installed the Bison Pitts muffler in mine, fits perfect. Other than wrinkles in the covering the build was great. Wilki

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
Well my Pitts is finally ready for some gas for break-in. Weighs in at 18.95 lbs with diferent wheels than the original. I opted for Dubro 5.50 air filled, reason is I fly off a full sized aircraft grass strip a little on the rough side. Friday night I will runs some gas through it and see how she runs. I have equiped the Pitts with a DLE 55, Xoar 22/8 prop for break-in, Hitec 5645 all the way around(used the Hitec Digital servo programmer for end points and centering). I am using the Rcexl Tach and optical kill. Ehaul Is a Bison Pitts muffler with smoke plug, but I won't be using smoke, for now. Excellent Arf, only the covering is poor. I have upgrade most of the hardware to Dubro heavy duty stuff and all the surface gaps are sealed. Tx is a JR 9303, RX Jr921 with 2 sat remotes may add one more after a test with the data logger. This is one big plane, sure surprised me once it was assembled. My last large scale plane was a H( 1/4 scale cub, this thing seems, bigger...I sure can't wait to fly it, I miss my other Bipe so this was a had to have thing, good thing I am single, a wife may have stopped me..lol I will post my results as soon a I get it up and running with more pictures..

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
Very easy fix. Screw, then flat washer then a small piece of fuel tubing for nitro (about 1/4 inch long) over the screw then screw the assembly into the hole and problem solved. I do this with all off my cowled engines as well as my canopies. Won't vibrate out or hog the holes out. Very simple and cheap. Just remember do not over tighten the screws, they just need to me snug to allow the fuel line to absorb the vibrations from the engine. Neil.

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
I too am about 3/4 of the way to finishing mine. I have found only a couple of issues so far. First the covering job is just horrible, way too many wrinkles, even burned a hole in one sport trying to get one out. The other was I ended up using 4 24inch extensions instead of 2 as the manual stated, but I may have misread it somewhere. lol As far as the rest of the airframe I sure like how it was built, nice job. I installed a DLE 55 w a Spektrum setup. I too am looking forward to flying... Wilki

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
Hi, I just got one of these, I am looking forward to building it. I have been reading your build, nice build BTW. I have one question, which standoffs did you use for the DLE 55, I see the kits says to use 3" standoffs but the engine is supplied with approx. 2 5/8" standoffs. Thanks

RE: Battery for AR7000
Also, do dome searching about using those servos on a heli. I have not used them on a heli only on planes and had no issues. If you either search here on RCU or Helifreak you will find lots of advice on not using the DS821 servos in any heli. It's worth checking out, cause after a crash is way too late. Wilki

RE: 12x data program
After a little research myself earlier today, I come to the conclusion that my earlier poste in not, yes I said not correct. lol There was only one site that I found that stated it does work, I now don't agree with it. The JR site states theat the 12x comes with it's own software and cable. I could not find any reference to ordering it seperately at this point. On a side note, I hope that I did not offend anyone in my earlier post saying that this software works. I sure wish JR/Spekrum/Horizon would standardize the computer stuff like they did with the rx's. Cheers

RE: 12x data program
ORIGINAL: OldFart1 Rich, hopefully if they develop new software for the new radios they spend more than 2 minutes writing up the instructions :)
Instructions, lol I had to special order mine, when it can in, it came in a JR clear bag. Included was the cdrom, cable and usb interface. Oh ya and some kind've instruction on the cdrom. I don't even think they spent a whole 2 minutes on the instruction either. Ok maybe the guy used the one finger typing method..

RE: 12x data program
No, it is the same software and hardware. JR has only one version of this software, I thought the samething too, until I did a little research. http://www.omp.com.au/shop/products/JRPPCDATA_JR_PC_Data_Transfer_USB_Device_suit_9X_10X_DSX9_12X-4472-0.html I have yet found any other software that JR makes for their Tx's. I am still running Vista 32bit, I had issues at first, but I forgot what they were. lol Yet another reason Horizon or JR or anyone should come up with and update of some kind. I won't be holding my breath though. Anyways 40 or 50 bucks isn't all that bad, I don't have to type any of my current setups for back up, I can also print out blanks for when I am at the feild for quick viewing of all my stting at once, sometimes that alone helps me finetune some of my settings. Good luck in your search..

This is what you are looking for. I got mine from Hobbyworld in Canada, Towers probably has it as well as many hobby shops. It works great, I use it to back up all my settings and I can review or change right from my PC. http://www.jrradios.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRPA310

I like your battery mount. I sure hope it doesn't come off, it's hard to stop or control that thing without the battery. I upgraded my gears, clutch shoes and the pipe. My machine is a totaly diferent machine now.

If they don't have the trainer point, then No it will not work, if there is nothing to plug into. I have a new DX7 Heli and it works fine so far with Realflight, FS0ne and Phoenix. I chose not to get the DX7 SE just because I would not notice the diference and I wanted to have the port.

RE: CRRC Pro GF50i Plug issues
Is it one of the Torch Plugs, if so get rid of the plug and get an NGK, not sure of the number but someone will be able to give you the correct one here. Make sure your needles are set to run smooth also check for any seal leaks. Some CRRC engines seem to a little difficult at first and improve quite a bit once you run some fuel through them at least a gallon or so, do not run them over ritch like you would a glow engine. (you will never seat the rings if you do)

Dodge Grand Caravan, large enough for most planes cheap on fuel. So many of these vans around, cost is low to purchase as well as maintain. I would still have mine, but the ex wife got the van and I got to keep my planes. I do miss the van lol
