RE: O.S. GF40 4st gas
What's that sound? Yes, the sound of money leaving my pockets...not sure if that was a good or bad report...but it's making me go broke. [;)] Keep the reports coming.

RE: Valley View RC Brand Engines
ORIGINAL: smkrcflyer So what do you guys think about using the 40cc twin in the new Hangar 9 SR22T? http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN5020
I believe it'll fit. The cowl measures 9-10". The orig plane was designed for the evo 26cc, but i saw it flown with the 33. Spoke with the designer from horizon, and we took measurements. It should fit in cowl. Also, considering the weight of the evo 33, the twin should be lighter. It flew awesome at Nall, btw. Came to a crawl with flaps. Truly nice plane.

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)
Boy that link was invaluable. Totally helped me out. As it turns out, my sensor(magnetic pickup) was fubarred. I got spark when the wire was wiggled one way and not the other. Well, that's unacceptable. Appreciate everyone's help. A new sensor will be ordered shortly. Anywhere in particular/suggestions?

Nothing. No pop. Fuel seems to be getting in the cylinder. It does smell of fuel when I pull spark plug. But am not sure if it's enough. There can only be three things, air, fuel and ignition. How do you check for spark?

My dle 20 sat out for a season waiting for a home, and now that it has one, it won't start. RCExcel a123 ignition kill switch A123 2300mah new spark plug Could something have gummed stuck from sitting. When I pull the spark plug it smells of fuel, so it's getting fuel.

RE: Hangar 9 Katana 50. Which engine?
Dle 20 is too long. You will need surgery. Rather if u want gas, then the rcgf 15cc is a better fit. Someone else can chime in on quality. I put a saito fg-17 on mine(weight similar to dle-20 & rcgf 15), and the weight was perfect. I have two dle 20s and theyre good engines, but they would be too long.

Am I missing something, cause when I look up #9, it's dimensions are 3/16 x 3/4. That's pretty big. I can't find it anywhere locallly. I bought 3/32 x 1/2 and it was too tall.

I guess you can tie a rock to a dle XX, with enough power, it'll fly. Unbelievable. Definitely not a 3d bird if it'll require so much engine.

This looks like a good candidate for a DLE 20. But the specs on weight seem too heavy for 3d.

Just went with what I already had, 30:1 ratio using Stihl HP synthetic. Any objections? Also, seemed to have gone thru a lot of fuel in a short amt of time for first tank. Yikes. Is this normal? Hope this improves on my next tank. 16oz tank.

Ad says that it will have updated exhaust valve seats and more efficient carb. Wonder what that means/implies. Anyway, the pic shows a new sensor (I'm guessing rcexl like that found on FG-17).

Saito fg-21
Just saw the new saito fg-21 in a mag. It seems to incorporate the new changes found on the fg-17. This second iteration of the fg-20 should be much better. Can't find it on horizons web page yet. I know they're letting the 20 go at a decent price...if it comes down to $350...it might be worth a try. Really interested to see performance results.

Large size high wing
Just curious, but researching a large high wing plane 50-100cc plane that I could build. I like the kits from amr, except they're all set up as trainers(esp like the payload master for it's size). A more sporty airfoil. Don't like the sticks(sorry stick lovers). I like beavers and similar planes. Any suggestions? Would like a plane that would fly well with both wheels and floats.

Would it be better to get the the fg-17 with it's improvements or just get the fg-20? at $100 diff the improvements should be quite significant. I just wonder if they'll upgrade the next run of fg-20's to incorporate the improvements in the fg17
