If it does indeed use the center dff mounts from the 9.5, this would be an option: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=RCMcrbuggymount

It is a legitimate question. I e-mailed them to ask one question and have never recieved a response of any kind. I asked for the name of a replacement tank for the Easy Fly 40 trainer. I got the auto response on 10-9-09 and nothing else. To busy, I think not. Service, I know not. Sunny_B

I'm unfamiliar with the XT2, but if a starterbox won't reach the flywheel, you could try installing a larger flywheel: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNZM7&P=7 It should work on the 247 engine. I can't say for sure.

RE: MBX6T or HB D8T?
This would be a classic case of "you get what you pay for" I think. There is a pretty big price difference between Mugen and Hot Bodies. We have a local guy who ran HB last season and switched to Mugen for next season. He can't stop talking about how much better the fit-n-finish is on the Mugen. I've got both the 6 and 6T and I'm certainly impressed with the attention to the little things. Right down to the o-ring around the wire opening in the radio box. As far as the D8T goes, it would seem you HAVE to cut some corners somewhere to be able to sell a truggy at just over $300.

RE: cant find Hong Nor buggy
Any reason why you want a 3-port .21? I understand that a .28 isn't legal for racing, but for club racing, they usually allow it. I see a few buggies on Amain that are under $400, including the Jammin. Keep in mind that you're not gonna find any sort of quality electronics in any of them. Even in Losi's $700 RTR, they still use junk servos. The AM radios in most RTRs are borderline worthless; very glitchy and I wouldn't run it without a failsafe. The Team Associated RC8 is about the only RTR I can find that has an FM radio, which is MUCH more reliable than any AM radio. Still uses marginal servos, but better than most others. But it's price also reflects that; $489 at Amain.

RE: servo's
The 7955 isn't very budget friendly at $114 retail. But you get what you pay for. I would suggest staying away from Hitec metal geared servos for steering. I've had metal gear Hitecs develop quite a bit of slop in a short time when used for steering. Their titanium geared servos like the 7955 wont' do that though. If you're plan on sticking with the hobby for some time, then the 7955 is a worthwhile investment. I've had very good luck with the Ace servos in my buggy. The Associated XP servos are also re-badged Ace servos. If somebody is racing an LX1 on a budget, something tells me that running servos on unregulated lipo power is not a top priority.

RE: What's wrong with these screws?
Have you been using the car? I know on mine, I've had a hard time fitting wrenches because the screws were getting "worn over" from abrasion and distorting the hex area a bit. I literally had to tap the wrench in to get past the little bit of slag that would develop around the hex area.

RE: would a hyper 7 wing fit the hyper 8?
For what it's worth, take a look at JConcepts' wings. They're universal; you drill your own holes using the grid guide molded in underneath. Those things are virtually unbreakable. When I first started racing, I put more miles on my wing than I did on my tires and it lasted an entire season of weekly racing before it finally developed even a hairline crack.

A very small amount of blue loctite on the threads will also do the trick. Let the loctite dry before you put the needle back in.

OFNA does not sell bad cars. Their Hyper line and the Jammin' line are both good race-worthy buggies. The ones branded specifically as OFNA are usually more geared towards the beginner/basher and therefore are not quite as performance-oriented.

RE: How to install 3Racing winch??
You can wire it many different ways, either with a separate battery or tap into your main battery. Most people use a separate speed control to operate it and plug it into the 3rd channel on their receiver. I don't think the TR comes with a 3-channel radio though.

If you have it properly set, it will hit the brakes in the event that the receiver looses the signal to your radio. Link to the manual for that particular failsafe: http://www.ofna.com/failsafe-micro.html

RE: Digg?
Dig is used to turn sharper. By locking up the rear wheels, and punching the gas, you can literally turn on a dime. A dig setup usually has 3 modes: 4x4 - all wheels engaged and turning Freewheel - rear driveshaft is disengaged allowing the rear wheels to freewheel while the fronts are still powered Llocked - rear driveshaft is disengaged and "locked" so the rear wheels will not turn but te fronts still have power To have all 3 modes, you need a 3-channel radio with a 3-position 3rd channel like the Spektrum DX3R.

That's a good point. Even with nitro motors, driving style plays a big part in your fuel mileage. I'm considering a brushless conversion just for kicks but I'm not entirely sold on Zippy packs. I keep reading horror stories on the interwebs. But then again, people don't usually post their good experiences with products, just the bad.
