RE: Randolph afb airshow
Allan, I was using my new canon 650Is. which I'm fixing to send back to adorama for debris on the lens.... I really wish I'd taken my 10d and 75-300IS for the aerial shots, but didn't want to drag it around all day.

RE: Down Draft Sanding Table
ORIGINAL: khodges I saw plans for one where you make the surface the size you want, using pegboard, braced from underneath to make it firm. Build a box to mount the top on, with a hole cut in the side that you can stick a shop vac hose in. Fire up the vacuum, it will pull air down through the holes in the pegboard, taking the sanding dust with it. You can make one 2'x2' and a foot deep for about $20 or so.
I made my own using pegboard, it's 2' x 3' and I use my delta collector with it (lower noise than a shop vac) one tip if you're going to do it yourself, bevel the bottom so it gets shallower on the end away from the nozzle, this helps keep airflow more constant across the face of the pegboard.

RE: maiden flight 1/5 p51 gunfighter
pardon my ignorance and don't mean to hijack, but on Johnnie Red's mustang, is that engine note just from that particular engine, or more on the muffler side... I really like that engine note....[8D]

Plan Enlargement???
Navpro, I dont know how complicated your plans are, but when i enlarged my eagle 2, I traced onto rolled tracing paper, then went to kinkos and they have a continuous feed copier/enlarger. the trick was getting the plans into a long thin format that could be blown up, the originals would not have worked....hope this helps, Tim

warbird monokote or fiberglassing
You may already know of this tip, but my uncle introduced me to polycrylic when I was finishing my mesquite dektop, and told me to just rinse the brush and put it in a ziploc and into the freezer. Then when I use it again, I just take it out and rinse with warm water, and go back to using it. Works great and I'm still on the same brush. It won't work on urethane based products though.

warbird monokote or fiberglassing
Craig, I tested the minwax polycrylic today on some scrap 1/16 balsa, and it warped nicely :). You're saying you get no warpage from the polyurethane? Also, how thick does the balsa have to be before it doesn't seem to be affected by warping? Thanks for the info. Wish I had known this last year when I glassed my scratch built p-38  :)

Muffler for Webra 120
I've never seen one, and the webra site doesn't like me, or I just don't know how to navigate it.....noise really isn't an issue, this won't be an everyday type of flyer by any means. Thanks, I'll look around for one.

Muffler for Webra 120
I bought a webra 120 from a user here about a year ago, and have finally gotten some time to get on with my project, Basically I've upscaled a Goldberg Eagle 2 to 84" to carry airborne video and a digital camera. It came with a pitts style muffler that puts the exhaust a bit lower than I'd like. Is there a muffler available that is adjustable and will let me adjust the angle of the muffler, what I'm trying to describe is just like what's on my supertigre 45 in the pic below. If something like this is not available, I'd still be interested in finding fixed muffler that would go straight back. Thanks, Tim

84" Eagle 2 clone
HI, i'm currently building an eagle 2 sized up to 84", or 130% of the original, In my eagle 2 i have a supertigre 45 that has been great, What size engine should I be looking at on this project, I've seen st's new 90, but was wondering if that was overkill? I might add I'll be doing aerial video and digital stills from this plane, had lots of success with the old eagle 2 and a minolta cheapie autowind, but onward and upward :)
